This chapter has been revised. It was originally 2,000+ words. It is
now 2,500+ words. I added some things.

Morinozuka Takashi glanced back and forth between Hikaru and Mitsukuni. Why now? Why did the emotional twin have to choose now of all times? Despite being sixteen, Hikaru had yet to mellow out in the least. And his brother simply looked on calmly in mild horror.

He could understand the jealousy. Hikaru had a crush on Haruhi, but the way he was acting, was beginning to get on everyone's nerves. Also, he'd never done anything more that taunt her and call her a toy, which wouldn't really endear anyone to him. So he shouldn't be shocked that she didn't show him any interest when he never tried to make it explicitly known.

Kyoya had noticed the growing relationship between Haruhi and Mitsukuni and immediately withdrew his meddling behaviors. For the most part at least. Though he wasn't happy about losing what was no doubt a good chance at blackmail, he didn't throw a fit lit Hikaru was. Takashi had made certain to halt his minute crush on the Natural Host once his cousin's intentions were clear. And oddly enough, Tamaki seemed to be the most accepting of everything and had been working double time to keep everyone happy.

Kaoru had also kindly backed out from the situation, because he was smart and could tell that there was something there beyond what he could see. Haruhi and Mitsukuni were perfect for each other. She was a spectacular cook and could bake the best of sweets. When Mistukuni's other self as unleashed, she could calm him down without issue. He knew how to keep her interested and was easily able to get her to have fun instead of doing work all the time. They communicated and treated each other like people instead of one just being a host and the other a cute little boy like so many others treated them as.

They just connected in a way that very few people ever could. So why couldn't Hikaru see this? It was blatantly obvious with the way they acted around each other. Smiles and laughter and shared glances here and there.

If even Tamaki, who was the most unobservant person in the world, could pick up on the situation and accept it for what it was, then there was no excused for Hikaru.

Hikaru was glaring at Mitsukuni, harshly he may as well add. If he didn't stop soon, Mitsukuni would break free and possibly decimate the club room. He was sure that Hikaru wouldn't make it out alive if that happened.

Mitsukuni had specifically chosen Haruhi to be his future and Hikaru was trying to ruin their relationship by spreading it about the school. He didn't even care that he could blow Haruhi's secret with it. That, or destroy the Haninozuka name with his embellished drama.

He had just loudly asked Mitsukuni in front of the entire Host Club, what his intentions were toward Haruhi. He then stated very rudely that Haruhi was his and that Mitsukuni had better stay away. Two of the worst mistakes anyone could ever make, regarding Mitsukuni. And Haruhi was not pleased about it either. She did not liked being referred to as an object and her own glare could level both Kyoya and Mitsukuni when they were angered.

In her very blunt way, she told Hikaru to back off(though she had said some very uncouth words along with it) and stated that he wasn't her father and that her father was okay with her's and Mitsukuni's relationship. And that if he'd actually wanted something more than friendship then he should have stepped up, grown up, and been a man about his intentions.

That set the ginger off.

When he moved and got in Haruhi's personal space, Mitsukuni was there immediately, keeping a good distance between his girlfriend and Hikaru. Currently, they were glaring at each other for all they were worth. And the height difference did in no way look comical, because The Look was on Mitsukuni's face and he resembled a coiled spring, ready to unleash its pent up energy on Hikaru. Only Haruhi's hand on his shoulder stopped him from attacking.

Kyoya was in the midst of forcing the customers to leave before anythign got even further out of hand, and Kaoru stood back with Tamaki. Both had their heads in their palms, shaking them back and forth.

He stood there, waiting for the inevitable. He'd never beaten Mitsukuni in a match and he knew he'd receive some nasty injuries when he had to intervene. Hikaru would make the wrong move, Mitsukuni would react like a cornered wild animal, and Takashi would intercede and get the full brunt of Mitsukuni's ire in order to protect his kouhai from massive injury.

