Vermilion's Comet

The effects of one comet could potentially bring in changes that could destroy Fairy Tail, Magnolia, and even Fiore as they knew it. Funny thing is that comet can only affect Fairy Tail (and anyone who happens to be inside it.) Can someone say crack fic? NaLu Gruvia GaLe Jerza and many other pairings.

Af1-chan: Hey guys! I'm back. I know it's been a while, but I hope you'll still read and review this chapter. Due to school, I neglected to post for my birthday (April 3rd, although you could probably care less), Hiro Mashima's birthday (May 5 :D), and pretty much every freaking holiday since whenever I last posted, so I'm trying to write all my stories to celebrate these dates. Thankfully I'm on summer vacation now! (To an extent). Anyways, I don't own Fairy Tail and all that yada, so let's get on with this shindig!

Last time…

"Elfman, Wakaba, Macao, Meredy, Evergreen, and Laki, focus on finding a way out." Jellal commanded. "Wendy, please detoxify Laxus, and Romeo, calm Freed down."

"Ehh~, leave me be, this is fun!" Laxus hiccupped.

"LAXUS! Get a hold of yourself!" Freed shouted frantically.

"Roger!" The two kids said, saluting.

"Why do I have to work with these buffoons~?" Evergreen whined, storming over to where most of her group had gathered.

"Who gave you the right to order us around?" Natsu grumped.

"Yeah!" Gray and Gajeel said in unison.

"Natsu, stop being an idiot. Gray, Gajeel, same for you." Erza said, shooting them murderous looks before continuing. "Lyon, Sherry, Trimens revive Ichiya. Lucy, call Crux back out and see if he can gather more information. Lisanna and Kinana, search Mirajane's workspace for clues. Exceed squad, do your thing. Jet, Droy and Nab, be useful. Levy, take Cana and Gajeel to try and get in the basement again. This time, no foolery." Erza ordered.

"Aye sir!"

"We shall help Gajeel!"

"I-It wasn't what you think…"Levy said, walking towards the back of the guild.

"Gihee."

"Alright~, Cana-chan won't allow any kissy kissy business between you two!"

"C-Cana!"

"Kissy…?" Jet repeated in shock.

"Levy~!" Droy cried.

"We're useful…" Nab sighed.

"Finally, Warren, make sure everything goes smoothly and Max, keep track of the time." Erza said.

"Hai, Erza! It is now 6:00 pm." Max informed her.

"Come again?" Jellal asked, looking at him incredulously.

"It's six pm…" Max repeated warily.

"S-Six?" Erza gasped.

"We're gonna die~!" Wendy yelled.

"Wendy, it's okay! Just heal Laxus!" Freed begged, ignoring Romeo's feeble pats on the arm.

How could I let all this time pass…? Where did the time go…? Erza thought, kneeling down on the floor in defeat.

Chaos began to bubble within the guild again. Sensing this change, Jellal decided to step in. "Minutes must not be wasted! Night fall is upon us!" The bluenette shouted out, covering for the distraught Erza.

"Hai!" The guild members sang out in unison before beginning their tasks.

"Crisis avoided." Jellal said, offering the scarlet haired mage his hand.

"Yeah. Thanks, Jellal." Erza smiled taking his hand.

Unfortunately for these conflicted lovers, within a matter of hours, the chaos that had already ensued in the guild would be pushed to levels it had never reached before, and calamity was bound to ensue. And little did they know that they were being watched.

Chapter 4

The search for the secret of Vermillion's Comet droned on end for hours. The guild's morale was dropping fast, and it was beginning to become evident on the faces of even the most spirited members. For Erza, the tension was nerve wracking, but with Jellal by her side, she couldn't help but believe everything would be alright.

"Status report!" Jellal demanded.

"Crux can't find anything…" Lucy reported sadly.

"Ichiya-san is beginning to come to, but he's still kind of out of it…" Sherry reported.

"Mira has completely barracked all windows, doors, and openings, and there also seems to be a magic barrier around the guild as well…" Laki said with a sigh.

"Exceed squad found fish!" Happy said cheerfully, eliciting a glare from Carla.

"Laxus is so intoxicated that it will take a whole 'nother hour to sober him up." Wendy said dejectedly.

"Freed is still hyperventilating…" Romeo added, shaking his head.

"We managed to get in the basement, but no clues were to be found." Gajeel reported with his arms folded across his chest.

"There was no canoodling on my watch." Cana added with a devious smirk.

"Cana!" Levy protested.

"I'm restraining Gray-sama!" Juvia said, squeezing this ice mage tightly.

"I'm being restrained…" Gray groaned.

"I'm helping Lucy!" Natsu said, giving Lucy a mighty hard pat on the back.

