For slayerchronicles- sorry it's taken so long! It may not be exactly what you wanted, but I'm going to try my best and I had an idea ^_^

David and Ava took Max and Alexa around Welling, trying to detour him from McDonalds and visit the little cafes and bakeries. He had the most fun, strangely, in the supermarket- Morrisons- whizzing about on the trolley with Alexa in the seat and giggling like mad. He piled in the store's brand doughnuts, hearing many tales of how amazing they were from his British companions, stopped short by some of the British chocolate. Alexa got a rubber duck at some point- not sure how, she just did- and threw it when she had to get out of the trolley, causing a quick duck hunt. Ava held onto her daughter firmly after that, ordering Max to hold onto the duck. "I'm not having a stroppy brat for a daughter, no way."

"She's only eight months. Does she understand?"

"It'll sink it. You don't give her what she wants until she behaves. And by behaves, I mean behaves for the sake of doing as her told, not because she wants something. Yes?" Ava fixed the stink eye on him.

"Yes." Max agreed. He looked to David, who shrugged. Children weren't his strong point either. Max squeezed the duck, getting a cheery squeak from it and smiled, dropping it in one of the bags. He and David carried them out, Ava still holding Alexa in a literal death trap. "Any news on this Tumblr girl?" Max asked. David stuck his bottom lip out. Ava glanced over her shoulder as the silence drew out, brow furrowing.

"Is she messing you around?"

"No, she's... just not replying at the minute. She may be busy, work and stuff, and that's fine. A little disheartening, but fine. I understand." Max elbowed him and smiled. Ava sent him a bewildered look.

"If worse comes to worst, you can have this nutter." He nodded at Ava who glared. David laughed.

"I'm not as brave as you." Max and Ava stopped in their tracks suddenly; David bumped into her. "What?"

"Your... um..." Max blinked and then started to snicker. David turned to Ava imploringly; she was doing her best not to laugh too, lips pressed tightly together. David turned again, catching sight of his reflection in a shop window and sighed. His scruffy blond hair now hung about his shoulders in ridiculously curly ringlets and almost neon green. "Is that, uh..." Max caught himself, clearing his throat and looking highly amused, "is that normal?"

"It is!" A small figure bounced into the midst of their group, spinning and then hopping on the spot, switching feet every few hops. "Hello!" The figure beamed, rotating as she hopped to say hello to them all, cooing at Alexa. She too had green hair, but not as bright as David's new style, like leaf green. Ava squinted and saw this was a dye job, the beginnings of sunset-auburn roots coming through. Max was struck by the abnormal colour of her eyes- Ava had eyes that resembled lava, this girl had eyes that resembled amethysts. Contacts, maybe?

David reached out and grabbed this crazy girl by the shoulder, effectively stopping her from bouncing. She was five foot three, a real petite thing- Max could only thing of one way to describe her dress sense and that was skater; checkered Vans, ripped skinny jeans, some obscure band T-shirt and a snapback cap in her hand, bouncing against her thigh. "Sup." She grinned.

"Change it back."

"But you look so pretty!" She gushed. David's shoulders slumped and his expression tightened. "Ugh, fine. You're so miserable." She added, waving her hand. David's hair returned to its normal length and colour.

"Ava, Max," David sighed, "this is Sal." The girl cleared her throat and shook her head, green tresses of hair billowing about her shoulders. "Fine. Salem. Yes, like the Salem witch trials; yes, her mother is Hecate and yes, they're all very witchy with a sense of ironic humour. Sal, this is Max and Ava and baby Alexa."

"Hi!" Salem started bouncing again. "Oh my gods, are those doughnuts?" She grabbed at the bag in David's hand and danced away. Max and Ava exchanged looks and then faced David, looking for answers.

"You'll get used to it." He said, marching after his friend. Using her magic, she had let herself into Ava's shop and was waiting upstairs for them in the flat, slouching on the sofa, feet on the coffee table and scoffing down doughnuts like no tomorrow. "Sal, manners!"