Haruhi's hand trailed down to Mitsukuni's own hand, and she grasped it lightly, making him loosen up just a bit. Takashi sighed in relief as the small boy visibly relaxed before them. That right there was proof that Haruhi was perfect for Mitsukuni. She could bring him back from his rage. She had a way of calming him down. Why couldn't Hikaru see that he was in serious danger and just back off?!

Did fight or flight not come to mind?

"You go too far, Hitachiin," Mitsukuni snarled, his face darkening as his eyes became clear.

Hikaru refused to listen. "No, you have! I liked her way before any of you did. It's not fair!"

Haruhi stepped around Mitsukuni's protective stance and glared. "I would never be interested in you anyway, Hikaru! You're too immature and I can't stand that," she growled.

"He's immature too! Acting like a little kid all the time and bouncing around while carrying a stupid stuffed bunny and talking in a cute voice about how much he wants cake! He's an adult already and doesn't act like it! What makes him better than me?!" the ginger yelled.

"A lot! A lot of things make him better than you!" she hissed as she kept her boyfriend pushed behind her lest he react with violence. "He's never once treated me like a possession. He never comments on my commoner status nor does he feel the need to constantly remind me of my debt! He's intelligent and insightful and I like talking to him! He's passionate about the things he loves and I find that admirable. There is an innocence about him that not many people have, because he simply enjoys life. He isn't immature, he's just pure of heart, mind, and soul. You on the other hand, are whiny, obsessive, ill-mannered, annoying and when your brother isn't around, you are uncontrollable! I will only ever consider you a friend Hikaru, because even though you are sixteen, you still haven't grown up yet and I can't be in a relationship with a child."

By now, she was breathing heavily. Her face was red and she looked extremely angry and offended. And her efforts to keep Mitsukuni at bay were barely working.

Hikaru was gaping, along with everyone else in the room. As usual, in her own blunt manner, Haruhi spoke her mind without remorse.

Takashi looked to Mitsukuni who was watching his girlfriend with wide eyes. There was also a slight flush on his face. Her words had touched him deeply, even though he probably still wanted to rip Hikaru to shreds.

Haruhi turned, grabbed Mitsukuni's hand and tugged him out the door without so much as a goodbye.

Surprisingly, Tamaki was the one to reproach Hikaru.

"You are going to need to grow up and soon. It may hurt, but you have to learn to accept her decision. You may not win her heart, but you can win back your friendship. Some things aren't meant to be, Hikaru and if you keep on like this, you're going to lose her for good. Which is worse, remaining friends with an amazing person like her because you couldn't win her romantic affections, or never being allowed to be a part of her life ever again because you opened your mouth and went too far? Think about it."

And with those strangely wise words, Tamaki left the club room with Kyoya close on his heels.

Haruhi and Mitsukuni sat in his limo. Mitsukuni was clenching his hands every few moments and Haruhi was trying to calm him down as quickly as possible.

She placed her hands on his and he stilled. "We both know that Hikaru is an idiot. It seems that he will always be an idiot and nothing can change that. Nothing but himself. Don't listen to him, because he doesn't know what he's talking about and our decisions aren't any of his business," she said with a small smile.

Mitsukuni smiled. "You are correct. But I will tell you now, if he pulls that ever again he's going to regret living."

Haruhi sighed. "Okay. Please try not to kill him. Injure or whatever, but you'll get into trouble if you kill him. And despite pissing me off, I don't want him to get hurt."

He linked their fingers and placed a kiss on her hand. "I shall endeavor for your sake, my dear."

The young woman smiled. "It's all I can ask for. Thank you for letting me deal with him and for controlling your impulses."

He smirked roguishly, face transforming immediately. "Do I get a reward?"

She smiled and leaned in, giving him a quick kiss.

Ootori Kyoya typed furiously on his laptop. That day had not been the best.

Because of Hikaru's actions, the club lost a good amount of money earlier that day and it would set them back.

