Chapter 6
Kanda groaned and looked at his pre-calculus homework. He understood nothing.
When student exorcists arrive home, Komui sends them straight to the library and they are not allowed out until they finish their work.
Each student sat at a different desk working.
Kanda looked at his homework and tried to figure it out, but he was struggling.
To enforce that the exorcists remained in the room, the head nurse guarded over them. The only ticket to leave was showing completed homework.
After only five minutes of homework, Allen stood up and headed over to the nurse and presented his work.
The head nurse nodded in approval and let him go.
Lavi's jaw dropped. "No way! Allen just finished like three weeks' worth of homework in like five minutes."
"Shhh!" The nurse scolded Lavi.
Kanda rolled his eyes and got back to work.

Kanda eventually finished his homework and walked back to his room. As he approached his room, he heard something soft and pressed his ear against the door.
Allen was singing. He had a beautiful voice and the song was beautiful, but it was a weird song he never heard of before.
Kanda opened the door to see Allen's grand white wings fanned out.
Allen stopped singing and looked at Kanda, blush covering his face.
The white wings wrapped around his, shielding him from Kanda's view.
"What the hell were you doing?"
Allen was silent a bit before answering, "Grooming."
"What?" Kanda growled his question, he could not hear when Allen speaks so softly.
"I was grooming my feathers."
Kanda raised an eyebrow, "Whatever."
Kanda sat on his bed and watched Allen's wings for a second.
"You can touch my wings if you want." Allen offered, extending one towards Kanda.
"Tch," Kanda clicked his tongue. "Why would I want to do that?"
Allen shrugged. "I was told humans do not get many opportunities to touch an angel's wing."
Kanda thought about Allen's words before reaching out and gently stroking Allen's wing.
Allen's feathers were a little ruffled, making them fluffy and so soft to the touch.
Allen's wings were the softest and most beautiful thing Kanda had ever seen in his life.
"Do they look okay?" Allen asked, referring to his grooming skills.
Kanda rolled his eyes. "Like I care, shortstack. Now, don't get your feathers everywhere or I'll rip out and make a pillow out of them."
Allen's wings wrapped around himself, scared. "I'll clean them up." He promised.
Kanda nodded and turned onto his side away from Allen to take a short nap and not think about those lovely pure white feathers.
