Shoving her hands in her pocket, the raven haired girl glanced at the city with glowing green eyes from under her hood. She was smaller than the average thirteen-year-old girl, obviously thinner, with an over-sized blue hoodie, baggy red shorts, and filthy blue sneakers that have been everywhere. Her eyes dulled down to a natural icy blue as she headed down the street.
The girl weaved through the busy street, moonlight barely lighting up her face as she turned the corner, hoping to find a somewhat quiet place to doze before moving on. Eyes searching the dingy alleyway, she leaned against the wall of the building.
"Out so late, sweetie?"
Her eyes snapped open, landing on three men in their early twenties, tattoos, and a large smirk on the middleman.
"Why is a little girl like you out in the city alone, hmm? Need a place to stay?"
"No, but I'm sure you need to stop chasing after teenage girls that are way out of your league." She shrugged. "It's Dani, not 'little girl'."
Suddenly, she was yanked up by the arm and face to face with the large man. "Don't talk to me like that you little brat."
"Yeah, don't want any trouble missy."
"Rough her up, Bill!"
Bill aimed for a punch, but Dani's arm turned intangible and slipped through his grip. She then swung her leg at his feet, knocking him over.
"No more Mr. Nice Guy now!" Bill yelled, grabbing at Dani's foot. She fell, and her attacker stood over her. "Little brat should be put down."
"Yeah!" one of his lackeys cried.
He went for another punch, but a white flash appeared and her entire body went intangible. She suddenly appeared behind him, but this time she had snow-white hair, acid green eyes, and was in a black and white jumpsuit. Two green flames appeared in her hands, and she shot it towards them. "Get out!"
They tripped over themselves fleeing, and Dani sighed with relief as they were out of sight. She allowed the glowing rings to transform her back to a human, and she leaned back against the wall.
I can't do this. I've been on the run for over two months, I've crashed in a cargo load going to Paris after being attacked by those stupid ghost birds, and now I've been attacked by disgusting men. Dani thought as she went back to the main street. I need to find somewhere where I can stay for a long period of time.
Walking along, she found herself passing a large wall. She followed along until there was a gate with a sign that said: Kadic Academy/ Boarding School.
Dani grinned and turned intangible to walk through the gate. She saw a large man in a red jumpsuit patrolling the campus, so she forced two rings to appear at her waist, transforming her back to a ghost. "Get out, get out, get out, get out..." she hissed as the flashlight appeared at where she was standing. As soon as it left, Dani went back tangible.
"Don't melt just yet, Danielle." She whispered to herself, holding herself together (literally), and ran across campus. "You're going to boarding school."

New clothes which I still need to repay the store sometime for, food that I didn't directly steal, and a roof over my head which I didn't pay for nor did anyone else. Great way to start.
Those were Dani's thoughts when she was unloading in her new room with an unknown girl living with her.
"Jeremy, I know... Give me five minutes, I'll be at the factory in- Who are you?" a pink haired girl shut off her phone, staring at Dani.
"No one told you? I'm your new roommate, Dani... Fenton." Dani introduced herself, feeling awkward about stealing Danny's name.
"I have... No, no, no, this can't be happening..." her roommate clutched her hair in stress.
"Well, your roommate who is wondering why you don't like her before you've even met me properly is wondering what your name is," Dani smiled.
"Oh, Aelita Stones, not you, its the fact of a roommate, sharing the same room with me, which sounds strange," Aelita said.
"No, perfectly normal," Dani shrugged.
"Oh, so why did you come here-" Aelita was cut off by a ringing cell phone, which she picked up. "Jeremy! Fine, I'm coming."
"Your boyfriend?"
Aelita blushed and quickly exited.

Dani found herself in the cafeteria after Aelita went missing for the rest of the afternoon. Grabbing her tray, she immediately crashed into another person, who had five times more food than her.
"Sorry!" Dani said, wiping off the meatball juice and mashed potatoes.
"Hmm, you seem new," the boy said, smirking at her, picking a meatball off his shirt.
"I am. You seem odd." Dani shot back.
"I am. My name's Odd, Odd Della Robbia." the boy smiled, brushing off mashed potatoes from his purple jacket.
"Danielle Fenton."
"Should I call you Ellie?"
"Don't."
Odd beamed at her, and got up. "Wanna sit with me and my friends?"
"You sure?"
"Why not?"
"Because you don't seem very sane,"
"I'll take that a compliment."
"Sure, Della Robbia."
"Hey, no one called me that except for Jim."
"Odd, are you hitting on another girl?" a German boy asked, walking up.
"Yeah, but he crashed." Dani smiled. "I'm Dani."
"Ulrich Stern."
"C'mon Ulrich, you don't think I can make another date with a new girl?"
"Neither do I." Dani mentioned.
"Nice call."
Ulrich helped her up, and Odd went back for more food. Once they were all recollected, Dani was eating with Odd, Ulrich, and an Asian girl name Yumi Ishiyama.
"Why did you come here?"
"I wanted to see the world, so my dad paid for me to come to France." Dani lied smoothly. A nerdy boy and Aelita walked up.
"Hi Aelita, and you must be Jeremy." Dani greeted.
"Who's this?" Jeremy asked.
"I'm Aelita's new roommate." Dani introduced herself.
"Wait, your Aelita's roommate?" Yumi asked, and Dani nodded.
Jeremy, Yumi, Odd, and Ulrich just realized this was going to be going very south.
