Author's Notes: With school now being out, I finally have more time to do some writing. I'm not sure how frequently I'll upload stuff now, but I'll at least try to work on it more actively. In the words of the all powerful Iwata; please understand :P

In either way, I've decided to write this chapter a little differently from the others. Now that I have learned more about writing, I have decided to convert everything into present-tense, as opposed to the past-tense of the previous ones.

Anyway, let's get on with the story. Thanks for reading! :3

Kirby looks up at Mario as they hike over a lush green field. A large white castle looms off in the distance, which is their current destination. Neither of them have said anything to each other as they traverse the large field, mainly due to Kirby's vocabulary being limited to "poyo", leaving a silence of disrespect lingering in-between them.

Mario's hands burn a golden-orange as the sun drops below the horizon. As the large, golden star sinks below the ground and dark settles between the two, Mario sighs. "Looks like it's-a me and you, Kirby." The pink puffball looks up at him. "Let's try and find somewhere-" the plumber starts, before being cut off.

The ground shakes as the night sky is painted above them. Almost as if magical forces do so, monsters rise from the shadows and the nooks of the field. With surprise being present within the two smashers, they nod at each other as they silently agree on what they need to do.

Lucas conjures up a large orb of energy around his head, before sending it at the approaching turtles and small mushroom-shaped creatures. Mr. Game & Watch, a flat, monochromatic man with a large nose, throws eggs and sausages at the approaching enemies. "What are these things!?" Lucas yells, as a ball of lightning sparks from his fingers. Mr. Game & Watch, capable of nothing but his monotonous beeping, looks at him; his head tilted in an apologetic, and knowing manor. As the final mushroom-shaped creature disintegrates into a small pile of ashes, Lucas turns quickly towards Mr. Game & Watch, before darkness consumes him.

Olimar, the short, helmeted captain of the S.S. Dolphin, stands with a garden of small, rainbow-coloured beings surrounding him. A red variation of these creatures – Pikmin, according to his notes – holds up a small piece of paper. Sitting under a nearby tree, several times larger than it should be, sits a little yellow mouse, as he nibbles on a large berry. The captain quickly rushes over to him, pointing at the tree he sits under; where a broken spacecraft sits.

As the ten remaining smashers were left to explore the infinite passages of the Subspace Maze for the key, the large, blue deity known as Tabuu looks upon them. Incapable of speech himself, the thoughts bubble up his mind. How foolish. He thinks, watching as Mario and Kirby take down many of the goblin beasts known to the Hylians as the Bulblins. He turns his gaze to Lucas and Game & Watch, as Lucas cowers in fear behind the large plant-like creature that holds him captive. How ignorant. Finally, his gaze lands upon Peach and Lucario, trekking through the bright, cartoony woods. These mortals are the most powerful beings in this universe!?

Tabuu slams his fist against one of the windows that allow him to view the others. There can be no conceivable way these idiots could possibly find the key. Whilst the blue deity's brain sparks with a plan, his face contorts, showing the one thing the godly being has never once shown in his millenniums-long life:

Emotion.
