The sound of Abby retching woke Gibbs early the next morning. Climbing out of bed, he pulled on a pair of sweat pants and a t-shirt and made his way downstairs. He returned a few minutes later with a package of crackers and a cup of Ginger tea just as Abby crawled back into bed.

"This should help settle your stomach." Gibbs handed her the cup and then opened the pack of crackers for her.

"Thanks, the nausea is pretty bad this morning."

Gibbs sat beside her on the bed. Reaching out he stroked her hair while she sipped her tea and nibbled on the crackers. "Don't have anywhere to be today so we can just take it easy till it passes."

"Hmm, spending a lazy day in bed with my super sexy Special Agent sounds like heaven." Abby finished her tea and handed the cup back to Gibbs. He sat the cup on the nightstand then leaned back against the headboard before pulling Abby into his arms. She sighed and relaxed into his embrace.

"So, what time is your appointment tomorrow?" He asked softly as he pulled his fingers gently through her silky hair.

"It's at 8am. I managed to get the first appointment of the day. I didn't want to be too late getting into work on my first day back."

"I'll call and let Vance know we'll be in around 10am. That should give us plenty of time."

"Are you sure? You don't have to come if you don't want to."

"I wouldn't miss it Abby. Want to be there for all of it."

"I want you there for all of it. I just don't want you to feel pressured."

"Not going to. This is our baby Abs. I missed out on a lot of this when Shannon was pregnant with Kelly. One of my biggest regrets is all of the firsts that I missed out on. This time I don't wanna miss a thing. Wanna be right there holding your hand through the morning sickness, the appointments, Lamaze classes, and the birth." He tilted her chin up and kissed her. "Together Abs, we do every part of this together."

"Oh Gibbs," her eyes filled with tears at his overwhelming declaration. Her arms tightened around him as she kissed his cheek.

"How bout a nap and then we can try for some lunch?"

Sounds like a plan to me, Abby yawned and snuggled into Gibbs chest.

They spent the day lazing around. After a rather large lunch they moved to the couch and spent several hours watching old westerns and reading. Gibbs eventually escaped to the basement while Abby took a nap. When she woke a few hours later, they ordered takeout and after they finished eating he settled back on the couch with her to watch TV. They both knew the next day would be long so it was still early when they made their way upstairs to bed.

When Gibbs woke at 6am the next morning he couldn't keep the smile off his face. Waking up with Abby in his arms the past three days had been amazing and he was going to do everything in his power to make sure that he never woke without her again. As much as he wanted to stay wrapped up with her, he was a conditioned Marine. He needed his coffee and he needed to run. If he hurried maybe he could talk her into a joint shower when he came back.

A couple of hours, a co-op shower, and a short drive later Gibbs decided that one of the good things about early appointments was that the office was empty. The nurse had taken them back to an exam room as soon as they checked in. They checked Abby's weight and made a notation on the chart.

"I have some paper work for you and your husband to fill out Mrs. Scuito. It's mostly prior medical history. Just fill those out and get them back to me. I'm going to get a set of vitals and then I'll have you undress and put a gown on."

The nurse took Abby's blood pressure, pulse, and temperature and made notations of each. Once she was done she opened a cabinet and handed Abby a gown.

"You can keep your socks on but everything else needs to come off. Dr. Williams will be in with you shortly."

As she undressed, Gibbs finished filling out his family medical history and started working on the forms that Abby had started. He had to ask the answers to most of the questions but it didn't take long to finish them.

A few minutes later the door opened and a tall dark haired man walked into the room. The man smiled and said hello to Abby before turning to Gibbs.

"I'm Mark Williams and you must be Gibbs." The doctor extended his hand.

"Jethro Gibbs."

"Well, it's nice to finally meet you. I have heard a lot about you over the years." He picked up the chart and turned back to Abby.

"Abby, how are you?"

"I'm great Doc. I'm Pregnant and we just got engaged." She flashed her ring and Doc grabbed her hand.

"Julie is going to be so jealous. You'll have to show her. She's already talking all about your trip to Paris, which is where I am guessing we will be spending our next anniversary."

Gibbs watched the two and he listened to them talk. He was trying to determine if it was odd that Abby was so familiar with her doctor.

"Ok, let's get this show on the road." The doctor said as he picked her chart back up and quickly read through the papers she and Gibbs had filled out. "This says your last period was June 6th."

"Yes, the conception date would be June 20th."

"Ok so you should be about ten weeks. I'm going to do a pelvic first and then do an ultrasound. I need you to lay back and put your feet in the stirrups."

