Chapter 24: Family Moments

It had officially been one week since Selenity had been born. It was currently late afternoon and the new family was pretty relaxed. The baby was in her crib, awake but quiet, only making little noises that came from her mouth. Serenity was sitting on her bed reading a book while Seto was on his laptop.

Mokuba just came home from school and heads upstairs to see his brother, sister-in-law, and niece. He opens the door and greets them with a wide smile." Hey, Serenity and Seto. I'm back!"

"Hello, Mokuba," Serenity greeted while Seto gives him a small nod before turning back to his computer.

Mokuba walked in and headed to his niece's crib."Heyyah, Selenity. Uncle Mokuba is home. Hey, Serenity," he said, turning to her," Can I hold Selenity?"

"Of course you can," Serenity answers," But be careful."

Mokuba slowly picks Serenity up, but as soon as she does, she starts crying." Jeez, Seto. She sure has your mouth."

Seto doesn't say anything, but gives his brother an nnoyed glare.

Mokuba smirked." Watch it, Seto. You might scare the baby with that glare of yours."

Seto then gives his younger brother a warning look.

"Be nice, Mokuba," Serenity says, walking towards him and giving him the bottle to feed to Serenity.

Mokuba puts the botle in his niece's mouth before saying," She really is a pretty baby. I bet she'll be just as beautiful as you when she gets older, Serenity.

Serenity blushed." Aw, Mokuba. Thank you."

"But she'll probably still have a loud mouth like Seto."

"You better be glad my daughter is in your arms."

Two more weeks quickly went by since Selenity was born. Seto was also returning to work. They were all at the table eating breakfast. Well, Mokuba was more so playing with the baby than eating.

Wide smiled etched across the baby's face as she watched her uncle make continous funny faces. After a minute, she just started to stare and eventually looked away, leaving Mokuba pouty.

A couple of minutes later, Seto stood from the table." Well, I'm headed to work, Serenity."

She smiled as he walked over and kissed her on the cheek." I hope you have a good day."

"You too," he said as he leaned over to kiss Seleniy on her forehead." Make sure not to move around too much, okay? Remember, you can't go out until another three more weeks."

"I know, I know," Serenity mumbled.

"See you, then."

After hearing Seto leave, Serenity excused herself and headed upstairs to her room. While placing the baby in the crib, the brunette decided she would make a call to her brother.

Calling her brother, she waited for a minute before he picked up and heard his excited voice." Hey, Serenity!"

Serenity let a smile cross her face." Hi, Joey! I'm so sorry that I haven't been able to spend much time with you or talk to you! I've been so busy since the baby was born!" she apologized.' Well, I guess that's what being a mother does to you."

"Ah, man! I can't believe you're actually married and with a child now! Jeez, my little sister is all grown up!" Joey replied.

Serenity blushed at his comment, laughing a bit." I just met him a few years ago and now I'm Mrs. Kaiba!" she stated happily,

Joey rolled his eyes." I mean, don't mind me," he says, but Serenity didn't hear him." Anyway, time flies by, doesn't it?"

"Yes, it does! One minute I-" but Serenity's reply is interrupted when Selenity starts crying. She sighed." Oh, Joey, I'm so sorry! Seleity needs me. I think she's hungry again."

"Don't worry about it. I'll talk to you later," he said.

"I'm sorry, Joey. I love you very much."

"I love you too, sis," he replied before hanigng up the phone.

A couple of weeks later, as Serenity and the baby were finally able to go out, the Kaiba family took a walk in the park together. Selenity seemed to enjoy her baby carriage already.

"I think a walk in the park was a very nice idea. Selenity hasn't cried since," Serenity told her husband, smiling up at him.

Seto put an arm around her." Well, I think she enjoys seeing her beautiful moher smiling also." he smiled down at the bay interested in hand.

"Ugh, you two are so cheesy," Mokuba groaned.

Seto playfully pushed his brother." Just wait until you marry Rebecca one day. Then you'll know."

Mokuba's face turned red." Wh-who said I was going to marry Rebecca?!"

"He's just teasing, Mokuba," Serenity laughed.

"He better be," he grumbled.

"I never would have thought we would get this far when we first met," Seto stated." I mean, ruining my trench coat witha drink isn't the best meeting."

Serenity chuckled."Ah, I'm still sorry about that. But it led us to where we are. You, Mokuba, Selenity and I are a happy family together now. And we will be forever, right?"

"Always. And I'll make sure of it, too."

Forever and Always.
