Happy New Year my friends! I wasn't able to get the chapter out yesterday because I forgot it was New Years! I'm sorry for being a day late, I ended up combine the next chapter and this one into one long story so please forgive me for being late. This chapter takes a while before it finally gets to the book so please be patient. I also ended up adding a lemon! Anyways, I am so excited to be giving you this chapter. Here it is everybody! This is the chapter where all of my ideas are revealed. Within the next few chapters Laxus's and Lucy's fate will be forever changed! Mwahaha, just kidding... or am I? O_o From now on this story will become very different for other LaLu fanfics. It will take a chapter or two until you all understand where I'm going with this, well hopefully. Now let the story commence!

RECAP:

"We're Back!" I yelled to my family but the only response I got was that of their wide stares.

CURRENT TIME(Lucy's POV):

"LU-CHAN" I heard my blue headed best friend shout.

"Levy-chan!" I yelled running up to my best friend and giving her a hug.

"Where were you! You were gone for a whole month then you showed up one day and then left again! That's it! I have had it with you Lucy Heartfilia, you are not allowed to leave ever again or else!" Levy warned me while wagging her finger back and forth showing her anger.

"I know, I know, I know. I'm sorry, it was a surprise to me as well. I'm sorry you were so worried about me." I told Levy.

"You know who was even more worried than me? Laxus's Team! No one had any idea you were with him let alone the fact that you two went on a mission together. You guys were on a mission right? Besides that, you should have seen how panicked his team was! They had no idea where he went." Levy said making me turn around and look at the 'Strongest S-Class' (now in trouble), Lightning Dragon Slayer of Fairy Tail.

"She better just be messing with me Laxus!" I yelled at Laxus but only got a shrug as a response.

"Laxus! They have probably been worried sick about you! You know how much they care about your well-being. Now apologize!" I ordered.

"Fine I'm sorry I didn't tell them, but I told Gramps that we were going on this mission so he most likely didn't tell them or anyone just to enjoy all the panic everyone made." Laxus said.

"Don't apologize to me" I said causing Laxus to turn around and look at his stunned team mates standing behind him. He told them that he should have told them about the mission and invited them along but he wanted to focus on training me. They all nodded their heads in agreement understanding that training me alone was probably good for me. I guessed that Laxus must have already told them that he was told by Gramps to help train me. Which made me really puzzled about why he did tell the Thunder God Tribe that he was going on a mission. They worshiped the man so surely they would understand, even know they seemed just fine with the reason Laxus disappeared for a month.

"So what did you two do for an entire month all alone." Mira said walking up to us with her demonic match making aurora surrounding her. I looked over at Laxus with a look of fear plastered on my face. Laxus looked back with an almost similar look in his eyes.

"Oh, oh, Ryuu knows!" Ryuu said popping out from under Laxus's coat and landing on his shoulder facing Mira.

"Another exceed!" Levy yelled making all the other Dragon Slayer exceeds walk over to us.

"You brought back a baby!" Mira shrieked with hearts in her eyes and began to mumble something about Blonde hair and blue or brown-eyed babies. Upon hearing the word baby Master came down from his office.

"What is this I hear about Laxus, Lucy and babies?" He questioned with the same look on his face as Mira.

"There's no baby you devil woman and old man" Laxus confirmed but I was way to stunned to even comprehend the words that came out of his mouth.

"How disappointing, when you told me you were going on a month mission with Lucy all alone I was excited but I guess I got my hopes up" Master said looking upset

"I wouldn't be to sure about that gramps she smells just like-" Gajeel started but was interrupted as I snapped my whip effectively hitting him in the mouth making him stumble backwards.

"Lucy!" Levy yelled at me running over to Gajeel's said helping her best to get him steady on his feet.

"Damn Bunny Girl you did get a bit stronger, that actually stung." Gajeel said wiping the corner of his mouth causing Laxus to laugh.

"Don't underestimate Miss Lucy!" Ryuu said defending me.

"Thank you Ryuu" I told him.

"Where did you find this cute little exceed?" Levy asked picking him up.

"He was in the town where our mission was, we found him we Blondie and I were walking into town." Laxus told her.

"He looks just like you Laxus! Now you have an exceed just like the other Dragon Slayers" Evergreen said joining the conversation followed by 'That's manly' from Elfman.

