Hey guys. It's been a while (just over 5 months to be precise) but don't worry I haven't forgot you. I had my G.C. with all the revision that lead up to it and then I returned to the story to find I had writers block but I'm over it now I hope. I have taken a chapter out of the original plan but it shouldn't matter too much. I have posted this chapter on the day which celebrated this story's 1st Birthday to celebrate it and to mark the return

Eddie POV

I woke up to the sound of laughter and when I walked down I found that Jack, Kim and Jerry down by the fire. Jack and Kim were the ones laughing so I'm guessing that Jerry did something stupid. I also noted that Jack and Kim were looking very close. I know that they were already good friends but something about them was different today but I couldn't figure it out so I went down to join them

"Morning Eddie" Kim greets me

"Morning" I say back

I sit down and join then and quickly discovered what they were laughing at. Jerry had tripped over the log which Jack told him about and now they were laughing at him because he fell face first into the sand and for some reason his mouth was open so he has sand in his mouth and was running to try and get rid of the sand from his mouth. He was shouting something about 'It's burning' while running. It was like someone had taken a cartoon and had made it human. Milton then appeared with this jug of water and gave it to Jerry who immediately took it and drank half the jug before spitting it back out.

"What is in that it's disgusting?" Jerry asked while reaching for his own water bottle

"If I told you what was in it then you would more than likely throw up" Milton said

"I'm just going to say it Jerry. You are an idiot. Why would you fall in sand with your mouth open" Kim said very bluntly to him

"Well I didn't know I was going to fall in the sand did I?" Jerry responded to her

"Still doesn't explain why you fell with your mouth open. It takes triple amount of time to fall than to shut your mouth" Kim argues back

"Well I'm slow" Jerry answers back

"Yes real slow" Kim says before Jack steps in

"You should just stop it right here before anyone get hurts" Jack says to Kim and Jerry

We start getting things ready for the day as we know we are all participating in the event when the horn goes. I go over to collect the bag as I'm the closest to it. I walk back over and Jack collects the bag off me. He hands the note to Kim while he prepares breakfast for us all

"So Kim what is our lovely team challenge today?" Jerry asks her just as she was about to speak

"Well if you let me read the note out then you would know" She tells him back

"Good Morning Team Water, I hope you slept well. Today is another team challenge and for those teams with more people the easier it will be. The challenge is called the Bridge of Peril and more will be explained later" Kim reads out

"Bridge of Peril doesn't sound too good" I say

"I can't see them having 5 people up on a bridge as we are supposed to have an advantage" Milton says

"It could be similar to the first challenge but with 5 bridges and because we have all 5 players then it's easier for us to do" Jerry tells us

"You could be on to something but 1- I can't see then putting on the same challenge twice and 2- The name is Bridge instead if Bridges indication that there will only be 1 bridge" Kim mentions

"We will know later then" Jerry mutters to her

"Just to let you know Jack, the days seem to be getting hotter and the challenges always seem to be at the hottest part of the day" I mention to him

"Thanks Eddie. I had noticed that but doing the challenges is going to be weird as I can actually see. The Island always made me do mine in the dark." Jack says to me before walking off with Kim towards the tree-house. At that point Milton comes up to me

"Do you think something is going on between Jack and Kim?" Milton asks me

"Defiantly but I'm not going to push them for info" I reply to him

"Are you talking about Jack and Kim?" Jerry asks as he walks over to us and me and Milton nod

"Well last night I'm almost certain I saw them kissing before Kim went into her room" Jerry tells us

"Really!" Me and Milton exclaim together

"Yep" Jerry says before he walks off

"I suppose we should have seen it coming though" I say to Milton

"Yep. They were always really close though I am wondering what will happen to them once we leave this island" Milton says

"Well that's for the future to know"

I walk off to start getting my things ready for today's challenge. The name implied that it was going to be high up so was getting my mind ready to do that. I was doing a bit of meditation when the horn sounded and we were off.

