#28: Fearless.

Third POV:

Amy ran her hand through her blond hair in frustration before setting her old, battered hat on her head again. She stomped her feet slightly in annoyance as Fearless Flames (Fearless, for short) bucked in the middle of the pen again. She had been trying to get a saddle on him for the past hour, but so far she's had no such luck.

"Aren't you supposed to be fearless?" she muttered, taking the discarded saddle in her arms and walking out of the pen, closing the gate behind her. She planned on watching him for a while, hoping to be able to get a read on him… or at least a better idea as to how to approach him best.

She carried the heavy saddle all the way to the barn, setting it lightly on an empty perch. She was about to walk off to watch the horse when she felt some strong, familiar arms wound themselves around her waist.

"Ty…" she mumbled, fighting a smile while trying to sound stern. "I need to work with Fearless. I only have three days left and he still won't let me out a saddle on him."

"Mm," he muttered in her ear, grazing it with his stubble. "I bet the horse could use a break," he whispered in her ear.

She turned slowly in his arms to fix him with a, hopefully, intimidating gaze. Although, she could tell he could see right through her look.

He leaned in to kiss her cheek, "I bet you could use a break too," he mumbled, and she could feel his smile on her face.

She smiled, closing her eyes slightly. Maybe… for just a couple of minutes… her eyes flew open. "No! Ty, seriously, I have to work with him! He's not getting any better—"

She was cut off by Ty lifting her up by the legs and throwing her over his shoulder as though she was some type of rag doll. She squealed, banging on his back, "Ty! I'm serious! Put me down now, or I swear—"

"What?" he laughed, setting her on her feet. She looked around to see they were in Lu's office. She raised an eyebrow at him but he ignored her. "What are you going to do, huh?"

She glared at him, but she was trying very hard not to smile. "I will never, ever, kiss you again. And I won't marry you," she added when he smiled.

He widened his eyes dramatically, and she groaned when she saw he was unscathed by her threats. He stepped closer to her, "Is that so?"

She nodded, not taking her blue eyes off of his green ones. She could already feel her resolve starting to crumble, but she held on. "Yes, so… you better let me go," she said weekly.

He grinned mischievously, and she could tell he knew she was his. "I have no intention of letting you go," he said, a hint of smugness in his voice as he wrapped his arms around her. "In fact, I plan to keep you as close as—"

He was cut off by her soft lips on his.

"Amy, you in— ARGH!"

Those were the exact words that made Ty and Amy jump about a mile away from each other, both staring determinedly to the ground. Amy was blushing furiously, running a hand through her knotted hair to try to make it look flatter. Her lips were red and swollen, and her flannel was unbuttoned a button farther than usual. She was pressed against the desk, having jumped off it quickly when their… actions had been interrupted.

Ty, standing pressed against the wall in front of her where he had backed into, had his hair sticking in every direction, but he didn't appear to notice. His shirt was untucked and unbuttoned halfway though. He looked mortified, in Amy's opinion.

Of course, words couldn't even begin to describe how she felt right now, but mortified was definitely one of them.

"Are you two decent?" Grandpa's gruff voice asked, as he had turned his back on them in horror.

Amy, for some reason, couldn't help but letting out a hysterical giggle. It was met by Ty's horrified expression as he said, "Uh, yeah."

"Uh, yeah," Jack mimicked, narrowing his eyes at both of their disgruntled appearances. "Now, I may be old, but I'm nowhere near stupid, so I won't ask what you two were doing. I just want you two to know, I know," he said, staring at both of them meaningfully.

Amy nodded shamefully, and out of the corner of her eye she saw Ty do the same.

"And you two may be engaged," he continued, pointing a finger at them, "but that doesn't mean you can roll around whenever you feel like it."

Amy raised an amused eyebrow at his choice of words, despite the situation.

He ignored the looks he received. "Do I make myself clear?"

Amy was the first to nod, followed quickly by Ty. "Yes Grandpa, we're sorry."

"Sure you are," he grumbled, rearranging his hat. "Now get back to work, there's a bucking horse out there and it won't let Katy sleep."

Amy shot Ty a small smile, which he returned with a wink, before following the old man out of the office.

Hey! I know it's been like... a month. But I'm back now! And I hope you like this little thing I wrote for you. Question: do you like third pov? Or would you prefer the old Ty pov and Amy pov's? Let me know in the reviews! Also, request or suggest any prompts so I can write them, because my idea supply has been running rather low, hence the month long wait. So please, leave a review with your opinion!
