Chapter 7 Dragons

Leo P.O.V.

Camp Half-Blood

I still am having some trouble getting it into my head that I just volunteered to go on a quest, a quest! And I haven't even been here a day! Maybe five hours, maybe. And now little old crazy me has decided to go try to catch an even crazier dragon for transportation, all alone.
Wait, maybe I don't have to do it alone! Didn't Larissa say that her mom was like the goddess of fire or something? Yeah! I can ask her… that is, if she wants to help. Oh well it doesn't hurt to ask, right?

I walked up to her door and knocked. After about five minutes of waiting I turned to leave, then the door opened. "Hey ya Spock! Sorry it took so long." She said.
"Oh it was not a problem." I answered ignoring the nickname.

"Soo Leo, what brings you to my cabin?"

"What brings me to your- Oh right! I need your help."

"Need my help?" She inquired. I nodded. "Ok what do you need?"

"I need your help to catch a dragon." She laughed then stopped when she saw my face.

"You're serious?" I nodded again. "Is this that dragon that Cabin Nine has tried to catch, the bronze one, which breathes fire?"

"Pretty much. But if you don't want to come…"

"Who are you kidding? Fire? Psh! I've seen worse!" She still seemed worried.

"Are you sure?" I asked, a little worried.

"Hades Yeah! Let me go get my poker! Be right back!" said Larissa as she closed the door to go looking for her "poker" whatever that is. Then I realized she wasn't at the campfire, one of her friends said that she was having "Lissa time" and not to disturb her. Which also means she doesn't know about the quest, I guess that I will tell her.
Then the door opened again and Larissa came out. "You ready to do this Spock?"

"Don't call me Spock!" She seemed to take this as an answer as she then nodded and started walking towards the forest. "Hey wait up!" I yelled and ran after her.

Time Skip

"So where do you think this dragon is going to be?" Larissa asked me.
"Don't know. Nyssa said he likes oil and hot sauce and they have lots of traps around here filled with it. So, he could be anywhere."

"Helpful." She said sarcastically.

"I try." I said, then smiled. She looked like she was about to rant at me like girls do when I heard something. "shhh!"

"Don't you dare shush m-" I covered her mouth.

"Shut up! I heard something!" Her eyes widened and she stopped struggling to get my hand off.
I looked over to her and mouthed "this way." Removing my hand and walking towards the noise. I could hear Larissa behind me but I couldn't hear the noise anymore. "Huh, that's weird. I can't hear it anymore."

"L-leo!"

"What?"

"T-t-turn around!"

'He's behind me, isn't he?' I thought and turned around to come face to face with the dragon.

Line break.

The Underworld

"Just go away and leave me alone!" A voice said, Mel maybe?

"Fine! Maybe I will!" Austin, definitely Austin.

"Fine!"

"Fine!" there was footsteps storming away.

"Ugh! Why do I have to put up with his- his Austiness!?" Huh, it must have been Austin that left. I thought that now may be a good time to open my eyes, before her rant got started.
"Huh? What? Mel, what happened?" I asked, looking around.

"Alex!" Mel started, surprised. "You're awake!"

I nodded, "Yep, I am. Uh, where are we?"

"Oh yeah, silly me. We are in the Underworld, Hades domain."

"How did we get here?" I questioned.

"Why in Hades does everyone seem to think the daughter of the Titan of Shadows can't Shadow Travel?!"

"Oh."

"Yeah. Anyway you were out cold because of that light thing—" A picture of the woma- my mother- who saved me popped into my head. She was so familiar yet so… not. Almost- 'Almost like Percy.'
'What? No, no, no. I never got anything like that feeling around him!'
'
Really? If you would recall the first time you met him?'

'Wha-'

'just do it.'

Flashback:

I looked over at the other boy in the bed next to me and my eyes widened. 'I know him, don't I?' I thought. "I K-know you?"

End of Flashback

'I did, didn't I?'

'Told you!'

'But what does it mean?'

Bob was silent.

The Underworld

I trailed off when I noticed that Alex was way too lost in thought to hear a word I was saying.
"Hello," I said waving my hand in front of his face. "Alex?"

After a few minutes of Mr. Non-responsive, I decided to try a little harder to break his trance.
"HEY ALEX! FOOD!"

Huh, nothing. That would have worked if he was Austin. Time for plan B.

"Alex! Hello?" I snapped my fingers in front of his face.

Nata. I sat back down in a huff. 'Stubborn Boys! I thought.

Then he woke up.
"What? Mel when did you sit down?" Alex asked.

Instead of answering I screamed ,"UGH! I give up!" and stormed off. Or- well, I would have if it weren't for Austin running back screaming-

The Underworld

"DRAGON!" I screamed. "THERE IS A GODS FORSAKEN DRAGON FOLLOWING ME, MEL! A DRAGON!" Then I noticed Alex, awake. "Oh, hi Alex."

"Hi Austin." Alex answered.

Mel still seemed to be processing the info I gave her. "Did you say a-a dragon?" I nodded

"Oh my Gods!" For her credit, Mel freaked out in a dignified way. Oh who am I kidding? It was plain madness! "There is a Drag- Ohmygods! We need to, no that wouldn't work-"
"MEL! Calm down! We just need to find a good way to combat this." Mel calmed a little, Alex turned to me. "What kind of dragon was it?" He asked.
"It seemed like some sort of Shade. It is the Underworld after all." I recalled. Alex frowned.
"Well, it would seem that we may have a slight advantage on that point, maybe."

"Maybe? What do you mean Maybe!?" Mel squeaked.

"Well, I don't really know if I can control shades. I haven't tried." Alex Admitted.

If possible, Mel got paler. "Aw don't worry Mel! We can do this, can't we Alex?" I tried to comfort her.

"Of course we can." Said a confident voice, which was a lot like Alex, but not Alex.

"Bob?" Asked Alex confused.

The Figure stepped to where we could see him. 'Correction to my earlier statement, he is Alex!'

A/N: Sorry for the shortness but that seemed like a wonderful place to end it! *Evil Laugh*

Ok so I Will see all of you next chapter! *runs to go write*