When we got to the challenge I could see 4 wooden bridges up in the air that were looking like they were on the verge of falling apart. I could also spot 4 bridges running underneath the bridges in the air like they were connected to them in some way. As I looked around at the other teams I could see that there were changes with Team Wood having 3 people instead of the 1 person they had the other day. I also spotted that Fire had lost a member which I remembered being the one who cheated during the knockout challenge. I also noticed that every team had their missing member back.

"Good morning teams. I hope you enjoyed your day off and have caught up with your returned missing members. Today's challenge is another team challenge to test your team skills. Behind me is the Bridge of Peril. The challenge is a race to get all of the rings from the bridge at the bottom to the hooks up at the bridge higher up. You have many ways to get the rings to the person on the bridge but you should know that there can only ever be one person on the bottom bridge and one person on the top bridge and that person must always be there. You should know that every member has to touch the ring before it counts. I'll give you a minute to discuss" The Island Master says bringing me out of my thoughts.

The team all come together to talk about it.

"I suggest that Jack goes on the top bridge if that's ok Jack" Milton suggests

"That's fine but how are we going to move the rings?" Jack questions

"I think that is something to decide when we see what options we have" Kim says

"Who's going on the bottom?" I ask

"Who wants to?" Kim asks the group

"I do" I say to them. The idea of heights still doesn't appeal to me so to be on the bottom will be better for me

"What are me, Kim and Milton doing then?" Jerry asks confused about the challenge

"It will depend on what option we have available to us when we go" Kim replies just as the Island Master returns to us with 4 Island helpers in the different colours of the 4 teams to take us to the starting point.

When we got to the location we could see the top bridge but along the trees on either side there were small platforms and stumps to climb up to however the platforms were on the other trees so the catch would have to be done in the air or with one of the people holding onto the tree.

"So I'm saying this is going to be a game of catch to throw them up to Jack" Jerry said after looking over the challenge

"I would guess that so who will go on what platform?" Milton asks

"I think there should be a good catcher on the 2nd platform and then a good one on the top one" Jack suggested

"I should go on the first platform then as I am hopeless at throwing and catching" Milton said and we all agreed to it

"So Jerry you go on the second and me on the top platform if you're ok with that" Kim told Jerry and he nodded in response to her

We then all got into our starting positions and the horn sounded to start our challenge. I got the first ring and then chucked it up. Milton missed it on the first go as I didn't throw it high enough but the 2nd go he caught it. He then waited for Jerry to come over to the other side and hold onto the tree which he did and then Milton chucked the ring to him. It took them 3 goes and then Jerry had to swing back which he didn't do successfully and so Kim had to swing out to Jerry's rope and pull him back. When Jerry next tried to swing back he did do successfully and then Kim went across to the tree. This was the point I started to chuck the next ring to Milton and he caught it on his first go and I noticed that Jack was placing our first ring into place.

The rest of the 2nd ring went perfectly with everyone catching it on their first goes but it was the 3rd go that catch people out when the platforms that Milton, Jerry and Kim were stood on disappeared at various times. This made our challenge a lot harder with them having to hold on to the trees to both throw and catch the rings. This meant a lot more rings were dropped and some fell from Jerry down to the floor though Milton did catch some of them. At this time I noticed that the bridge Jack was on was also very unstable meaning that when he went to catch them, there was a risk he would fall off and that ring wouldn't count.

It was when we were on our 4th ring after many attempts that Kim realised that they could climb slightly up and down and this meant that it was easier for them to throw them to each other and to catch. Just after I had thrown our last ring I looked over to the other teams to see how they were doing and I noticed that Wood's platforms had just gone from underneath them and Earth didn't have their platforms either but Fire did. From that I just assumed that Fire were in last as they still had platforms and that we were tied with Earth as they didn't have their platforms when I looked over. When I looked back up I saw that Kim was making the last throw to Jack which he caught easily and placed it in the basket and then our banner came down showing us that we had won.

