Previous Chapter Recap: Last time on Kid Icarus: Uprising! Armed with the Great Sacred Treasure, Pit ventured to the Underworld to confront Hades. The two battled it out to the bitter end. Starting in the Underworld and moving to the Overworld, the climatic clash drove our hero to the breaking point. but when the curtain fell, Pit was victorious! But just as he was starting to relax, he and Palutena receive an unexpected message.

It had been five days since Hades was defeated. Pit and Palutena were in the dining room of the temple cleaning up after the party they held celebrating Hades's defeat. They would've held it much sooner, but they spent the last four days trying to clean up the damages caused by the war. But that wasn't to say that nothing good came out of it. By helping to repair the human world, Palutena and the others managed to improve the humans' faith in the gods. They also managed to make a compromise with Viridi. Viridi could keep her Reset Bombs on the grounds that she no longer use them to attack humans. Adhering to the condition, Viridi reprogrammed her bombs to restore destroyed forests to their original states. Though she would warn humans when a Reset Bomb was falling.

Pit had also made several requests for Dark Pit to officially join Palutena's army, but each attempt was met with refusal. But Palutena made an offer he couldn't refuse. She was opening up a boot camp to train her Centurions and she needed someone to run it. So, she asked Dark Pit, knowing that he'd much rather give orders than take them. Dark Pit surprisingly accepted. Of course he also helped Pit and Palutena when needed. Dyntos also came by and repaired the Great Sacred Treasure under the condition that Pit would use it only when it was absolutely necessary. As an added bonus, he also rebuilt the Three Sacred Treasures.

After four days of repairing the human realm, Palutena hosted a party at her temple. Everyone was there to celebrate. From Viridi and the Forces of Nature, to even Dyntos, Pyrrhon, and Poseidon. There was music, food, and games. A fun time was had by all. When the party ended, Pit and Palutena started to clean up. But just as they were finishing up, an unexpected and oh-so unwanted voice chimed in. "I must say. That was a lovely party." The voice said. "Lady Palutena. Tell me that I'm just hallucinating and that wasn't Hades's voice I just heard." Pit said.

"Sorry, Pit" Palutena replied. "But that was."

"How's that possible?!" Pit asked. "I fried him with a giant laser, for crying out loud! He should be dead!"

"Gods cannot truly die, Pit." Palutena began. "Our physical bodies can be destroyed, but our spirits will still live on."

"She's right." Hades said. "I must say I am impressed. Such a teeny little angel defeating such a big, bad god of the Underworld. Why, Pitty... that must make you the most powerful Nintendo character of all time! I'm actually rather proud of you. 8-bit Pit would have never made it this far. But don't worry, I'm not going to tear up the credits again. The fanfic really is over."

"Then what do you want, Hades?" Pit asked, not bothering to hide the annoyance in his tone. "Why, Pitty. I'm merely here to delete this fanfic!" Hades replied. "What?! You can't do that!" Pit shouted. "Too late! 1, 2, 3, gone!" Hades replied. But unsurprisingly nothing happened. "Nawwww, I'm just messing with you, buddy... Settle down." Hades said. "The story's safe. I mean, I don't even have a body anymore. Couldn't delete a fanfic if I wanted to. I'm not even sure I can be resurrected in this state. There's the real tragedy. This dashing physique, this literally godly body, gone forever?! Ladies everywhere are no doubt weeping as we speak! Your fault!"

"Yeah, I feel so guilty." Pit replied with obvious sarcasm. "How will I ever sleep again?"

"Love the sarcasm." Hades said. "Oh, well. I'll figure something out. I have, what, 25 years until the next sequel? Or until the author decides to write one himself. Anywho, I'm just here to deliver a message for the readers, telling them that can always revisit me and other...friends...in the chapters they've read. They can read our battles over and over again like a favorite book, or a broken record! Oh, and if the mood strikes them, they can read some of the other Kid Icarus fanfics the author wrote. My personal favorite is the one where he shipped you with Panty Anarchy. That was hilarious."

"Yeah, it's real funny." Pit said. "But just know that if you do come back and cause trouble, I'll take you down!"

"Looking forward to it!" Hades replied. "So here's to Kid Icarus: Uprising The Novelization - my new favorite fanfic of all time. Thanks for reading! Hades...out!"

"So Hades'll probably be back soon, huh?" Pit asked somberly with a heavy sigh. "It just never ends." Palutena walked over to put a hand on his shoulder. "And that's why we're here, Pit." Palutena said. "To help defend humanity from evil, be it the Underworld or something else." Pit looked up to her with a smile. "Yeah. But we did have fun on this adventure, plenty of twists and turns. I'm kinda sad it's over."

"This adventure might be over, but others still await." Palutena said. "But for now, let's just try to enjoy the peace and tranquility while it lasts."

"Aye-Aye, Lady Palutena." Pit replied as he and Palutena finished cleaning the dining room.
