Chapter thirty-one: Day of Buckbeak's Hearing Part

Jack watched the clouds roll by. All his and Hermione's hard work led up today. Hagrid was at Buckbeak's trial today, and here Jack was laying in a tree at Hogsmeade. He had a bag of ingredients from the apothecary for potions and other odds and ends for April Fools in a few weeks. But his mind wasn't on the joke and prank war he and the Twins are doing for the day but on both Male Malloys and Buckbeak. Jack gave a small smile as he thought about Draco and the Thestral Draco has been helping Jack with. After seeing Frost and Snowflake, Jack showed Aster and Draco one of his new spells he was creating. A spell that came originally from Muggle writer C.S Lewis 'A spell to make the unseen, seen' thus Draco being able to see the Thestral without seeing Death. Aster was impressed. But the spell only lasted a few days before wearing off; Jack had to re-cast it the day before the trip to Hogsmeade. But Jack's more Slytherin way of working out the problem seems to be working. Draco was coming down to help Jack with Hargid's pets nearly every day after seeing Frost. Aster knew that Jack's hope is all over the place for today.

"Jack!?"

Jack jumped up from where he was laying on the branch. Jack looked down to see Draco. Jack smiled he was the only Gryffindor that the blond haired Slytherin called by his first name.

"Hi, Drake."

"Drake?"

"Translation; a male dragon. That reminds me did you know your last name translated to English means bad faith, and it's French."

"What's with you and translating people's names?"

"Latin, Gaelic, Pictish, Gothic, Galatian, well any Celtic as well as French help with creating spells." Jack shrugged "I'm also learning Russian from North, I find it fun when others don't know what their name means."

Draco laughed, "Dragon Bad Faith… just great and I've been wearing my name like a badge of honour." Jack laughed as he jumped down from the tree.

"Jokul Frosti is Norse for Jack Frost if that helps." Jack picked up his bags with his staff making it look like a knapsack. Draco rolled his eyes; Jack laughed but soon stopped to look around.

"What's wrong?" Draco asked as they started to walk towards The Three Broomsticks.

"Don't know, just felt something off."

Draco looked around as well and stopped walking when he noticed a particular back haired Gryffindor with one of the red haired boys Zonko's.

"What in the world?" Draco whispered. More he looked he could make out some sort of cloak over Harry Potter. "That spell you cast. Can it go through Invisibility Cloaks?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Potter. Potter, is under one and he just left Zonko's."

Jack closed his eye. "That boy is going to get himself killed. And Tooth convinced Professor Dumbledore to have two Professors here to watch out for trouble."

"Do you know which ones are here today?"

"North and Professor Snape." Jack looked up. "And I know exactly what to do. Come on."

Jack took off down the path with Draco right behind him.

"I don't understand why I have to watch the dunderheads during my free time."

North had to roll his eyes. 'You think he was a teen with that attitude.' "Ve here to protect the students, Black has already had some close calls."

"Yes. But Potter is not here." Snape said impatiently. "He was with Longbottom last I saw him."

"Yes, but Black went after the youngest Veasley boy. Not Harry."
The wind caught North's beard and Snape's robes. North looked around.

"NORTH!"

"Mal'chik?" North tuned to where Jack's voice had come from.

"Draco?" asked Snape with surprise when he was the blond haired Slytherin with the white haired Gryffindor.

"Chto eto moy mal'chik"

"Angliyskiy K severu" Jack said with an eye roll.

"Tak chto eto ne o 'Teni'"

"Will you two please, speak English!" Snape snapped in annoyance.

"That's what I said!" Jack said. "Anyway someone is here that shouldn't be."

"Black?" Snape asked.

"No Potter." Said Draco.

"Drake saw him under that cloak of his."

"You finished your spell!?" North asked."One of them."

"One of them."

"Where?" Snape growled out not bothered that Jack was creating spells after all so was he at that age.

"Coming out of Zonko's."

"Of course. Where is he now? He will have detention of a the month!"

"You should get him safe first." Jack said with a smile ", and I have the perfect plan. Do you have a few snow globes North?"

"Da, vhat have you got planned?"

"One of the things Harry hates more is being caught by either Drake or Professor Snape, so why not getting caught by both." Snape looked at Draco then at Jack.

"What's the plan?"

The Shrieking Shack stood a little way above the rest of the village, and even in the daylight was slightly creepy, with boarded windows and dark overgrown garden. To three of the four boys could see Ron Weasley leaning on the fence, looking up at the shack. But two of them knew there were actually two boys leaning on the fence. Draco looked at Jack who nodded.

"Show time," Jack whispered and jumped up into one of the trees.

Harry, feeling hot from the climb, was just considering taking off the Cloak for few minutes, when they heard voices nearby. Someone was climbing towards the house from the other side of the hill; moments later, Draco had appeared, followed closely by Crabbe and Goyle. Draco was speaking.

"… should have an owl from Father any time now. He had to go to the hearing to tell them about Jack… and what he had to go, though…"
Crabbe and Goyle sniggered.