After we had all come down we all celebrated and that's when I noticed Jack's arm didn't move away from Kim's side after the rest of us had pulled away and I shot a look to Milton to show him and he responded with another look that he had seen it. I think even Jerry had picked up on it as well.

When we got back to camp we all went our own ways to combat the heat as it was now early afternoon and it was the hottest afternoon we had experienced on this island so I decided to take a nap in the shade of the trees while Jack was in the sea, Kim was on the beach probably watching Jack, Milton was by the river in the shade and Jerry was doing something in the tree- house.

Kim POV

In the heat of the afternoon I decided to lie on the beach and enjoy the sun while getting glimpses of Jack in the sea shirtless might I add. I closed my eyes to take in the heat and the next thing I know I'm being dripped on. I open my eyes slowly to see Jack standing above me dripping water from his hair over me.

"What are you doing?" I ask him

"I'm standing here" He answers me back

"I mean why are you here getting me wet and not in the sea?" I say to him

"Well I was getting lonely and decided I would get you to come and join me" He told me

"Why didn't you get Jerry or Milton or Eddie" I wined at him

"Milton is doing something with the leaves that are by the river; Eddie is sleeping and who knows what Jerry is up too" He replies to me

"Well you could go and find out rather than annoy me" I say back to him

"But I wanted some alone time with you and I know the others know something is up by the looks they were giving to us and each other"

I think about what I'm going to do but then Jack picks me up and starts running to the sea

"Jack put me down" I screamed on more than one occasion and I bang on his back. He then stops running before dropping me in the sea. I come back up to see him laughing really hard so I jumped on him to pull him under which he did but fell so I went in again.

"Kimmy what did you do that for?" Jack asked me with a playful look in his eye

"Well Jacky you dropped me in the SEA for no reason so I thought you needed to get wet as well" I said back to him

"Well Kimmy you see I was still wet from before so it didn't bother me and it was nice and refreshing from that run to sea" Jack told me

"So you wouldn't mind going in again then" And he shook his head so I pushed him in again and not realising he had his hands on my hips he pulled me in as well. When I surfaced again I realised that Jack had swam off and I was left to catch him. I caught up to him when he stopped to look for me as I swimming under the water. When turned away to start swimming again I jumped on his back.

"Well I wonder who has jumped on my back. I know it's not Jerry as this person is smaller and it isn't Milton as this person painted toe nails and I'm certain Milton wouldn't paint his toe nails and it's not Eddie as this person has more hair so that leaves to say I've been jumped on by a WILD BEAR" Jack concludes before trying to get me off his back. When I slip off he turns round and grabs me

"You know Milton is watching us" He whispers in my ear

"Let him watch" I say back to him

"He wants some confirmation that we are boyfriend and girlfriend to tell the others" Jack tells me

"Oh ok" I say because I really wanted to kiss his as he looked gorgeous with the water droplets hanging from his hair

"I know I'm gorgeous and that you want to kiss me" Jack says to me which startles me

"Did I say my thoughts out loud again?"I question myself before slapping Jack

"Why did you slap me?" Jack questions

"You know why" I say back to him giving him a look

"Well I might but I'm just going to say it but you look gorgeous as well with those water droplets in your hair" He says to him and I look away because I know I'm blushing

"Aww is Kimmy blushing" I whack him hard and he shuts up and then swims off

When I finally catch up to him I see he is on the beach laying on my towel so I go over to him

"You took your time" He says looking down on a watch he wasn't wearing

"Well not everyone is as quick as a swimmer as you" I mutter hoping he wouldn't here but sadly he did

"Well thanks for admitting that I'm better than you but now I'm going to shower so see you later" Jack said getting up off my towel and giving me a peck on the cheek

"So you just got my towel all wet for no apparent reason" He nods to me "You know I hate you" And again he nods to me

"Well see ya" And with that Jack disappeared off towards the showers and I was left with a wet towel.