"That's what I told him" I replied back to Evergreen.

"Alright! That's enough brats! Now that all my children are here I can announce this years S-Class nomination. Now everyone be quite and gather around I'll only say this once. I'm presenting the nominations a little early this year because I want to have a new S-Class before the games. Actually, I'm hoping for two new S-Class mages so that means double the amount you have to work and double the challenge of gaining S-Class. Also the pair of nominees will have to work with an already certified S-Class Mage. Meaning you and your partner will have to work with Erza, Laxus, Mira, or Gildarts up until the day of the trial. I have already told them about this. This means four teams so eight of you will be picked. After I announce who will take part I will randomly select a name from a bowl filled with the names of all the contestants and then draw another name and that is how you will be paired. Together your first task will be to select an S-Class you want to work with. The first team I draw will pick first and then so on. So now I will announce the nominations!

'Yes!' I screamed in my head. Master actually chose me! All the other nominees are going to be really hard to beat. For this challenge it would probably be in my best interest to get someone smart like Freed who can write ruines, but Gajeel has amazing reflexes and he can use his advanced dragon abilities to get ahead. I also really want to be with Gray because we were on the same team but then again Juvia and I did an amazing unison raid. I also worked with Cana during the last games and lets not forget Evergreen can fly as well as turn people into stone. Then again Elfman is pretty amazing too, he did take on an S-Class mage that Erza wasn't even sure she could beat and won. There is no way I would be able to chose my partner, thank god Master is. I looked over at Laxus to find him looking back at me. He mouthed the word 'Congrats' and looked back at master.

"Now that I have announced the nominees I will now choose your partners. First, Evergreen it looks like your partner is Juvia Lockster! Next Gajeel Redfox and Lucy Heartfilia. Third is Gray Fullbuster your partner is Freed Justine, lastly that leaves Cana Alberona and Elfman Strauss. Now in order please discuss and then choose your S-Class Mage. You have 30 minutes so think carefully." Soon Master retreated back into his office leaving everyone just staring ath the new nominees for S-Class. I looked around and watched as everyone walked towards their chosen partners as I made my way to Gajeel.

"Laxus or Erza I don't want to die from listening to Mira talk about gossip and I don't want Gildarts rambling on about his lovely daughter. Our first choice is Laxus because it will piss of Freed" Gajeel said and then turned to look at the other groups.

"It looks like Juvia and Evergreen have decided on Erza, Freed desperately is trying to convince Gray to pick Laxus instead of Erza and Cana doesn't care she just doesn't want Gildarts while Elfman is saying he wants Mira because she's manly." Gajeel told me after ease dropping on the other teams conversations. I smiled and nodded my head knowing what to do. I looked over at Laxus and caught him smirking at me already knowing our plot. I looked back at Gajeel and nodded before walking over to Gray.

"Hey Gray congrats on being nominated." I told him dragging him away from Freed.

"You too Lucy, when this is all over we'll have to finally take a mission together. I'll let you come with my on an S-Class when I win." Gray said smirking.

"If you win" I replied. "Listen Gray, you know how Gajeel can well hear better than most? Well he told me that he heard Juvia say to Evergreen that she knew when Gildarts usually trains and would have taken the team that chose him and she was planning on stalking you and Freed while you were training for the exams and well she said she was going to do things to you in your sleep. So as a warning you probably shouldn't choose Gildarts for you mentor." I said to him.

"T-thanks for the tip." Gray said looking rather pale and walked back over to Freed. I turned around and walked back over to an almost smiling Gajeel. I stepped right beside him as master once again reappeared from his office.

"Now enough time has passed teams! Evergreen and Juvia you get the first pick." Master said

"Juvia and Evergreen decided they want Erza-san as their mentor." Juvia said followed by Erza walking over and standing next to them.

"Gajeel and Lucy your turn." Master spoke.

"Laxus." Gajeel said causing Freed to let out a gasp. Laxus just laughed and walked over with Ryuu once again sitting on his shoulder.

"Freed and Gray you next."

"MIRA!" Gray shouted, his face still pale.

"Okay?" Master questioned. "Gildarts that leaves you with Cana and Elfman."

"No! you have to be kidding me! The one person I didn't want" Cana growled.

