Caleb Prior pressed his ear against the door, even though he knew he shouldn't have. Eavesdropping was self-indulgent. Even after switching to Erudite, he still couldn't change his old Abnegation habits. But he listened anyways.

He heard Beatrice-no, Tris, now-complaining about Tobias saying that she wanted to read the water filtration manual. Caleb felt rather taken aback and hurt. No wonder she hadn't gone to Abnegation.

Then there was Tobias relaying their conversation to Tris, and then...silence. He opened the door a crack and found them kissing.

Tobias pushed Tris against the wall. His hands were on her hips, her hand slipping under the back of his t-shirt, fingers spreading across the small of his back. Caleb narrowed his eyes; nobody should be touching his little sister that way. They were pressed so close together that he couldn't see the end of Tobias and the beginning of Tris. Tobias's hands were gripping on her waist. The moan that escaped Tris's mouth made him clench his fists. Caleb couldn't stand to see anymore of this, so he closed the door quietly and resumed eavesdropping.

"This isn't what you came for."

"No."

"What did you come for, then?"

"Who cares?" Caleb supposed that his sister had changed since moving to Dauntless, but he hadn't known how much. She was more outspoken, less reserved, and all in all very different.

There was silence again, but Caleb didn't open the door; he knew what was going on behind it already.