It was then that Milton appeared next to me and I knew where this was heading

"So what's going on between you and Jack?" Milton asked me

"Well I'm not sure" Well that was a lie as I knew what was going on I just didn't know how to answer that question

"If I was to guess I would say that you guys are dating by the way that you two act around each other and don't forget about that peck on the cheek I just saw him give to you" Milton rambled to me

"But I'm not sure what is going on" I try to tell Milton again so I don't have to talk about it

"It's obvious he has feelings for you though that's not surprising and I can tell you like him even if you haven't admitted it yet. What are you feelings towards him?" Milton asked

"Well Milton I'm not discussing my feelings towards someone with you. That is girl talk and last time I checked you're not a girl" I tell him and begin to walk off

"But I'm the closest to a girl you have here" He argues back to me but I just carry on walking.

At the campfire was when I next saw them as I came down when I was hungry. Tonight was really warm compared to the last few nights but was really humid which was weird considering there wasn't a cloud in the sky. When I came down I saw that Milton, Eddie and Jerry were discussing something and they kept looking over at Jack while Jack was boiling the water for the meal when it eventually arrived. I went over to sit with Jack

"You know they keep looking at you" I say to Jack when I sat down on the log next to him

"Yep they have been doing it all night and look they are looking at you now as well" He says back to me in a muffled voice

"You know what they are talking about" I say and he nods and as he was about to say something Milton interrupted

"We are off to get some more water. Be back soon" And then the 3 of them walked off

"You know when you left before Milton came and asked me about our relationship" I say to him still in a quiet voice as I know that the other boys will be hanging around

"What did you say?" Jack asked me

"Well I said that I wasn't sure what was going on and then he asked about my feelings and I told him that it was girl talk and that he wasn't a girl and he said he is the closest thing to a girl here" I told Jack

"Well he isn't far wrong about that but Eddie asked me about our relationship saying we were closer than he remembered but it seemed he was trying to get more out of me" Jack told me

"So are we going to tell them?" I asked as they seemed to know something was up

"If they carry on like this then we will but if not we won't. Are you happy with that?" Jack said and I nodded. It was then when the horn sounded and we heard the others say they would get it which they did.

"It seems like a heavy bag" Jerry says as he and Eddie brought the bag towards Jack. After they had placed the bag down Jack looked in and passed the note to me and started to cook up our meal.

"Good evening campers. Today your team has come first in today's challenge Bridge of Peril. Tomorrow's challenge is a 2 player game and it will involve water. I also recommend you start thinking about the final challenge. I can tell you that the final challenge will involve a lot of team work."

"Well that's nice of them to tell us that the final challenge will involve teamwork. It's kind of obvious" Jerry says

"Not necessarily. I have heard a lot of these type of shows throw in surprises such as splitting up teams or mixing teams up" Milton tells us

"Well if they were going to do something they would have done that already and I think the fiasco with Jack covered that" I told Milton

As Jack served us up our meal we began talking about the weather and how it was humid with it being dry for the last few days and how it didn't look like it was going to rain anytime soon. It ended with us all ended going to bed at different times and us all trying to catch up on sleep before the final challenge comes upon us. That was another discussion of the evening with different ideas about the final challenge but agreeing it will probably involve an escape of some sort.

When we went up Jack ended up coming into my room and we began discussing the final escape

"So what do you think will happen?" Jack asked me

"Well I think it's going to be split into parts maybe over 2 days and it ends with us trying to escape by canoe as that takes a lot of teamwork. We might have to do a challenge that involves getting the pieces" I told Jack

"You know that is similar to my idea with the challenge being split up but I think there will be more parts to it ending with a massive escape from the island. Your boat idea actually sounds like it could be true." He told me after a few minutes of us conducting our thoughts with mine being how close we were to finishing "Do you have any idea when this challenge is?" He asked me

"I vaguely recall someone telling me that knockout was the half way point" I say to him

"That means we have about 5 days left which isn't long at all" Jack says and it makes we wonder what will happen when we will escape

"Goodnight I'm going to go and catch up on my sleep" Jack tells me before giving me a kiss and leaving. I'm then left to think what will happen when we leave and return as we have formed a friendship between the group that I don't want to be broken.
