"No."

"Yes-"

"No. I said no."

"Midgets? What do you think?"

A chorus of children voices echoed Soul's words. "YES!"

Maka sighed. There was only one hour left now. Then school ended, and their lives returned to normal without caring for a million children for eight hours. Though switch the number, one million, to sixteen.

"Why?" She groaned leaning back in the teacher's chair.

"Why not?" Soul said excitedly, sitting in the small desk in front of her. It was too small for him, so he looked like a giant among little elves.

"Last time, everything-"

"Was fine."

"Was it really though?" She asked raising an eyebrow. They were referring to the incident earlier in the day (in which Maka was using the restroom once again) where Soul had managed to set one of the desk's on fire during one of his "magic tricks". The same desk Soul currently was crouched in.

"It only got a little burned-"

"That's an understatement! The whole thing is black and charred!" Little Annabeth interrupted indignantly. Besides Maka, she was the only one in the room with any sort of intelligence to know what and what not to do. However, she seemed to have a crush on one of the trouble-makers, Percy. His childish carelessness and stupidity balanced out Annabeth's wise words and thoughts.

Sort of like Maka and Soul.

"It was all under control Einstein!" Soul snapped, turning around as far as the burned desk allowed. "Everyone agrees that everything was fine. Am I right?"

A chorus of both "yes's" and "no's" came from the students. Soul frowned.

"Right then." He turned back to Maka, his dazzling shark-tooth grin replacing the frown.

"See? It's all good!"

"Why do you have to go and make things so complicated?" Maka sighed tiredly.

Piper raised her hand. "Isn't that a song?"

Lydia nodded enthusiastically. "Avril Lavigne! I love her!"

"I thought she died?" Stiles piped in confusedly.

Lydia looked scandalized. "Why would you ever even think that?"

"I think you're thinking of Aly and AJ" Said Sam.

Everyone looked to the normally quiet Winchester brother. He shrugged. "What? I heard they died."

"They're still alive too!" Lydia said. "No of these people are dead! What the heck is with you guys?"

"If any famous person dies, I could tell you." Nico interjected suddenly. "My father works closely with celebrities and their loved ones who pass away."

"Why the hell are you going to a public school then?!" Soul asked, his eyes widening. Working with celebrities normally meant money. And lots of it.

"Yea! Dad just recently took Nico and me to a concert for One Direction!" Hazel squealed, hugging the pale Nico and then swinging an arm around a now blushing Frank.

"Wait- You two are related?!" Soul gasped, then looked from the dark-skinned Hazel, to the whiter-than-snow, snow-skinned Nico. "How-?"

"We're getting off topic here." Dean interrupted. "We were going to make a bomb, remember?" He said, annoyed at the lack of explosions.

"Why would you like One Direction?" Reyna asked disgustedly and made a face.

Hazel, Piper, and Lydia all looked at Reyna in shock.

"You don't like One Direction?!" The three girls cried.

"Yea, less talking and more explosions!" Leo said and made an explosion sound and tossed a paper airplane across the classroom, hitting Peeta in the face.

"Hey!" Peeta said indignantly. "Stop throwing things at me Leo!"

"Sorry!" Leo chirped in reply.

"How could you?!" Lydia said, a hand placed dramatically over her heart.

"I don't like them much either." Katniss chimed in from next to grumpy and tired Peeta.

The three girls turned on Katniss. "WHAT?! FOR REAL?!"

"Hey guys, we need to-" Maka began.

"Let's blow stuff up!" Percy yelled.

"Nico, you should've brought me with you to that concert!" Will said. Nico blushed.

"Why does it matter if they like One Direction?" Jason asked.

Piper whirled to him. "They're immaculate!" She suddenly frowned. "Except Zayn. He left."

"HEY!" Maka yelled over the cacophony.

The kids ceased all conversation and turned to her. Soul sunk lower into the desk, sensing the oncoming storm that was Maka Albarn.

"We need to-"

RRRIIINNNNGGGGGGGGG!

The kids bolted from their seats, grabbed their bags and coats, and were out the door before Maka could finish her sentence.

"Well, never mind then." She huffed and crossed her arms. Soul chuckled.

"I guess we're done here then." She said. Soul stood silently, a crease between his eyebrows and put his hands in his pockets.

"But how are we gonna explain the desk-?" She began.

Maka and Soul were suddenly kissing. When he pulled away, he said, "I'm done with this weird are-we-dating or are-we-friends thing between us. We're dating. There. I said it." His normally pale cheeks were red, and his eyes looked anywhere but the short blonde girl in front of him.

"That's fine with me." She responded with a dazzling smile.

The blush deepened on his face. "Cool- I- uh- Yeah... I've- Yeah. Okay."

"On one condition though." Soul narrowed his eyes apprehensively.

"Yes...?"

"Stop being a fuckboy while we date. No flirting with the other girls like you normally do." She stated firmly.

"Deal. That won't be hard." He said, the blush fading, instead replaced by a sharp and dangerous smirk. He leaned down and whispered in her ear. His lips grazing her earlobe making her shiver. "Especially if I get to see your beautiful face looking up at me from my bed every night."

Now it was Maka's turn to blush. "Are you really gonna do this?"

"Do what?" He whispered, an arm snaking around her waist.

"Sexual innuendos?" She replied, determined to not let him get to her. Was this what it was like for those other girls?

He laughed and moved away from Maka. "Whatever you want tiny tits-"

WHAM!

A book rested comfortably in Maka's hand, and Soul lay on the ground tears welling in his eyes.

"I thought if we started dating you wouldn't do this." He moaned in pain.

Maka shrugged. "I never said anything, shark-boy." She retorted.

"Why do you just have to flip-flip emotions woman?!" He yelped. Suddenly, a hand was extended down to him.

He pushed aside his snow hair to gaze at the bright and happy face of his best friend and girlfriend. "C'mon idiot." She said.

He grinned back. Taking her hand, he stood and they walked out of the children classroom, changed but yet, not.

The End

There's a saying from Winston Churchill that goes: "Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But is it, perhaps, the end of the beginning." This was the end of the beginning of Soul and Maka's story.

It's been so long since I started this story. It sadly ended quickly, but since I began it with no specific plot, this is how it turned out. I think it's pretty okay. It's the best pretty okay story there is. Hope you enjoyed, and hope this isn't too disappointing. Thank you for all your support and reviews! :)