"Cana-chan that's not a very nice thing to say to you father." Gildarts said walking over to her. I looked over at Gajeel and smirked knowing we were both thinking the same thing. Cana definitely wouldn't put her mind into training because she would be trying to avoid her dad and it wasn't very widely known but Gajeel and I both knew that Freed had a thing for Mira so his mind would be else where while training. We also knew that Gray would be to focused on his surroundings looking for Juvia to pop up. This meant that the only team we really had to watch out for was Evergreen and Juvia. However we could still compromise them by finding out where Mira intends to train Freed and Gray and then tell Juvia. I knew the possibilities of where she would train them would be an endless list due to the fact that she doesn't have to be near the guild because she is having Kianna take over for her. The only people we would have to look out for would be Evergreen and Elfman considering we haven't come up with a plan to get them out-of-the-way. It shouldn't take us long to do so since we both know that they feel something for each other. Hearing myself sabotage my fellow guild mates is really starting to get to me. 'This is practically cheating! We're using their emotions to mess with them.' I yelled inside my head. Gajeel must have known I would second guess because he turned over to me and said: "No backing out now Bunny Girl. If you really want to win then you need to relax and focus. Taking them down is the only way to win. They may be our friends but starting today their our enemy." I nodded my head agreeing with him before I felt Laxus nudge my shoulder causing me to look up at him.

"He's right. I know what you both are thinking and because Gramps picked strong nominees you need to bring your A-Game. I know your second guessing and all because you care about them but it's best to get them out-of-the-way now and not later." Laxus told me. I was about to reply saying that I understood but Master interrupted me before I got the chance.

"Alright children now that, that is settled I will tell you what do from here on out. Your partner and yourself as well as your chosen mentor will work together as a team to get you to the top. Do what you feel is necessary to try to win. They may be your nakama but starting now they are your fellow opponents. You three will have to work together to find each others strengths and weaknesses. Confine in your mentor for knowledge on how they won and things to expect. (A/N: I feel like this is starting to sound like the Hunger Games :-/ ) During the exam you and our partner will have to take all the knowledge your advisor gave you and put them to the test. In order for you to become S-Class you and your partner both have to cross the finish line so try your best to stick together. This year will be the hardest exam I am making so feel free to ask any other guild members for advice. With that I leave you to your training. You have 3 months to train with your partner. Remember the Grand Magic Games happens 4 months from then so don't think you will get a break if you pass the exam. Good Luck you'll need it! Now go you brats!" Master concluded before once again returning to his office. With all the information Master just gave us firmly locked inside my head, I looked over to my temporary team and nodded. If anyone three months ago told me that I would be standing here being paired up with Gajeel and Laxus while also participation in the S-Class exams as a nominee and also DATING one of them, I would have said their insane and laughed about it but now I couldn't be happier with my life.

"I have a few ideas you guys" I told my team, "but first we need Levy's help." I told them before walking over to my blue headed friend and grabbing her arm effectively dragging her over the boys. "Okay, Levy do you think you can teach Gajeel and me a little about runes. Freed might be able to trick us up with them during the exams. Remember what happened last year? Cana and I knew nothing about them so we were the last to get to the island." I spoke.

"Yeah that's a good idea Bunny." Gajeel said nodding his head.

"Sure I should be able to teach you a little, I can focus on how Freed usually writes his runes but it could take a while." She told us.

"That's fine but you'll have to come with us. I'm taking them to a hidden training ground I found. When I'm not using them, they're all yours" Laxus told her.

"Okay that's fine" Levy said smiling.

"I know it is I can smell him on you." Laxus said smirking at Gajeel.

"Oi, so when I try to say that I get smacked in the face with a whip and you get nothing! Come on now." Gajeel said complaining.

"Gi-he-he" I replied mocking him.

"Do you two have an idea on what to do about Ever and Elfman. They're the only two not affected by your plan." Laxus asked us.

"Yeah but I need your help. Master did technically say that we could us any means necessary to win and blackmail could work. Do you know if they're like dating or anything. Evergreen is on your team after all." I wondered.

"From the nonsense I hear her talking about I would guess that, that is what they both want but they're to shy or some crap like that to do something about it."

"But how are you going to blackmail them with that?" Levy wondered still blushing like mad.

