The Birthday

"Why do I have to be here?" I wined walking up the steps to the massive boarding house following my best friend Elena "I could be at home watching-" I never got to finish as Elena cut me off "Some slasher flick, where some poor defenseless blonde gets stabbed multiple times in the first five minutes?" she turned to me opening the door.

"Okay miss sassy pants" I followed her in "I'll help you find Stefan, if you promise never to mention my fellow blondes in that way" I crossed my arms and muttered "We are not defenseless"

By this time we had reached a table in the old yet beautiful house, she turned to me with an exasperated expression "Livy!"

Ah yes the use of everybody's favorite nickname to be honest I had a lot of nicknames, Livy, Liv, Olive, the old lady I bumped into yesterday called me a hooligan and of course my real name Olivia.

Olivia Morrison, that's me, sounds like an ordinary seventeen year old girl. I suppose I am, apart from the fact I'm an orphan mixed up in a tangled web of Mystic Fall's supernatural. My parents died from a car accident when I was fourteen, I had always been closer to my other friend Caroline until Elena's parents died the same way and it brought us closer in a way.

"Morning" A voice I recognized as Damon came behind us "Hey I was gonna-"

We both turned around to see a very wet, very naked Damon, Damon at first well I hated him he was an arrogant ass who tried to take a bite out of me once luckily Stefan was there and stopped him, granted he's still an arrogant ass but he's slightly less insufferable now. While Elena let out a little "Oh." I screamed "My eyes my poor eyes" and whirled around.

"You heard me! You knew that I was here." Elena exclaimed in disbelief, well duh Elena. "Yeah, you two should learn to knock. What if I was indecent?" He told us sounding smug, "What if!" I shrieked loudly while Elena threw him a towel.

Deciding it was safe enough to turn around I did, slowly uncovering my eyes "Sheriff Forbes gave us another location to check." Elena pulled out a piece of paper "Memphis."

"Another dead end you mean." Damon ever the pessimist. "You don't know that."Elena insisted, my heart went out to her, she had been searching for Stefan all summer,who had run off with Klaus. A man I had never met myself but from what I heard he was evil ruthless and plain mean. I don't like mean people they kill my vibe.

I was to busy rapping Kendrick Lamar in my head I hadn't noticed Damon getting uncomfortably close to Elena "Fine, Livy and I will go" Elena proclaimed. Okay was I unconscious when I signed up for that.

She grabbed onto my arm and began pulling my towards the door, Three, two, one. As I got to the one, Damon sped in front of us, Damn I must be psychic.

Psychic Olivia, nah psychic Livy. Oh my god I could have a booth downtown, come and see your fortunes bitches.

"Come on, Livy" Elena grabbed my arm pulling me towards the door looking pissed "Bitch, just cause I'm psychic" I exploded at her, making her pissed face morph into one of confusion. After all these years you'd think she'd know not to break me from my daydreams.

"Setting up for a par-tay" I sung while placing red cups around the room, unhelpfully. "I feel like I have to fight Damon every single time we get a lead on Stefan." Elena complained.

Gurl you need to stop complaining its your birthday!

"Maybe he doesn't want to find him." Tyler unhelpfully spoke up for the first time, I eyed him up remembering the first time I had met him, freshman year I had bumped into him he called me a bitch I called him an ass next day we were best friends and have been since, its weird how stuff works out like that sometimes. Though I am really liking the new Tyler.

"Tyler" Caroline and I exclaimed in sync. "What? He's into you, isn't he?" he continued to Elena.

Please, no shit Tyler.

"The only reason Stefan left with Klaus was so that he could save Damon's life. I mean, trust me, Damon wants to find him." was Elena convincing us or herself?

"But you kissed him?" Can someone shut this kid up, like now.

"Tyler!" Caroline and I exclaimed in sync, Elena gave us both smiles and I knew she wasn't mad so I didn't bother apologizing, I moved closer to the group finishing being unhelpful.

"Don't worry about it, look yes I kissed him but was a it was a goodbye kiss. I thought he was gonna die." Elena insisted busying herself with setting something up "I missed a call from Bonnie, I'll be right back."

My eyes followed her as she walked out and as soon as she had left Caroline and I turned to Tyler.

"Just because we tell you things" Caroline gestured between us "doesn't mean you're allowed to know them!"

"Yeah idiot" I injected though was ignored.

"Sorry" he began softly before changing his tone "I've gotta run if I'm gonna change and pick up Sophie in time."

"Wait. You're bringing a date? Slutty Sophie is your date?" Caroline judged, was that jealously I saw in her eyes. I ship this.

" Hey! It's been kinda slow in that department." once again someone needs to shut him up "And I am horny all the time now!"

Wow did not need to know these things, maybe I can sneak out before this gets worse-

"Yeah, tell me about it, sometimes I feel like I'm gonna explode! It's a vampire thing. Yeah, our emotions are heightened and we're on overdrive." Bitch had to go there didn't she?

"It's a werewolf thing too. Just like I can't turn it off." Tyler responded somewhat awkwardly.

"Ahh my virgin ears" I shrieked loudly.

Caroline scoffed "you're not a virgin"

"What?" Tyler almost exploded, Tyler always had to play overprotective brother didn't he?

I glared at Caroline as he dragged me out, lecturing me the whole way home.

I strutted in pretending I was on top model, when the party was in full swing "I JUST CAME TO SAY HELLO" I screeched with the music that pumped through the house. Caroline bounced over and promptly handed me a bottle of something, I was going to question it but fuck it, I popped it open and downed some.

"You like?" I slurred slightly as we walked over to Elena arm in arm "don't answer that" Caroline covered.

Elena frowned looking around then at me "are you drunk already, Liv?"

I just pressed a finger to my lips and skipped off towards where people where doing keg stands and began to chant loudly waving my fist.

A hour or so and half a bottle of jack? maybe I don't know later, I caught up with Caroline who was watching Tyler and Sophie dirty dance, and he has the balls to lecture me.

"Jealously is an unattractive trait my darling" I told her, but she ignored me as Matt walked over.

"Since when were they a thing" He began looking over at the two, I winced don't get me wrong I loved Matty but couldn't this boy see the jealously here.

"I thought you were ignoring me" Caroline snapped back, yeah girl power that's what I'm talking about.

well this is awkward enough without my generally awkward presence.

I skipped off wondering how that would work out.

I got Rick to drop me home as I figured walking or driving wouldn't be very safe, I waved goodbye in the car lights direction and stumbled into the home I shared with my brother Danny, our relationship to say the least was horrible, he hated me and I'm not being a dramatic whiny teenager, like he literally hates me. Even when our parents were alive we didn't get along that well but after they died he made his hatred very clear, he doesn't care where I am or if I'm safe or not he doesn't want to be my legal guardian and I bet as soon as I'm eighteen and he's off the hook he will be out of here as fast as you could say Daniel Morrison's an ass.

I made a face at his 'office' door honesty I don't know what he does in there but he barley comes out when I'm around, before pulling myself up the stairs into my room I flopped on my bed not bothering to change and fell into a deep sleep.
