Octavius POV

Chapter 41: One last embrace

"Wow, you're really giving this van to us?" Jedediah asked enthusiastic to Larry. He reacted like a little kid, just like when he drove the other yellow van.

"This is a sport car, actually," Larry said, but Jedediah didn't even listen. He ran around the car, looking at all sides of the little, blue car.

"Why is this one called a car and the other one was called a van?" I asked curious.

"That's because they are different in size," Larry explained me.

"Oh, so everything that is made on miniature size is a car," I said after that. "So the yellow van Jedediah and I drove in was a car too."

"Actually no," Larry said hesitating. "That was a monster truck in miniature size. I wasn't talking about miniature and normal human size. Well... let me think how I'm going to explain this."

"Don't bother, Gigantor," Jedediah said, suddenly taking part of the conversation. "I don't care in which thing I drove and Octavius will forget all this nonsense soon enough."

"I won't...," I protested.

"Stop whining and get in," Jedediah said and he stepped in the car already.

"Thank you, my liege," I said and bowed, while I brought my hand to my heart. "This is going to be the death of me."

"Yes, thank you Gigantor," Jedediah yelled from the inside of the car.

"Well, I thought you two deserved a present for making peace and such," Larry said and I nodded one time.

It wasn't really easy and it took a while since everybody got used to it. It has been just a few days ago, but we can see some differences already. And Jacob and Agrippa show everybody that Jedediah and I are not the only ones who are able to become friends.

"Octavius, get it now," Jedediah said inpatient. "Did you forget we have to do something really important?"

I sighed one time. Of course I didn't forget. How could I, I've been looking forward for this for days. I ignored Larry's questioning look, he didn't need to know what Jedediah and I were planning to do, and stepped into the car.

"Please, don't let the car crash again," I said when I sat in the car. I thought back when we crashed with the yellow monster truck in the snow and felt a little bit frightened.

"Trust me, Octavius," Jedediah said, while he started the car. We drove again and I had to admit it went better then the first time.

We drove through the entire museum, searching for our target. And it didn't take long before we found it. Cecil, Reginald and Gus were mopping the flour, while we drove towards them. The three old night guards had to clean the entire museum as punishment for their crimes. Larry said it would be better then involving the cops and maybe he was right. I saw how the three night guards looked surprised at our new sport car. I believe they couldn't see us yet.

"Okay, you're ready for this?" Jedediah asked me.

"Yes," I said a little nervous. "I think I am." Jedediah nodded one time and after that we both stepped out of the car. The three looked even more surprised when they saw us together.

"Those two?" Cecil said truly astonished and he forgot his mopping job. "What are those two doing here?" He threw the mop angrily on the ground, but he didn't do anything else. The other two night guards just stared at us.

"We just wanted to tell you we won the war," Jedediah said proud and without mercy.

"And we became friends," I filled in, just as proud and ruthless as Jedediah.

"And we're free to go where we want now," Jedediah continued. "Indeed," I said and nodded one time.

"We are not locked up in a box anymore." The giants stared surprise at use for a little while.

But then suddenly Gus started to laugh and it was our turn to look in surprise. "Sounds like a happy ending," he said and still smiled.

"They only came here to humiliate us," Cecil said like he found out something really special.

"Yes, payback meatball," Gus said still laughing.

"Congratulations with your victories, guys," Reginald said and he sounded like he truly meant it. We both nodded one time. We never expected to hear any glory from them. Cecil still stared at us, but then he picked up his mop and started to ignore us.

"Farewell then," I said to them.

"Farewell," only Gus said back to us. Jedediah and I both turned around and walked back to the car.

"It's over," I said and sighed relieved.

"Indeed," Jedediah said back. "That was worse and at the same time went better than I expected. In the meanwhile we reached the car, but I wrapped my arms around Jedediah's shoulders, before he had a chance to step into the car.

"What do you think you're doing?" Jedediah asked and he sounded kinda bored.

"Come on, Jedediah. One last embrace to make an end to all this," I said.

"Fine," Jedediah said and he hugged me back. "But don't get use to this, stupid Roman."

"And you are still a barbarian," I said with a smile.

The End

Wow... Chapter 41 and at the same time final chapter.

I don't think I can describe my gratitude with just words that you read it till the end. Special thanks to Mythicalnightguard, TheDeductionist, spatterson and Sand-Wolf579 for the kind and motivating reviews and undying support. And thanks to Mythicalnightguard again for the tips and the nice chats.

I really hoped you liked this story till the end. Just like Jedediah and Octavius said: It's over... *sigh of relief* Writing this story was worse and at the same time went better than I ever expected. But I loved writing it and I will miss it, I'm afraid.

For one last time: Thank you!
