"What the hell is up with this forest!?" Ash shouted to the sky. He looked at his watch and it was almost 4:00 yet it was really dark in the forest. "Drew must have tricked me…"

Ash continued walking, continuing through the forest. His cell phone was not working so he had no way of contacting anyone.

"I might as well head back," Ash turned around and stared at what was in front of him. "This tree wasn't there before…" He turned around and the bushes in front of him were gone.

"…I'm in the Murkrow Forest, aren't I?"

May kept following the footprints that were in the mud, hoping they would lead her to Ash. She was exhausted but wouldn't give up. Not now, not ever. She owed Ash a huge apology.

It was starting to get cold but May kept walking in the mud, following Ash's footprints. Until she reached a cliff and the footprints stopped.

"What? Why did they stop? Why did they lead…here…No…Ash wouldn't…" May went to the edge of the cliff and looked down. It was a long drop down and she was sure no one would survive a fall like that.

"Maybe these aren't Ash's footprints, yeah. They're probably someone else's," May reassured herself before turning around and noticing the path back was gone and a new path appeared. "I'm starting to lose it…"

May sighed and continued walking, shivering as the wind started to pick up. "Just need to find Ash…" May kept repeating until she tripped and fell into the mud. She got back up and looked at the sky. "Worst week ever!"

May sighed. In a way she hoped that Ash would have heard her but the chances of that weren't very likely. All of a sudden, she heard a rustle from a nearby bush. May started to tremble as she stepped back. Out from the bush was a wolf. A very terrifying one that had one eye. It was growling at her and May had a feeling this wolf missed breakfast. The wolf leaped at her and she quickly ran to the side and started running, screaming.

"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"

"Stupid…Snake!" Ash shouted as he stabbed a snake with his wooden-made spear. He was able to get a branch, a vine, and a sharp rock and make a spear. "Why are there snakes in Petalburg? That's just…"

Ash stopped as he heard something rustling from the bushes. He held his spear in a defensive stance, preparing for whatever it was.

But even he could not guess that it would be a bear that appeared.

"What…the…fu-" Ash jumped out of the bear that leaped at him. "You have GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! Why in the blue hell, is there a bear here!?"

Ash started running. He could take on gangs or groups of murderers, but even he knew that he couldn't stand a chance against a bear. Ash kept running, cutting down tree branches in an effort to slow the bear down. Ash was soon able to grab a vine and climb onto a tree. But this bear was full of surprises. The bear let out a roar and soon another bear appeared and the two stood on their hind legs and started shaking the tree Ash was on.

"What is actually going on!?" Ash asked out loud as he jumped to another tree and the bears followed.

May was as still as a statue as she hid on a tree branch, with the wolf down below looking for her. Thankfully the mud covered her scent. When the wolf ran off, May let out a sigh of relief, until she heard a roar. It didn't sound like a wolf, but more like a bear. But that was impossible right? Bears don't live in Hoenn. Under normal circumstances, May would have stayed hidden in the tree and waited for help but Ash was in this forest and she was going to find him. She would just have to be stealthy.

May continued down the trail, extremely scared. She didn't even know what time it was, but if she had to guess, she'd say about an hour had past. May shivered as she kept walking. She was going to be sick and she knew it.

"Ash is in this forest…Ash is in this forest…" She kept repeating to herself.

She kept walking, slightly crouched down just in case and was walking very quietly. Crunches would be heard every now and then when she would step on a bunch of leaves. It wasn't long before May ended up in front of a large tree. It seemed to be one of the tallest trees in the forest.

May looked at her muddy hands and back at the tree. She was going to be in so much pain after this but it was worth a shot. May started to climb the tree, thinking back to when Ash would climb the tree in her front yard. She was surprisingly good at climbing the tree and made it to a solid branch. She sighed as she sat down and stretched. May noticed that it was incredibly dark now meaning the sun had set and she had been in this forest for hours.

"Maybe if I climb to the top I can see the whole forest?" With that thought in mind, May climbed even higher, ignoring the aches and pains in her body.

"If only I didn't believe Drew…we wouldn't be in this situation!" May grumbled as she grabbed onto a branch to pull herself up onto another sturdy branch. May looked down to see how high she was, and immediately regretted it.

She was about to continue climbing until she saw a tree in the distance fall. "W-what was that? Are there monsters in Petalburg?" May was a fan of horror and supernatural movies. But being in the situation of life and death changed her feelings immediately.

"Maybe it's Ash?" The thought was unlikely to her but Ash has done some incredible things before. May took a deep breath, and shouted at the top of her lungs:

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

"My throat is gonna be sore…"

"Was that May?" Ash wondered as he jumped to another tree, avoiding the bears. He had just heard May's scream. "It came from that tree, but these bears won't leave me alone!" Ash jumped to another tree before seeing a beehive in a tree across from him. "That's it!" Ash threw a branch at the hive, making it fall and land near the bears. The bears were now distracted and Ash used this chance to find May. He ran in the direction of her scream, which led to a tall tree.