Even though he pretty much got to hear Haruhi admit that she and Hunny-senpai were in a relationship, it still cost the club money and he could not accept that.

And the immediate change in the Haninozuka's tone and visage were noticeable. And slightly terrifying if he were to be honest with himself. It was like his senpai turned into a completely different person. And the way he called Hikaru 'Hitachiin', was unnerving!

He reviewed over everything he was able to learn. Hunny had taken Aloperidin for two years and went to the doctors often. Aloperidin was used for several reasons, including behavioural issues. The way Hunny's countenance changed, would suggest behavior problems. It was like he was a completely different person!

Kyoya froze, something coming to mind.

He stopped what he was doing and opened a new window, typing the words as fast as he could.

Dissociative Identity Disorder-(previously known as multiple personality disorder) is an effect of severe trauma during early childhood, usually extreme, repetitive physical, sexual, or emotional abuse.

What is Dissociative Identity Disorder?

Most of us have experienced mild dissociation, which is like daydreaming or getting lost in the moment while working on a project. However, dissociative identity disorder is a severe form of dissociation, a mental process, which produces a lack of connection in a person's thoughts, memories, feelings, actions, or sense of identity. Dissociative identity disorder is thought to stem from trauma experienced by the person with the disorder. The dissociative aspect is thought to be a coping mechanism - the person literally dissociates himself from a situation or experience that's too violent, traumatic, or painful to assimilate with his conscious self.

Is Dissociative Identity Disorder real?

You may wonder if dissociative identity disorder is real. After all, understanding the development of multiple personalities is difficult, even for highly trained experts. But dissociative identity disorder does exist. It is the most severe and chronic manifestation of the dissociative disorders that cause multiple personalities.

Other types of dissociative disorders defined in the DSM-IV, the main psychiatry manual used to classify mental illnesses, include dissociative amnesia, dissociative fugue, and depersonalization disorder.

What are the Symptoms of Dissociative Identity Disorder?

Dissociative identity disorder is characterized by the presence of two or more distinct or split identities or personality states that continually have power over the person's behavior. With dissociative identity disorder, there's also an inability to recall key personal information that is too far-reaching to be explained as mere forgetfulness. With dissociative identity disorder, there are also highly distinct memory variations, which fluctuate with the person's split personality.

The "alters" or different identities have their own age, sex, or race. Each has his or her own postures, gestures, and distinct way of talking. Sometimes the alters are imaginary people; sometimes they are animals. As each personality reveals itself and controls the individuals' behavior and thoughts, it's called "switching." Switching can take seconds to minutes to days. When under hypnosis, the person's different "alters" or identities may be very responsive to the therapist's requests.

Kyoya sat back in his chair and thought of how Hunny had carried himself when that odd switch is always flipped. He would sit straight and tense and his eyes always seemed to spark with anger, annoyance and disgust as if he viewed himself better than everyone around him. And he would speak as if talking down to everyone because they wee mere ants beneath his shoes.

It was a complete one eighty from how Hunny always acted and it just made Kyoya believe it even more. His senpai had DID, so some extent. But what he didn't understand was, how did he get it? As far as he knew, Hunny had never been sexually assaulted and his family loved him very much, so they wouldn't be abusive, would they?

He thought of how Haruhi reacted around him and how she placed her hand on his shoulder. He had calmed down immediately and she took over the situation. Hunny could get violent when he was angry, and she had stopped a possibly bad outcome if he had continued being angry.

That meant that she knew about it and didn't mind. And Hunny was very protective of her when in his other... state of mind. Very demanding and controlling it seemed. But not of her too much.

He hoped that Hikaru learned from this, because he'd be stepping into very dangerous waters of he tried what he did earlier, again.

Kyoya sighed. Now that he knew what was going on, he wanted to find out how his senpai ended up with DID. He would find out and soon! In the meantime, he had his rambunctious blond to placate with a trip to a shrine.
