Six weeks later

Vanille landed on her bed fully clothed and face first. "Etro that Serah parties hard. I'm far too old for this. Five thousand years too old," she added to herself and giggled into her pillow. It really had been an amazing night out. It was a shame Fang had missed it

Vanille felt a bit guilty for not insisting that Fang join them tonight but the huntress had been like a bear with a sore head ever since that infamous morning six weeks a go; mooching around the house deep in the comfort of baggy pants and ice cream. And if she wasn't moaning about Lightning she was snapping and complaining about every single little thing irritated her - and in her current mood that was everything. Vanille groaned. She was trying her best to be supportive but she needed a break from her sister's bad mood. According to Serah Lightning wasn't much better but unlike Fang she was less vocal, more passive aggressive (well more than usual).

Serah and herself had tried every trick in the book to get the two women to talk to each other but to no avail. It was highly irritating for the younger sisters that the two rivals had finally agreed upon something, and that something was avoiding and ignoring the other one. Perhaps I should try emotional blackmail? I mean that's what little sisters do best, she contemplated. Emotional blackmail with my powerful pout. But I promised Fang I'd only use my poutiful powers for good, she remembered. But gosh darn it, she decided resolutely, this is an emergency, lives are at stake. Because if Fang doesn't cheer up soon I'm going to strangle her with her tribal necklace and put her lance where the sun don't…

Faaaannng.

Vanille's head shot up from the pillow. "Was that?"

Ohhhh Faaannnng, the voice groaned again from the next room, easily traveling through the thin wall between the two sister's bedrooms.

"Fang's got a lady friend?" Vanille sat on the edge of her bed and covered her mouth to stifle her giggle. She must have gone out after I left. No that's way too fast even for her….

Ohhh Lightning

"No friggin' way!" Vanille gasped in elated shock. She ran across the room to put her ear against the wall between their bedrooms. So that's where Lightning disappeared too halfway through the night. This was the best gossip ever! She couldn't wait to tell Serah.

I want you so badly.

You have me. Just please, please don't leave me again.

Never. I could never leave you again. You're extraordinary. A rarity I have to cherish so passionate and wild.

Tame me. Make me yours.

Oh Fang.

Oh Lightning.

"Oh-kay," Vanille jerked her ear away from the wall, "Gross." It was definitely Lightning, her curiosity was fully satisfied, she did not want to listen to her sister and her friend knocking boots. Who knew that Lightning would be such a vocal in the sack and so smoochy about it too?

Vanille shuddered as the breathy moans and groans from next door became louder. Quickly walking across the room to her desk she picked up her noise-cancelling headphones. Sweet, sweet headphone. How you have saved me on multiple occasions; from Fang's taste in music, her off-key singing, her moody rants, her snoring and now this. You're the best thing that ever happened to me, she thought giving them a quick loving kiss. Vanille plugged them into her MP3 player set it to shuffle and with a thankful sigh she pressed play. Nothing happened. She checked the headphone connection and turned up the volume. Nothing happened.

Oh Fang.

Oh Lightning.

"Etro, they're loud," she grimaced she could hear them through the headphones. Deciding that perhaps her MP3 player was the problem she turned on her computer and sat with her fingers in her ears until she booted up her music library. She found her current favourite album and clicked. Nothing happened. She clicked again. Nothing happened.

I've missed your mouth. I want to taste you Fang. I want your lips on me.

Vanille's clicking became frantic. "Why won't you work!" Vanille entreated her computer. She checked the volume, it was on the highest setting. She checked the connection, it was fine. She tried a music video, that didn't work either! "Damn you," she yelled shaking the computer screen...

Say my name again. I love it when you say my name.

Oh Fang. Fang, Fang. Fang.

In her distress Vanille stood and the action pulled the headphones from their port. Loud music blasted into the room. It was her headphones! Her treasured headphones had decided to break at this very inconvenient moment! And the acoustics did nothing to cover up the noise from next door, if anything it made it louder.

Oh…oh Lightning! Do that again. Yes. Oh-oh- oh Lightning! Yes, oh yes that's it right there. Oh yes, yes, yes...

xxXOXxx

Vanille ran from her house; a silent scream on her lips and her headphones still on her head, the long wire trailing behind her. And although she would forever be happy that Lightning and Fang had finally became a couple, she'd always prefer it when they were bickering. Because when they were being loving and whispering sweet nothings to each other she'd flinch with the residual memories of the night when they finally got together.

*Sigh* Why can't I just leave things unfinished? Damn my need for closure.

Don't worry it's all over now. I promise.