"And we're offering moral support!" Jet, Droy and Nab yelled in unison from the sidelines.

"In a short, things are going as smoothly as possible." Warren said awkwardly.

"So there's been no progress whatsoever?" Jellal asked in disbelief.

"Hai…" Warren answered, looking down at the floor.

"And to top it all off, the comet will be arriving any minute…" Max added sadly.

"That's just great." Gray grumbled. "We'll never get out of here."

"That's because you're pessimistic," Natsu said, sneering at Gray.

"Oh yeah flamebreath? So go ahead and tell me your bright ideas on how to escape from this hell trap!" The ice mage shouted.

"I'll bust a way out of here!" Natsu declared triumphantly, taking off in a full on sprint.

"No, Natsu! You idiot!" Lucy cried.

Despite her cries, he launched himself toward the ceiling anyway.

"Fire dragon's iron fist!" He shouted, hitting the ceiling at full force.

The ceiling bent inward like rubber and slung Natsu toward the ground like a swatted fly. He crashed head first into the bar counter, sending booze, glass, barrels and silverware flying everywhere.

"Damn…" Gray said with a sweat drop.

"Oh my…" Lisanna gasped. "Are you okay?"

Natsu stood up woozily. "That ceiling was much tougher than I expected…" He slurred, stumbling around the rubble.

"Dammit Natsu! You idiot!" Gray shouted.

"Now lloook… icey fresh… I've had enough of you and everybody in this room… calling me an idiot…" He swung weakly at the black haired mage but missed and fell on his face.

"Dude, are you okay?" Gray asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I've never… been better *hiccup*." The fire mage replied.

"He must of accidently ingested a lot of booze when he crashed." Lucy said, shaking her head.

"And he probably sustained a concussion." Lisanna added.

He stood up and stumbled towards Lucy with a mischievous smirk on his face. "Don't worry Lucy… I'll get us out of here!" Natsu said, launching himself at the ceiling again.

"Like I said, that's the last thing I want you to do right now!" Lucy yelled after him.

"Natsu, please sit down." Lisanna said, covering her face with her hand in shame.

Ignoring their pleas, the discombobulated Natsu sored toward the roof and hit it with all the force he could muster, sending him flying around the guild, bouncing from wall to wall. Everyone looked on in amazement at the fire-mage-turned-rubber-ball as it seemed as if he'd never stop. After several more seconds, he bounced from the right wall of the guild to the ceiling, smashing a gigantic hole in it before falling in what seemed like slow motion to the ground.

"Oh my gosh!" Lucy exclaimed, frantically running over to the dragon slayer. "Natsu! Are you okay?" She cradled his head in her arms gently, trying to avoid hurting him as much as possible.

Natsu opened his eyes slowly and looked her worried face in the eye, letting out a pained grunt. "I regret nothing…"

"Guys! Look out the ceiling hole!" Levy shouted, distracting Lucy from the dragon slayer. She turned her attention to the ceiling, letting his head hit the ground with a loud thud.

Everyone's heads snapped toward the freshly created hole in the ceiling to find that the normally hazy purple sky was tainted by an incredibly bright platinum white star traveling through the sky. Its pigment radiated outward, almost making the night look like day. It soared through the atmosphere at a snail's pace, which only increased the anxiety of the guild as they looked on in horror.

"The comet is coming!" Someone shouted.

"What are we going to do?" Lucy asked frantically.

There is was again—that chaotic murmuring beginning to surface in the guildhall. Jellal felt Erza squeeze his arm nervously. He knew he had to speak up. "We're going to stay calm and-"

"We're going to fucking die!" Wendy cried, tears streaming down her face. Romeo ran over to console her

"No, no no no..." He began again only to be interrupted once more.

"The comet is going to disrupt our brains and-and-and-and we're all going to turn on each other and become cannibals and-and no one is going to leave until there is a victor!" Happy yelled in a crazed fashion. His eyes swirled with madness and he turned to stare his beloved white cat—who was subtly inching away from him—in the eye. "Don't worry Carla..." He said creepily, "we'll get through this together. Just you and me..."

"Someone help me!" Carla cried, flying toward the hole made in the ceiling.

"Don't run from destiny, Carla..." Happy muttered, flying after her.

"Can someone please go stop them...?" Jellal said, face palming.

"I guess that's my job…" Pantherlily said with a sigh, taking off after them.

Before he could even get five feet off the ground, the lights cut to black, leaving the guild in complete and utter darkness. Screams erupted throughout the guild, and everyone began to run in every possible direction, bumping into walls, pillars, and each other.

"Goddammit." Jellal swore over the chaos. As if the former situation wasn't bad enough already.
