Prolouge: Thoughts Of A Past Lover

"I'm worried about Haruka again," Rin thinks to himself. It's been yet another long week at school and the pool is the only thing on his mind. Apart from Haruka that is. How his eyes are the same color as the blue, glistening pool. Australia is too far away and it's been far too long. He can't contain his feelings anymore for him and finds himself talking about Haruka around the house.

"He would have been a really good swimmer. Better than me I suppose," Rin tells Gou as she fixes her hair.

"We moved all the way here for your swimming and all you're worried about is your little boyfriend who's all the way back in Japan," she snickers.

"You're such a brat, you know that?," Rin pulls on her hair and runs downstairs to steal her breakfast.

As he swooshes past the door, his mother yells out, "Aren't you having any breakfast? Why are you taking Gou's?"

He runs backwards and places a piece of toast in his mouth. "I'm late already," he says through his teeth and runs for class.

Rin has been keeping a secret from his family for this entire time. He's not exactly the best swimmer, not even close. He gets picked on every day by the others for his small built body and inability to swim as quickly as them. He continues to practice anyways thinking that Haruka has become an amazing swimmer in the time that he's been gone. He hopes that when he returns to Japan some day that they'll be able to swim together. "My little dolphin," he says underneath his breath.

"Practice in 5!," the coach yells.

Rin looks to the sky and hopes that Haruka is looking at it as well. "We'll be together soon," he thinks.
