Days had passed without another Butterfly sighting. Not that she was complaining, she was too busy with Taki and Sayako to take much notice of anything else. Even as she was outside with the two who were running around and playing in her backyard, she was sitting with their homework in her lap. Going over their answers and checking them for mistakes. Taking a pencil as she would circle the number of the questions that needed to be fixed. Her eyes only vaguely caught sight of Taki twisting off the top of the swing set.

"Ah!"

"Taki!"

Kagome stood up and ran to the little boys' side, her hand over his as she calmed him down as much as she could before easing the pain away with her Miko energy. Sayako and Taki stared with wide eyes as she healed his injury. It wasn't until she was done that, she realized what she had done. "...both of you, go inside and clean up. I'll be in to get dinner ready soon."

"H-hai!" Sayako pulled her brother up and the two walked back inside in awe.

'Kami, what are you thinking, Kagome.' She glanced down at her hands before walking over to the school papers and picking them up off the ground. Following the path that the kids took inside. Both were upstairs, she could feel them. Closing her eyes, she moved onto the task of making dinner while trying to formulate some believable story for what she'd just done.

"Mukahi, you found someone to watch your siblings?"

Glancing up at his Buchou, Mukahi smiled, "Hai, Buchou. Kagome, my neighbor, she took them in for the week."

"Kagome..."

That thoughtful undertone had Mukahi worried. Watching the look of curiosity in Keigo's eyes, he sighed and shook his head. "The Butterflies have plans for her Buchou, give it up." He shouldered his Tennis bag and left a baffled Keigo staring after him.

He made his way to Jirou who was practicing against Oshitari, "mind if I join in?"

"The two of you against me?"

"Can you handle that?" Mukahi laughed at his normally sleepy friend.

"Hai! Sounds fun!"

As night fell, Kagome was sitting outside with Taki next to her reading. He was telling her all about the book in his hands while she enjoyed the breeze against her skin. "Say, Taki, can you tell me anything interesting about Butterflies?"

He looked at her curiously, "I don't know anything about butterflies? Do you like them?"

"...yeah. I like them a lot."

He nodded, "I'll learn about the so that I can tell you all about them then!" He went back to his book and she continued listening to his facts, the long list that he had, about whatever it was he was reading.

'I haven't seen one since...I wonder if I was thinking too much about it. Putting too much thought into the colors of their wings. Surely, they are just butterflies...' she felt a hand on her shoulder, "Sayako-Chan, is it time for the both of you to head to bed?"

"Hai!"

Kagome nodded and helped Taki stand before following the two inside. Both ran ahead of her before Sayako stopped and looked at Kagome. "What is it?"

"We won't tell anyone about your powers..."

"...my...powers?" She smiled, "did I scare you earlier?"

"Well, a little. But Taki said the pain went away when you used your powers, so I don't think they're bad."

"I don't think they are either," Kagome said honestly, "but I would appreciate it if you kept them to yourself. Some people would be upset if they found out I had them."

Taki shook his head dramatically, "I won't tell! I won't!"

"Yeah, we'll be quiet!" Sayako took her brothers hand in hers, "let's go, Taki. We still have school in the morning."

"Night!"

"Good night you two." Kagome waved the two good night before returning outside to enjoy the nights silence and chill. This told her she was still human, after all. Feeling the cold bite, her eyes closed, and she sighed. "Powers...like I'm a superhero..." smiling, she let her eyes drift open in time to see the familiar flutter of pink wings. Standing abruptly, she frowned and considered following, but her eyes trailed inside where Taki and Sayako had just gone to bed.

"Maybe...maybe I'm just reading too much into it, or thinking too much about it, but I think they want you to find love, and be happy. They seemed like good friends...trust them to guide you."

Kagome sighed, standing, she started walking after the butterfly. Bare feet touched along the cool concrete before she began running as it took to the sky. "Damn, you guys don't need to fly so fast though. I'm not wearing shoes, so you could go a bit slower!"

"Ah, hey, look out!"

'...when did I get this far...I didn't notice the stairs.' She took hold of the bar along the steps and gripped it tightly to keep from falling as a body found her back and held her tightly to slow her velocity. Her eyes turned up; the pink wings slowed rhythmically before the butterfly settled atop her nose.

"Heh, what a curious butterfly."

She jumped as she realized that arms still held her, pulling herself forward and turning, her cheeks were flushed from the cold air and her midnight run. The butterfly took flight and she looked to her savior as it flew past him. "Oh, you are...Fuji-San."

He opened his eyes, and she was lost in an intense sapphire gaze.

"I'm at a disadvantage. You know my name, but I'm afraid I don't know yours."

Smiling, she lifted her hand. The familiar pink and black butterfly settled along the top as he took it in his, "Higurashi, Kagome. Mukahi told me your name after the last time I saw you."

"Mukahi-San? Gakuto, Mukahi from Hyotei? Are you a student?"

"Oh goodness no, I'm his neighbor. I should actually be getting back home, I kind of left his brother and sister alone to chase after this one." She motioned to the butterfly as she pulled her hand back. It took off again at the motion and settled on Fuji's shoulder as its wings moved in a slow mesmerizing motion. "Until next time, Fuji-San."

"...uh, yeah."
