I wrote this back in 2011, but only just recently found it in the black hole that is my writing folder. Oh, well - better late than never. I'm just happy that I'm finally adding something to the archive for this manhwa. Let Dai deserves so much more love...

~Entangled~

In this space, there are no changing seasons. Here, it is eternal winter: unrelenting cold and snatched glimpses of sunlight slipping through your fingers. The thought comes to bottle it and keep it on your nightstand, but the sun moves on before you can give chase.

You huddle into the body next to you, and you both draw warmth from one another.

Together, you fall into hibernation.

In this space, there is no time to pass.

Slowly, you begin to stir once more. He is already awake, and you look into his eyes, luxuriating in the warmth there. The sun shines through the blinds, but you take no notice.

He is your light.

You lean in and press your lips to his, and together you melt like snow under the fast-rising temperatures of spring.

It occurs to you – and not for the first time – that no other person has ever meshed with you better. He is the matching puzzle piece to your own; just the right amount of smooth and jagged edges that clasp to you as if part of a design. Together, you and he are the last of a dying breed. It is a lonely existence made bearable because you have each other.

The two of you are cut from the same cloth – and maybe that's why no-one else can hurt you so tenderly and love you so viciously.

You both lie there after, panting and clasping hands. Scars of the flesh that were inflicted long ago are traced lazily while the scars of the soul are reflected in each other's eyes.

It is both painful and exquisite, and you wish that you could look away, but find yourself unable.

There is no turning back.

The question forms on your lips.

"But, you can't do it! Why?"

The answer flashes in his eyes like lightning.

"Because we are one!"

And you wouldn't have it any other way.