"Oh." She managed around her mouthful. She didn't move except to stick her little finger out, eyes twinkling mischievously. She sat and stared at Max until she had polished off three doughnuts. Then something clicked behind her eyes and she was on her feet, powdered sugar flying everywhere. "OH MY GODS, MAX JACKSON? DAVEY, WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?"

"She calls you Davey too?"

"Where d'you think killerbooks got it from?" David sighed and shook his head, muttered something about putting the kettle on.

"So, Sal-"

"Ooh, don't call me Sal. I don't like it."

"But David-"

"Doesn't like being called Davey." She shrugged, as if that summed everything up and immediately switched back to fangirl mode. "I CAN'T BELIEVE I AM FACE TO FACE WITH A JACKSON, OH MY GODS, THIS IS AMAZING!"

"Eh, I'm over it." Ava dropped Alexa in Max's arms and went to help make the tea. Salem sent her the most confused look, as though Ava had just denied Santa ever existing. Ava smiled and waggled her fingers at her. Salem seemed to put all questions about Ava to one side, turning to more pressing matters- a Jackson.

"I'M A HUGE FAN!"

"You're also really loud."

"I DON'T CARE! YOU JACKSONS ARE AWESOME!"

"Doesn't always feel that way."

"DO YOU THINK I CAN MEET YOUR PARENTS?"

"Do you think you could use your inside voice?" David called.

"THERE IS NO INSIDE VOICE FOR SOMETHING THIS BIG!"

"It's just Max." Ava rolled her eyes.

"She's very exciteable." David explained.

"I can tell." Max and Ava said together. Salem started squealing, digging the heels of her hands into her cheeks and gushing.

"I TOTALLY SHIP MAVA!"

"That's reassuring, but please-"

"CAN I MEET YOUR PARENTS?"

"Why-?"

"THEY'RE SO COOL!"

"It's Mom and Dad, it's-"

"THEY- ARE- SO- COOL!" Salem glared at him defiantly. Max looked to the other two British people, hoping for help with this maniac. He wasn't going to get any. "I'LL EVEN ATTEMPT THIS ATROCIOUS INSIDE VOICE MELARKY, LET ME MEET THEM!"

"Sal, you could have met them at any time now the camps are joined."

"I'VE SEEN THEM AT A DISTANCE, BUT I'VE NEVER TALKED TO THEM BEFORE! I NOW HAVE A DIRECT CONNECTION, I WILL KIDNAP YOU IF I HAVE TO!" She warned, jabbing a finger at Max.

"That's a bit extreme." Max mumbled.

"Help yourself." Ava smirked.

"I WANT TO MEET YOUR FAMILY!"

"I'm getting some serious stalker vibes from this one." Max hissed.

"You're only getting them now? My gods, Max," Ava passed a hand through her hair, shaking her head, "you wouldn't know the world was ending until it smacked you on the head." Max grumbled some obscenities. Alexa looked up at him, wrinkling her tiny nose.

"What?" Max demanded. Alexa said nothing, wiggling in his arms. Max caught a whiff of her diaper and held her at arm's length.

"THAT REMINDS ME!" Salem threw her hands up and started chanting in a foreign tongue. Ava dashed forward and grabbed her daughter, pulling her out of the way of this magic; David didn't seem worried, just curious. Salem's attention was focused on Max, who suddenly couldn't move his feet. He felt his chest constrict and struggled. "DONE!" She exclaimed a few minutes later, looking highly pleased with herself. Max stomped his feet and exhaled slowly.

"What did you do? And quietly this time, you're giving me a headache."

"Wuss." Salem scoffed, planting her hands on her hips. "And I cured your bloodlust thing. You're welcome!"

"Wait, what?"

"You're welcome!"

"How-?"

"You're welcome!"

"Sal, let him-"

"YOU'RE WELCOME!"

"And we're back to screaming." David sighed, shaking his head. "Tea?"