"MAY!" Ash shouted. He reached the base of the tall tree from where he heard May's scream. Suddenly he saw a flash of red. Then the silhouette of a person appeared.

"Ash?" The voice, though quietly due to distance, called out.

"It really is you…!" Ash quickly looked around. "Come down here!" He called out.

"I can't!" May responded. Ash frowned as he realised May had never actually climbed a tree before.

"Just jump!" Ash called out.

"Are you nuts!?" Was May's response.

"Yes, but I'll catch you! I promise!"

"…You better catch me Ash Ketchum, or else you'll regret it for the rest of your life!"

"Just jump already!"

May did just that. Ash held out his arms and adjusted himself to be aligned where May was going to fall. And soon, May was in his arms.

"May, what are you doing here?" Ash asked as soon as May was in his arms.

"I came chasing after you. I don't understand what all of this is about. Why'd you run away? You could have easily taken out all of them."

Ash frowned, realizing how true her words were. "I don't know. I guess it was just instinct." Ash let May down, though she almost fell and Ash quickly caught her. "What's wrong? Did you break something?"

May shook her head. "No, the jump was just a bit shocking. I'll be fine."

Ash let out a sigh of relief. "Good. Let's get out of this stupid forest."

"Um, how?"

Ash opened his mouth to respond but quickly remembered he was also lost. He tries to think if he can remember anything about this forest.

"Oh!" Ash looked at May who had a shocked expression on her face. "I remember my dad saying that if we ever end up in this forest, just follow the signs!"

"What signs?" Ash asked, hoping it would be that simple, but at the same time hoping it wouldn't be that simple so he doesn't feel like a complete idiot.

"One like this I think," May walked over to a sign that Ash couldn't remember being there before. "What are you waiting for Ash?" May asked. Ash sighed and resisted the urge to slap himself and followed May.

The two were suddenly blinded as they stepped out of the forest. When their eyes adjusted, they saw their friends standing in front of them. When they saw the two, they immediately rushed over.

"Whoa! What happened to you two!? Ten minutes and you both look like you were mauled by bears!" Barry exclaimed. Ash couldn't be more relieved to see his monkey of a friend.

Ash then took in what Barry said. "Ten minutes? But…" Ash looked at the sky. In the forest, the sun was high in the sky still. Ash looked at his watch and it was 4:10 PM. "A lot happens in just ten minutes…or it's just another mystery of the Murkrow Forest."

"What are you mumbling to yourself Ash?"

"Nothing important. But what is important, May's back!" Ash said, putting an arm around May, making her blush.

May explained her reasons for ditching them and going out with Drew, and everyone understood, considering no harm was done. Except for the big bump on Dawn's head.

"Paul, what happened to Drew?"

"I arrested them. Misty and Ursula should have no problem getting an acquittal. But Gary did physically harm Dawn and Drew did many things, so don't worry. He'll get his desserts."

Ash smiled and let out a sigh. "This was one, insane week. Let's never do this again."

"It's so good to be back!" Max exclaimed as he jumped onto his bed. They had moved all of May and Max's things from Drew's house back to Ash's.

"Yeah, it's so much cleaner here," May stretched her arms and left Max's room. She saw Ash exiting his room. "Ash!"

Ash turned around, "what's up May?"

May paused and walked up until she was right in front of him. She was looking down at the floor. "I…I'm…I'm so sorry!" Ash blinked, not expecting that. "I'm sorry for everything! For everything I said to you! Fore everything that's happened!" May started sobbing and placed her hands on her face.

"May…" Ash pulled May into an embrace. "I don't think your reasons for doing what you did were right, but I will forgive you. Just…don't be so hasty from now on, all right?"

May sniffed and looked up at Ash, who had a small smile on his face. She nodded. They separated and Ash turned around. May stood there, contemplating something, before calling Ash's name again.

Ash turned around, "what's-"

He was cut off by May who shut him up with her own lips.

'I missed you'

A year and a few days. That's how long it's been and I sincerely apologize. I just couldn't think of anything to write for this chapter and thus ended up creating more stories that I am focusing on more.

Looking back at this story, it really isn't a great story. The plot was all over the place and filled with plot holes. I wonder what I was thinking when I wrote this...or if I was even thinking at all. I'll just use the excuse "first story, sorry if it sucks!"

It sure has been a long time though. I would really like to finish up this story, I don't see it being too long now. Basically, the "Drew" arc is over. Drew will never appear again! But now the hard part begins…romance. I have a tendency of trying to develop characters and relationships that it takes a LONG time so I never actually got to the romance part of, well, any fanfiction I wrote. Look at Infinite Battles and Oblivia Battles! Two stories and I still am not at the romance part yet!

If you have been waiting for an update, I'm sorry and I hope you weren't too disappointed. Feel free to ask me anything and I'll do my best to answer! I also may have an 'in story' reply thing for Guests 'cause I can't reply to them directly.
