"Hey guys!" I whisper-shouted to the three dudes. They looked up at me, and I pointed over to the building I found. "I found a place to relax for a while."

The three guys nodded and quickly made their way over without question. It kind of interested me. How they kind of just... automatically trusted me. I didn't get it. It's the flipping zombie apocalypse. Anyone that trusting should be dead. I wonder what their lives were like before everything went to shit.

Ah well, I'd ask them later. Right now was about food and sleep. The little hunting trip we went on was taking longer then we thought it was going to. The little convenience store I got all my food from? Burned to the ground. Just a pile of ashes. I shook my head. Really, so there goes my food supply.

I sighed before running over to the building. It seemed safe enough. We would have to check for Walkers, but the outside was surprisingly still intact. I jumped down from my perch on one of the buildings and walked up next to Cry by the door. Toby and Pewds both had their guns out, ready to shoot anything that came close.

"I already checked, door's locked." Cry said, running a hand through his hair. I frowned and bent down, looking at the lock.

"Eh, seems easy enough." I muttered.

Cry tilted his head to the side. "What?"

I didn't reply. Instead, I grabbed a hair pin from my black locks and inserted it into the lock. I jiggled it around a bit, sticking my tongue out of my mouth slightly, until I heard a click. A grin spread across my face and I stood up straight, looking over at Cry. He looked at me, as if he was remembering something else, something from a long time ago. "You okay?" I asked.

At the sound of my voice, he seemed to snap out of it. "Yeah, yeah, just... you remind me of a video game character... You ever play Bioshock Infinite?" he asked.

I thought for a second, then shrugged. "Honestly? I have no idea. Can't really remember much before the zambies came around." I turned back to the door, and opened it without another word. I pulled my bow out and knocked an arrow, getting ready to shoot it if necessary. I heard Cry walk in after, and then Toby and Pewds. There was a slight rustling, then light. Someone must have taken out one of the flashlights from my backpack. Huh... I forgot I had those.

"We should split up, check the place out." Pewds suggested.

"No!" Toby squeaked. We all looked at him, slightly surprised. He blushed. "C'mon, you've all seen horror movies right? You never split up! It just makes things worse!"

I laughed and shook my head. "Oh Toby. It's fine. But, to make you feel better, we can go in groups of two. It'll make things easier and faster. Trust me, it'll be fine."

Toby still looked unsure but he still nodded. I smiled at him. "Okay, so I'll go with Toby and search upstairs. You two search down here." I told them. Pewds nodded and started walking off. Cry glanced over at us once more, the light reflecting off his mask, before he turned and followed his friend.

I nodded and looked at Toby. "You ready?"

"... No." Toby said, grinning sheepishly. I rolled my eyes. How old was this guy? I can tell just by looking at him that he is older than I am, but he certainly doesn't act like it. I reached over and took the flashlight from him, before grabbing his hand. He looked at me, unsure of what I was doing. But I just gave him a goofy grin and started walking towards the stairs.

I heard Toby give a chuckle before he followed after me.

15 seconds later and we were upstairs. Toby had insisted on letting go of my hand and holding the flashlight, so that I could have my bow and arrow ready, just in case. We walked down the corridor and I felt a cold draft leaking through the rooms. I shivered. I hated corridors. Nothing good ever happens in corridors. They were just long hallways filled with death.

We went from room to room checking for walkers, but found nothing. Finally, we came to the last room. However, this one was locked. I again, took out my hairpin and picked the lock. I walked inside, Toby slowly following behind me. He shined the flashlight over everything. The only things there were a note on a desk and a closed wardrobe.

I walked over and picked up the note. Toby came over and gave me light with the flashlight. I read it aloud.

Day 32
Yes, surprisingly I'm still alive. The world went crazy, but I have been surviving. Alone.
It has not been easy. I stay up here, day after day, watching the dead walk past on the
streets below. I only have a crack in the boarding on the windows to look through, so it
isn't much of a view. But it is, however, better than not knowing what is happening. They
are getting closer. They can smell me. I have seen how they devour other living beings of
flesh. And I fear, soon I will be next. I can hear them pounding on the doors at night. I have
yet been able to get a good nights sleep. Food will run out soon, and so will any chance of
survival. The only thing I can think to do is hide in the closet. If everything goes as I am
afraid it will, this closet, right next to me, will be my final resting place...

I finished reading the note, before glancing, wide-eyed, at Toby. He stood, completely still, staring down at the note. "...Toby?" I asked softly. He didn't move. I slowly turned around, and I felt... well, I'm not entirely sure what I felt. But I do know, whatever it was, it was bone-chilling. "Toby?" I called a little louder than the first time. He still didn't move. So, by myself I walked over to the now open wardrobe and looked inside, squinting my eyes. "Toby, this thing wasn't open when we came in here, right...?" I asked.

Toby's eyes widened and he quickly turned around to face me. But before he could push me out of the way, a walker leapt from the wardrobe, right on me. I screamed, as it tackled me to the floor. In fear of being bitten, I used the only thing I had to keep it's teeth from biting into my flesh: my bow. I thrust it upwards into the walkers strong jaw, before it's teeth could scrape me. I pushed as hard as I could, but unfortunately, I never really had much upper arm strength.

The walker clamped it's jaw down hard, and I heard a clean snap. My bow broke apart, leaving nothing between me and the walker. It got ready to take a bite of me, when I suddenly felt it's weight lifted up off me. I quickly rolled over to the side, and just stayed there, laying face up, breathing heavily.

I felt someone kneel down next to me, but it seemed distant. Out of the corner of my eye, I also saw another guy bringing a machete down on the walker's skull, completely destroying the brain. But still, I just laid there, trying to catch my breath. I mean, I nearly died! Can you blame me for that? All that time alone, and not once did I ever get that close to the end.

I felt two other people kneel down next to me, but I ignored them. I brought my arm up and covered my eyes with it, taking deep breaths. Welp, there's another thing to give me nightmares. Fan-fucking-tastic.

"Hey, Hawk! You okay?" I heard. Everything was starting to clear up again. I could feel someone checking me for bites and I swatted their hand away.

"I'm fine." I mumbled. "Not bitten or anything, k?"

I heard several sighs of relief, and right now, I felt like it was appropriate. I took one more breath, before sitting up and looking at the guys by my side. Their eyes were all full of concern, and I felt a pang of guilt about making them worry. I gave them a reassuring smile, and they all smiled back. However, I did notice Pewds glancing at my arms, my neck. Checking for bites.

I narrowed my eyes and waved a hand in front of his face. "Hey, not bitten. Hear? Not. Bitten. I can spell it if you want me-"

He held up a hand, a small grin on his face. "No, no, there's no need for that. I was just making sure. You're sure you are alright though? You want to take a nap or something? We already finished checking the rest of the house, it's all clear."

As much as I wanted to protest, a nap sounded really good right now. I gave a sheepish grin and nodded. "Yeah, a nap sounds nice."

They all lead me downstairs, into the main dining area of the large house, and set up a small sleeping bag for me. I lay down on it, and closed my eyes. However, I couldn't fall asleep. So I listened to the guys bicker about how to make a fire, and which way was faster and more effective. I smiled slightly to myself before letting myself drift off, to a world of nightmares.

Cause no matter how much they asked me, it would always be the same answer. "I'm okay." But the truth is, I am not 'okay' and I probably never will be again.

Hey, guys. I'm back! Sorry it's been so long, between school and my new obsession of Doctor Who, I haven't found much time to write. But here I am! New chapter! Your welcome! Hehe, so if you could please tell me what you think, that would be great. I love you all and thanks for reading.
