Chapter 11:

As was usual, Severus awoke first the next morning. He lay in bed, simply watching Harry's relaxed face. Severus realized that Harry had beautifully cheekbones and red plump lips, just waiting to be kissed. Noticing his train of thought, Severus quickly looked away. He could not risk thinking of Harry in that way, even though they were soon to be married. He would never force Harry into doing anything he wouldn't want, and Severus knew that Harry did not want him. In order to pull his mind away from the gorgeous man lying next to him, Severus carefully extricated himself from the tangle of limbs that was Harry and made his way downstairs.

Once there, he prepared a pot of tea and summoned a house elf to bring breakfast. Upon the fulfillment of his order, he took the meal and brought it back up to bed. Setting the food under a stasis charm on the nightstand, Severus took out a potions book and decided to read until Harry woke up. Occasionally, Harry would restlessly stir from his slumber, so Severus would run a calming hand down his back to soothe him.

About an hour later, Harry slowly opened his eyes, groaning as the bright sunlight momentarily blinded him. He rubbed his eyes, waiting for his pupils to adjust to the difference in light.

"Morning," Severus, setting his book aside, stated in his usual clipped tone, causing Harry to start.

"Oh, sorry didn't realize you were still here. Um, hi." Harry awkwardly stammered.

"I thought I'd stay in due to the fact that we have more than a few things to discuss. There is breakfast here for the both of us to enjoy, so help yourself."

At the mention of food, Harry immediately sat up, located the platter, and started fixing himself a plate. At first, Severus thought that Harry must be terribly hungry. However, he soon realized that the boy was simply preparing himself breakfast for something to do and a way to avoid looking at Severus. Rather than continue talking, Severus simply waited until Harry had finished filling his plate. Upon taking his first bite of scrambled eggs, Harry closed his eyes and moaned at the flavor.

Severus had to quickly divert his eyes from Harry. The moan had caused a large amount of lust and arousal to shoot through his body. He caught himself imagining other ways to make Harry moan like that and a faint touch of pink tinged his cheeks.

Emptying his mind and ensuring that his occlumency barriers were fully up, Severus cleared his throat to begin the conversation.

"I think that it would be wise to start by talking about what happened yesterday. We can't have you missing sleep and endangering the life of our future child."

Harry stared down at his plate moodily, stabbing his food aggressively with his fork. Severus' words angered him. The man didn't care about Harry's wellbeing or lack of sleep; he only cared about their precious future child.

"Can't you just make a potion for me to take that will get rid of my nightmares? Won't Dreamless Sleep work?" Harry bit out.

"In normal circumstances, you would be able to take Dreamless Sleep to ensure a peaceful night's rest. However, these are not normal circumstances. While taking the pregnancy potion and while pregnant, you can't take any other potions for they could cause permanent damage to the child. Though, I do think that our current way of curing your restless sleep is an efficient solution." Snape said, anxious to hear Harry's reaction to his last words.

Harry didn't immediately respond to Severus' words, stalling by taking a few bites of his breakfast. He had a very curious look on his face that Severus could not make out and when he finally spoke, his words were not what was expected.

Staring down at his hands, he finally said, "I'm so weak. I hate it. I can't even fall asleep by myself. I need someone to help me do absolutely everything."

"That's bullshit, Potter, and you know it. I would be way more concerned if you weren't having nightmares after what you have been through than you having them. Over time, they will probably start to fade away, but for right now you simply have to deal with them. I have no qualms with helping you deal with them too." In fact, Severus was rather starting to enjoy sharing a bed with Harry, but he thought it best not to admit this fact to the young man.

Severus understood where Harry was coming from. Harry, like himself, hated being dependent on other people for favors and wanted to be able to do things for himself. But, encouraging Harry to wallow in self pity would not help anyone. For the time being, his fiancé would simply have to be dependent on him for sleep.

"Yeah, whatever," Harry, unconvinced, mumbled under his breath.

"Now we must discuss what occurred here with young Draco yesterday. I acknowledge that it was not fair for me to bring him into our rooms without your permission, and I will not do so in the future. I know that the two of you do not get along well, but I would like you both to make an effort to be tolerably polite to the other as you will have to occasionally endure each other's company." Severus put forth as diplomatically as possible.

"Can we just agree, um, to not have anyone else here except for emergencies? I kind of like it just being our own space." Harry asked, running his hand through his hair and looking anywhere but Severus.

"Yes, that would be agreeable," Severus acquiesced. "Finally, we must speak about the wedding and the wedding night." Harry groaned upon hearing these words, but Severus chose to ignore him. "The wedding will be held in the Headmistress' office with the Malfoys, Minerva, Mr. Weasley, Ms. Granger, and someone from the Ministry to preside in attendance. The ceremony will be brief and concise with traditional vows. Following the ceremony, we will have a short reception, including dinner. Then, we will say goodbye to our guests and we will be spending the night and the next day, which is Sunday, in a villa in France. We will both be back for classes on Monday, which we are expected to attend as usual. That same day you will also make a visit to Madame Pomfrey who will hopefully confirm that you are pregnant. Following that, it will be your decision when we inform the public about the marriage and our child. Thus far, Minerva has been able to keep the media in the dark about your suitor, but I know that people have been dying to know who it is that the great and famous Harry Potter will marry."

Harry fell forwards, putting his face into the pillow and mumbling incoherently. After a few moments, he pulled his face up and sighed. "Will they ever leave me alone? I don't want any of the attention! I just want some privacy. It's none of their fucking business who I am with."

Noticing that Severus was still looking at him expectantly, he remembered the rest of the information that he was just given. "Oh right, sorry. Yeah, all the other stuff sounds good. Thanks for arranging it and all."

"You're welcome, Harry. It was no problem at all."

"I think that there's something I should tell you," Harry nervously burst out. Severus quirked an eyebrow at him, signaling to him to continue. "Uh, um, I've never actually, you know, done any of this before."

Severus thought about what Harry meant for a second before the realization hit him. Harry could hear him quietly say "fuck" before putting his head in his hands and massaging his own temples.

Harry felt utter, crushing rejection as once again he wasn't good enough for someone. First his relatives, then sometimes his friends, and now his future husband didn't want him. He started to fold into himself and the noise of a soft sob roused Severus from his thoughts.

"Potter, why the hell are you sniveling?" Severus demanded. When no response came, Severus thought about what he had just said and done. "Harry I'm not mad at you for being a virgin. I'm angry and disgusted by the fact that this situation, and primarily me, is taking one more thing away from you. Your inexperience just puts a lot pressure on me, but you have nothing to worry about. Rest assured that I will make the experience as enjoyable as possible for both of us."

His short speech did its duty and Harry stopped crying. However, he was now too embarrassed to be sharing a bed with Severus for the time being.

"I think I'm going to go work on that Potions essay you assigned. It being Sunday and all I figured I'd work on my homework now and maybe we can chat more later?"

"Alright," Severus gave a curt nod of his head before continuing. "Make sure when you go downstairs to take your potion. It's on the counter in the kitchen. Drink it before you do anything else."

Harry assented to the request before getting out of bed and heading out of the room, giving a little wave to Severus as he left.

Once Harry had exited the room, Severus fell back into his pillow, simply laying there and wondering what the hell he had gotten himself into.
