The world was in a daze. The sound of steel upon steel, screams of dying souls, and the cries of pain from the mortally wounded, she wanted it to all stop, especially the sight before her. There a chestnut haired man laid, breathing heavily as the pale vermilion haired girl cradled his head in her lap. Blood was smeared across her formerly crisp and clean clothes, it was not hers though, it belonged to the man within her embrace. He was losing too much, too fast and she was running low on time, he was slipping away from her reach right while within her grasps. Tears now cascade down her porcelain cheeks and onto the man's forehead, prompting him to open his eyes ever so slightly. Fatigue overtook the once handsome face and with a barely audible whisper he begged her to " Forgive me for leaving you early China." The crying girl shook her head," Never." She said below a deep breath, " because you're not going to die." The man chuckled, only causing him to grimace in pain and deepening the worry across the girl's face. " If not this life then the next." The girl touched her forehead against his, clasping the pair of cold hands within her own, "I know we will." Giving the prince one last kiss, she stared as a smile formed on his pale lips, and then his already droopy eyelids closed. He was gone.

A silver haired man approached the grieving vermilion haired girl, placing his hand on her shoulder, he prompted her to rise." That would have been what he wanted, don't let his death be in vain." But she shook her head, locks of vermilion hair escaping from the confines of two telephone buns, " I won't leave him. Gin-chan win the war." Gintoki did not like the tone the girl was using, its implications were ambiguous, "But…"

"No" her cerulean eyes now stating straight into his, " They need you more than I do, go, that would have been what he wanted." Reluctantly the silver haired samurai left the girl in mourning despite the ominous feeling in his guts. ," Don't do anything reckless ok?"

A faint grin formed on her previously grim face, " I could say the same."

Rejoining the fight alongside Hijikata, Kondo and the rest of the Shinsengumi, the group mowed down lawns of Amanto. But there seemed to be no end to them. From his peripheral vision, Gintoki could make out two blurs of orangish-red heads in the distance, Kamui. Slashing down an olive skinned Amanto, the silver haired samurai sprinted towards to dots of orange, but the wall of aliens was too thick, he wasn't going to make it in time.

A vermilion haired man approached the vermilion haired girl, sitting on the ground with a dead man in her laps. "You should dispose of that, little sister."

Her void cerulean eyes stared back into his equally void eyes, "Kamui" she sighed, "hurry up and do it now."

"Do what exactly little sister?" he answered with his ever persistent smile. The stare was broken and the girl returned her gaze back on the man in her lap, sweeping the chestnut hair away from his face, she answered bluntly, "Killing me."

The smile on Kamui's face disappeared, "No why would I ever do that?"

"Because I want you too." Not breaking away he gaze she held on the dead man's face.

"I can't fulfill that wi…" crimson liquid suddenly splattered across Kamui porcelain white face, staining it an unpleasant red. His eyes widen at the blade piercing through the chest of his little sister, he glances upwards to discover none other than Takasugi with the same blade in his hands.

"Why?" was the only word Kamui could force out of his throat.

"You couldn't do it, so I did."Kamui was horrified, she was gone, but the expression on her face was one of bliss, again all he could say was " Why?"