"Easy. I am going to go tell them both a little white lie, I'll be right back." I said with an evil grin. I walked over to Evergreen first just like I did to Gray I pulled her away from Juvia.

"Evergreen" I said in a whisper. "You know how Laxus can hear really good because of his Dragon Slaying abilities? Well he told me he over heard something Elfman said. I guess he was so excited for you being nominated but sad at the same time because he wanted to be pair with you." I said looking back over to my team and noticed Gajeel must have understood and made his way over to Elfman to tell him the same lie I was telling Evergreen. "Well because he was so sad about not being on your team he said that if either of your teams win he would grab you and dip you down for a kiss and then take you somewhere where no one else is and well 'give it to you.'" I said finishing my white lie and looking at her face to see it completely red.

"R-really?" She asked me.

"Would I lie?" I asked smiling my sweet heart filled smile before turning around and making my way back to Laxus and Levy.

"Damn Blondie now the only thing they will think about is each other. You sure are one conniving and convincing girl." Laxus said before Gajeel made his way back over to us. I looked over to see the damage he did to Elfman and noticed him to be in the same predicament as I left Evergreen, standing in shock and maybe a bit of joy.

"Nice idea Bunny Girl, they're now completely useless. Now let's get our stuff and bail for when anyone figures out what we're up to." Gajeel said smirking.

"Okay grab enough things for a few months as well as anything else you might need and meet at the train station by 5, that's when our train leaves." Laxus said before we all headed outside the guild. I place my head on Horologium's key and found out we had about 5 hours which was more than enough time for me to take a shower and triple check all my stuff. I saw as Gajeel and Levy left, leaving Laxus and me alone. I asked him if I could run into the grocery store really quick because I didn't have any fresh food because I had been gone for a month and he let me. Surprisingly it took my 15 minutes and we were back to walking.

"Wait, I thought your house was the opposite way?" I asked Laxus

"It is. I'm curious to see what your house looks like... and other things." He said looking down at me.

"L-laxus what about Ryuu?" I nervously asked

"Don't worry, he wanted to go with Pantherlily. If you didn't notice, while we were all plotting our guild mates destruction they hit it off, them and Carla as well as Wendy all desided to go get ice cream and said something about a park. I gave Wendy your address and told her to drop him off at 4. That gives us plenty of time to pack as well as other fun things" He told me.

"H-how did you know my address?" I questioned.

"Being a part of S-Class means you have to know almost everything about everyone in the guild. This includes address, it's mainly in case of an emergency."

"O-oh" I said not being able to shake my blush.

"Your not embarrassed are you? Lucy I love everything about you." He said in a whisper to my ear as he pulled me into his arms.

"N-no, we're here." I said before walking up the steps to my apartments with the key in hand. I looked behind me seeing Laxus looking straight at me. I slowly opened the door to my apartment. The second the lock clicked his mouth was on me. I ended up dropping the grocery bags I was holding in my hands onto the floor. I figured that I would try to finish my shower and packing before Laxus got back so that I could make him lunch considering we totally missed it.

TIMESKIP! (1 hour)

I was amazed I was able to finish what I had set out to do in only an hour. I quickly made my way over to the front door and picked up the forgotten grocery bags. Luckily nothing spoiled and I set myself to work. I decided I would make something quick and simple because Laxus would be here any second. I ended up doing a beef and rice curry with a small salad for myself. I noticed Laxus still wasn't here so I made myself a strawberry smoothie and pulled a beer out of the refrigerator for Laxus. Once I set our drinks and silverware on the table I heard the familiar crack of lightning signaling that Laxus was finally here. I heard him drop his bag on the floor and then made his way into the kitchen.

"Sorry I took so long Freed, Ever and Bixslow (Bickslow?) came over to see me off and question my about well everything. You made food, thank god I was starving." Laxus said before grabbing me by the waist a giving me a quick kiss on the lips and then made his way over to the table. We quickly sat down and began eating our food. While we were eating I asked him to tell me about his team. I wanted to know how they formed and he told me that Freed started it when Laxus saved him from a monster that was attacking his town. Apparently they became friends before Laxus was even S-Class. Soon Bixslow (Bickslow?) came and Evergreen soon followed. I smiled at hearing his story. It showed that he really cared for his team. When we were done eating and I finished washing the plates and forks, we heard a small knock on the door. I dried my hands and walked over to the door. After I opened the door I found it to be Wendy followed by the three exceeds she took with her to go get ice cream.