"I really wish I could hear that great hairy moron trying to defend himself… 'There's no 'arm in 'im, 'onest –'… that Hippogriff's as good as –"
Draco suddenly caught sight of Ron. His pale face split in a wicked grin.
"What are you doing, Weasley?" Draco looked up at the crumbling house behind Ron. "Suppose you'd love to live here, wouldn't you, Weasley?" Dreaming about having your own bedroom? I heard your family all sleep in one room –is that right?"
'Ouch, that got to hurt. Drake sure knows how to hit people where it hurts,' thought Jack as he watched.

"Leave him to me," Harry hissed in Ron's ear. Not knowing the Wind was letting Jack and Draco hear him.
Thinking the opportunity was too good to miss. Harry crept silently around the three Slytherins, bent down and scooped a large handful of mud out of the path, and as Draco was truanting Ron again he threw it.

SPLAT!

Draco's head jerked forwards as the mud hit him; his silver-blond hair now covered in mud.
"What the –?"

Ron had to hold onto the fence to keep himself standing. He was laughing so hard. The Slytherins spun stupidly on the spot, staring wildly around. As Draco was trying to wipe his hair clean. 'Jack better be able to clean this!' he thought.
Still going with the plan Draco asked, "What was that? Who did that?"

"Very haunted up here, isn't it?" asked Ron, like one would comment on the weather.

Crabbe and Goyle were looking scared. Draco saw Harry sneaking along the path, were a particularly sloppy puddle yielded some foul-smelling, green sludge. 'Please let that not be for me!' Draco thought just before Harry got Crabbe and Goyle.

SPLATTER!

"It came from over there!" Draco said deliberately pointed a meter to the left of Harry. Jack wasn't watching with his eyes anymore, but he had his eyes shut feeling how the wind was moving around, Ron, Harry, Draco, Crabbe and Goyle. And was waiting for the right moment. And it came when Harry tried to trip Crabbe.
Crabbe, because he could only see Ron, it was Ron he started towards, but Harry stuck out his leg. Jack gave his staff swing and with the winds help Harry's Cloak was pulled off.
Draco stared at Harry counted to ten then…

"AAARGH!" he yelled and pointed at Harry's head. Then he turned tail and run, at breakneck speed, back down the hill, Crabbe and Goyle behind him.
Jack and Draco raced back towards North and Professor Snape after Jack cleaned the Slytherin Three up. Part two of Jack's plan was underway. Now all they had to do was get to the castle before Harry. That's were North's snow globes came to play. To keep from Harry seeing Jack or Draco, Jack took to the roofs of the village keeping a good grip on the Slytherin. Jack laughed at Snape's look of disbelief when they landed in front of the two professors.

"Harry just entered Honeydukes," Jack said with a smile "I guess the entrance is in there."

"Mal'chik?" North whispered to Jack while giving him a snow globe. "Good luck and don't get into too much trouble."

"Who me?" Jack asked with a smile "Never."
Jack brought the snow globe up to his face before whispering into it, it slightly iced before Jack let it fall from his hand stepping back. The two Slytherins watched with amazement as the snow globe broke and a portal was created. "You two will have to go first. It will close after I go through it."

The two Slytherins watched with amazement as the snow globe broke and a portal was created. "You two will have to go first. It will close after I go through it."

"How do we even know it will work?" Professor Snape asked.

"Because I've already used them at Hogwarts."

"Halloween. You used them at Halloween." Draco said with awe.

"Yes now, will you get going!" Jack said, "They don't stay open forever."

North rolled his eyes and pushed Professor Snape into the portal.
"Udachi"
Jack laughed as he took a page out of North's book and pushed Draco in after Snape went through.

"Pogovorim pozzhe Severnaya, u menya yest' ideya o teni." Jack said as he followed the two.
North shook his head as the portal closed. Jack was becoming very fluent in Russian, he still had hiccups now and then but in all Jack could speak and understand Russian. He and North have had many conversations in Russian in this one-year alone.

Aster left the post office with a smile on his face Jack, and the Twins weren't the only ones looking forward to April Fool's. April Fool's was a time when Jack, Aster and Sandy always versus each other in 'Who can prank the most beings?' Aster knew Jack had forgotten when he set the Prank War against the Weasley Twins but told him and Sandy it's one of his pranks for the Twins. Not telling if he had more planned for the Twins or what they are. Aster couldn't wait to see what Jack would come up with for the day. April Fool's was a day when Aster could play around with Jack and Sandy before his big weekend: Easter! Well depending on the year, some years it was after Easter, but the three of them tried to do this every year since Jack joined their miss-mash family. Aster entered the lane way beside the Post Office and tapped his foot.
He smiled as a few egglets came through the tunnel he had just made.

"G'day ya little googies, I need ya to do me a favour," Aster said with a smile. "I need you to take these to The Warren for me. They're for April Fools."

The egglets nodded with glee they would always help they're creator and master. Aster gave a laugh as the egglets took the bags from his hands and took off down the rabbit's hole. April Fools was going to be one hell of a day.