Gibbs helped her lay back and then stood at her side holding her hand as he watched the doctor put on gloves.

"Ok, Abby you know the drill. You're going to feel some pressure." The doctor explained what he was doing and what Abby would be feeling more for Gibbs benefit than hers.

"Everything looks and feels good, no abnormalities." He commented after a few minutes as he stood up and removed his gloves tossing them in the waste basket, and washing his hands.

"Now, let's take a look and see what we have." He moved the machine closer to the bed. Covering her lower half with a drape, he had Abby lift her gown as he turned on the monitor.

"Ok Abby, we warm this but it might still be a little cold," he warned her. He squirted some gel onto her lower abdomen and applied the ultrasound wand moving it slowly while applying gentle pressure until he had a clear view. Well mom and dad I would say your right at 10 weeks. With conception on the 20th, your due date will be March 13th for 40 week gestation"

He made a few adjustments and typed a few things into the computer then hit print. "Ok, I think you should see this. Turning the screen so that the couple had a clear view he let them look at the image, knowing that Abby would be quick to notice. He was surprised when it was Gibbs that spoke first.

"Twins, we're having twins?" His had tightened around Abby's.

"Oh my god, one sac means their identical." Abby squealed.

"Yes, you've got identical twins in there. They both look nice and healthy. Let's turn this on so we can hear their heart beats." He flipped the switch and the room was filled with the sound of rapidly beating hearts.

Gibbs brushed his tears away with the back of his hand. Then leaned down and kissed Abby. It wasn't a chaste kiss. It was a deep kiss that was full of love and promise.

"That I believe is what caused your current condition."

Abby giggled at the doctor. "So they look ok?"

"They look to be developing right on schedule. Their size and development look very good. Have you had any nausea, vomiting, dizziness?"

"I have had some occasional nausea for about a month. It seems to pass fairly quickly though. I was more nauseous and actually threw up for the first time yesterday. But it didn't last long after Gibbs made me some Ginger tea and brought me crackers. So far I feel fine today. Eating hasn't really been a problem other than I feel hungry all the time and I seem to eat twice as much as I normally do."

"That all sounds normal. You need to realize that you have two babies in there and your body needs the extra calories. Your weight gain should be twice as much. There is a good possibility that you will start to show soon. Next month I expect to see an increase of four to six pounds. I also want you to wean yourself off the caffeine."

"I already started that. I haven't had a Caf-pow in almost two months and I cut back to one cup of coffee a day."

"That's great. You also need to make sure you get plenty of rest. Fatigue is usually more frequent with multiples. Just listen to your body and you will be fine. I have a couple of scripts for some prenatal vitamins and we will schedule you back in one month. In the meantime if you develop unusual symptoms such as weight loss or excessive nausea or vomiting you need to give me a call."

"What about her work? Are there any restrictions? Is it safe for her to be working around chemicals in the lab?"

"Most of them should be fine. But I would suggest wearing a paper mask anytime you are dealing with chemicals. I have a list of the ones you need to stay away from. If there is any that you use that are not on the list and that you are unsure about, look them up or call me."

"That sounds good. I think I know most of the hazards but I'll do a refresher to be sure. Thanks Doc."

"It's my pleasure. You can call me anytime if you have questions. Oh, and call Julie today. She will kill me if she finds out I have known longer than her."

"I'll be sure to call her at lunch."

"Gibbs, it was nice to finally meet you."

"Thanks." Gibbs was unsure what to say to the man.

Once the doctor left the room he turned to Abby. "So, I take it you know him well?"

"Oh, sorry about that. I should have told you before. Do you remember my friend Jules?" Abby asked as she cleaned her stomach off and re-dressed.

"Is she the blonde that works for MedTech? Kinda reminds me of a more hyper version of you."

"That's her. Well, I met Doc at a party and we kind of went out a few times. On our second date I invited Jules to meet up with us at a club and they hit it off. They got married six months later and they have two kids. Charlie is two and Gabby is six months."

"So you don't find it strange that your Ob is someone you dated?" His voice sounded a little strained to his own ears.

"No, we just went out as friends. Plus he is one of the best in his field and I trust him."

"I guess I see your point. I mean it's not like you slept with him or anything."

"Oh my god, you're jealous." She laughed when he glared at her. "No need Jethro. We never even kissed. Strictly friends, so there is no reason to be jealous. Plus, I already have my man."

Gibbs couldn't help but smile at the thought of how lucky he was. "Yeah, you do. I'm all yours Abs."

She knew he could see her face light up, her eyes shining bright with love and pride. Leroy Jethro Gibbs was hers and that made her the luckiest woman in the whole damn world.