"Wendy! It's really nice to see you. Did Ryuu behave?" I asked the small Sky Dragon Slayer.

"Yes I missed you so much! Ryuu was perfectly fine and I guess it was his first time trying Ice Cream and he loved it." She said with a smile.

"That's great" I said picking up the groggy exceed.

"He ate a lot of ice cream so he's probably tired. Oh, I can't stay long, Cana asked me to go with her to help train for the exams. I have to go but I'll see you later and then maybe we can go on a mission together." Wendy said smiling.

"Okay we can go together anytime you want. Oh and Pantherlily, Laxus and I are getting ready to head to the train station where Gajeel is waiting. Do you want to come with us?" I asked the exceed.

"Yes, If you don't mind." Pantherlily replied.

"It's no problem at all. Thank you for bringing them Wendy. Have fun and stay safe. Bye!" I yelled to Wendy closing the door.

"Hey Lucy, what is this book?" Laxus asked picking up an older looking book.

"Oh it's a book about Dragons and Dragon Slayer I got during that solo mission I did. I can't read it though. It's in some weird language, I was going to bring it with us and have Levy try to read it. It could know some power up for Dragon Slayers Gajeel could use during the exams." I said taking the book from Laxus.

"Good Idea, now come on let's get going before we're late." Laxus said before grabbing both our bags and going to the door. I was able to put the clothes we got during our mission in my bag for Ryuu. Laxus, Ryuu, Pantherlily, and myself we now standing outside my apartment. I told the Landlady what was going on and then paid for the rent I owed for last month and paid the three months I would be gone. I locked my door and then we made our way to the train station. We were 15 minutes early and Laxus went up to the ticket booth and bought everyone tickets. Now all we had to do was wait for Gajeel and Levy. It didn't take long for them to get there. Pantherlily immediately went to stand next to his owner while Laxus handed them there tickets. When we get on board we need to find the large empty cabin in the very back. This will be a long trip and we have lots to discuses. Thinking about the long journey I remember that both Laxus and Gajeel had motion sickness so I quickly summoned Gemini and had them turn into Wendy.

"Can you both use Wendy's Troia so that Gajeel and Laxus don't get motion sickness for our trip?" I asked my spirit friend.

"Yes, we can." Gemini replied and then went to work casting the spell over Laxus and Gajeel.

"Thank you, you both can leave now." I told them and then with a poof they were back in the Spirit World.

"Oi, let's get on the train it's here." Gajeel said to our small group. We all then made our way over to the docking station and boarded the train. Just like Laxus instructed us, we made our way to the very back of the train and got inside the larger cabin. Inside the cabin there was a table that could be used as a desk with four chairs, two on each side. Along one side of the compartment there was a cushioned seat with a few blankets as well as a pillow placed on top that could be easily converted into bed, on the opposing side their was a door let led to a private restroom and on the wall was a map of Fiore and a clock. Above the padded seat was a giant pouch that stored travelers' luggage. Laxus and Gajeel both but all of our belongings up into the basket while me and Levy sat at the table.

"Laxus can you hand me my backpack before you out it up there? I wanted to show Levy that book." I asked Laxus. He nodded before grabbing my bag back down and un-zipping it. He reached in and pulled out the rather large book before re-zipping the bag and putting it back where it was. Once all the bags were over head he turned around and handed me the old book. I then handed the book over to Levy. I watched as Levy opened the book to a random page before turning my attention the boys as the began to sit in the chairs across from us. I looked at Gajeel to see he was curious in what Levy was looking at and then looked over to see Laxus curious as well. I smiled at the fact that he was really interesting in learning more about his artificial magic. I wasn't sure if he even cared about Dragon Slaying Magic but seeing him like this made me realize otherwise. My thoughts were interrupted once I heard a gasp come from my best friends mouth.

"Lu-Chan, where did you find this?" She questioned

"I found it while doing a mission, the mayor let me keep it. I guess it got stolen from one of the towns members by a bunch of thieves." I told her

"It's incredible! It took me a little while to understand the language but I think I understand now. It's a lost book Lucy! It has all the history of all the dragons. See how there are blank pages in the back." She said turning to show me. "It's a magic book that continues on and on and on as time goes by. It has every dragon that has ever existed in here. All of the Dragons that the Dragon Slayers know should be in here too! Maybe we can find out where they went! But that's not it, there's more. It also tells about the rules that every Dragon and every Dragon Slayer must follow." Levy exclaimed.

"Well read it shrimp!" Gajeel said about to jump out of his seat.

"I know I'm trying, a lost book means a lost language. I'm only able to understand a few words give me a minute." Levy said trying to calm the Dragon Slayer

"Why don't you stat from the beginning." I told her causing her to flip the pages back to the front.

"Okay, Chapter 1: The Existence of Dragons. In the far past during the B.C. time era a new species began to populate at a huge scale this species is the Dragon. Dragons are can range from widely tempered to mild and calm. A Dragon is a being that was-" Levy began but was interrupted. "Skip to the next one this I boring." Gajeel said making Levy huff in annoyance.

"Fine, Chapter 2" Levy began skipping to the right page. "Laws and Ways of the Almighty Dragon. Better Gajeel?" She asked, pausing her reading. Gajeel nodded and she continued on. "Though all Dragons have different abilities and powers, they are still connected by a great force. This force it what most Dragons call The Dragon Law and others, mainly mortals call The Way of the Great Ones. This Law is actually more of a set of Laws or Rules. Every Dragon must follow these ways in order to achieve greatness, which some may call happiness. However, there are some Dragons that choose to not follow these instructed morals and those that stray from the Dragon Rules are led to a great downfall." Levy said before taking a breath and turning the page. "This is weird." Levy began but ended up shrugging her shoulders before continuing to read.

"Before I begin to tell you the Dragon Laws I must first instruct you of the ways of Dragon Slayers. However, I will tell you one of the most important rules to being a Dragon first. It's almost like this book was meant for a class." Levy said. "The Dragon Rule is that every Dragon must produce an offspring that is capable of wielding the same power or element as its Dragon Parent. A Dragon must produce a child before a Dragon is ordered to leave by the Dragon King. Dragons must mate with another Dragon but if they are unable to then they have the option to mate with a mortal. If a Dragon is unable to produce a child with a mortal then they must adopt a child. Wait with a mortal?" Levy questioned. "Dragons have the option to tell the mortal or mate they choose that he or she is a Dragon. Now, I must explain the fact that Dragons have the ability to take on the appearance of a mortal at will. Okay this is strange." Levy said. "None of the Dragons told their Slayer anything about this stuff. But I'll continue anyways. Most mortals that birth a half dragon child will usually pass on, leaving just the child. A Dragon's child that has a mortal parent is called a Dragon Slayer. When this happens the Dragon must train the child to learn the Dragons own magic until the Dragon is summoned to the Dragon Kings side. Female Dragons have the option to stay with their mate and raise the child with them. These children are called 1st Generation Dragon Slayers. A Dragon that has been called to the Dragon Kings side and is unable to train his or her child must remove a part of their soul that contains a portion of their magic inside, this is called a Dragon's Crystal. Some mortals call it a Dragon Lacrima. A Dragon must place this crystal either in the child themselves or must give the child's other parent the crystal. When this happens the child is called a 2nd Generation Dragon Slayer. No human can survive a Dragon Crystal being placed inside of them if they are not half Dragon. Many Half Dragons have a hard time themselves surviving the placement. The last Generation Dragon Slayer or the 3rd Generation have been both raised by a Dragon and learned their magic as well as had a Dragon Crystal been placed inside them. This happens when a Dragon wishes their Dragon Slaying child to replace them when the time is right. 3r Generation Dragon Slayer have to prove themselves by killing their Dragon Parent. If they do so then the Dragon King is the only one that can change the Slayer into a Dragon." Levy said finishing the page and closing the book not begin able to read anymore. We all sat their taking in the information that was just said. As I thought about it I realized that what was readmeant that Laxus's mother had to have been a Dragon. The book said that there was no way a normal mortal could survive the placement. This meant that his mother could still be alive! I quickly looked over to Laxus who had probably come to the same realization that I had.

"I know what your thinking. If the information in this book is true, then that means... My mother my still be alive but it also means she is a Dragon."
