SO this is it, the final chapter... yeah, i suck at keeping a schedule. I still can't believe it's been a year since i i last updated. It sure has been while, so. lets begins with the final installment to the ultima saga,

Sweet Jesus, to say I'm a graceful boy would be like saying one day, Satin will be ice skating his way to work, pigs will eventually learn how to fly, and I will officially become a monkeys uncle. I mean what else can I say. Would you even think to call yourself graceful after throwing up in a time portal, falling strait on your ass with your girlfriend knocking you back down as you try and get up, and then throwing up again as I stood up? Of course you damn well wouldn't. I couldn't even see my environment strait. Either way, I was back, and ready for a nap.

I was about to fall down and sleep my troubles away, not even caring where I landed, until Zoe caught me.

"Ah ah ah," she said, struggling to raise my heavy body up. "Don't you dare pass out right now." I couldn't really blame her. Thanks to my human side being violently ripped from my body, everything has changed for me. I was stuck in mid-demon transformation. My hair had gone back to brown, but I still looked like a sixteen year old, almost a heads height taller than I naturally was, and my hair was still long, stretching down to my shoulders.

I tried to stand up to little success as my full weight was flung back down on Zoe, knocking both of us into the soft ground. From the sounds and the scent, it felt like they were at the beach. My internal clock told me that was I was defiantly back in my own time, but of course; I couldn't hold back the pain.

"Max, stay with me… just stay with me!" Zoe shouted. I didn't even have any energy to cry out. What could I do? My body was filled with pain from the suppression of my demon half. Zoe begin dragging me through the beach, and over to the rocky shore where she literally dumped me onto the hard ground.

"A little rougher why don't you." I growled as I ruffled the rocks out of my hair.

"Sorry," Zoe said softly.

The ground despite it being so hard was pretty comfy. It must have been my exhaustion; I would've slept anywhere, even on a lava plume, and called it comfy. Before I could sleep, a scent caught my attention. It smelt kind of familiar. Was it blood? What it the blood of someone I know?

… Yes… It's Seth's scent.

"Rex!" I said, shooting up. "He's here! He's here somewhere- AGH!" I cried out loudly as my body gave me payback for getting it up so quickly. It felt like electricity fired from a wood chipper with me inside. I promptly slammed back down, already tired.

"Hell no, you're not going anywhere." Zoe said, her confidence brimming. "You've got to stay and rest."

"S-stay and rest? I'm a hero! I never rest!" I said, trying to get back up again, failing miserably.

"Can you even see?" She asked impatiently.

"Well…. No" I said, still trying to get my sorry ass up.

"Then your staying right here!" She said, with one final huff, she ran off, leaving me there to suffer. Wouldn't you believe it?

"Hmph, some girlfriend you are." I said laughing at my own sarcasm.

Something else smelt off. Was that… fire? Oh God no… and Demons too… and… Seth! shit, why didn't I go with her?! I tried one last time to get up, with no avail my muscles failed, and I flopped back onto the ground.

Rex flew through his own time portal, headed straight for his old home town. He could see the blinding, strobe colors through his closed eyes, making him feel nauseous. Christ, did he hate this kind of traveling. Why he couldn't just borrow the ship, he would never know, but this was his only option to this point.

After Max's death, Rex had to head back to the future to preserve things in his time, and mourn. Even now, several months later, he still couldn't get used to it, or even accept it. They grew up together, lived together, fought together, and bled together, hell, nearly died together. Many nights of tears still wouldn't save him from his guilt. Many nights he never slept, knowing that it should have been him. It should have been Rex who gave up his life to preserve life from the people of the world, but of course, that silly, brave idiot had to play the hero… God he missed him.

After hearing a disturbance in the time zone, Rex abandoned his grief until later to succeed in his job. It was probably just a small group of demons that found their way to town. Maybe he'll meet Zoe… Maybe they can both stop by the graveyard, and pay their respects to Max.

Again, Rex felt tears well up in his eyes. How could he help it? Rex didn't even bother staying to pay his respects, his grief was too strong to cope with it, but look at Zoe. She was their when he died; she buried him for God's sake. She decided to stand alone and fight all those demons that tried to destroy the city that Max gave his life to save.

Rex sighed and wiped the tears away from his face, viewing the end of the tunnel. He was so close now, he could feel it, he would be able to say goodbye, maybe even find some solace, or maybe… God help him, redemption. To think it had been fifteen years since he had last seen the everyone.

Zoe knew she should have turned back the moment she ran for the city. Three things struck her when she entered the city gate.

One: The city was absolutely infested with demons.

Two: A demon so big, it made a metal gear look like a wind-up toy was currently stomping its way through town. No… that's not a demon, it was the Black Tyranno. It was so much bigger than she had last scene it, as if it's natural size was its baby size in comparison. She was going to have a tough time taking it down.

Three: She was completely and totally alone. No backup, no army, no allies, and her boyfriend was currently on the beach, struggling with his deadly personality.

To think everything looked so good the moment she left. Now the city was in flames. Screams echoed through the rubble filled streets; buildings lay, broken, and dust-filled, some completely demolished. Some were lit on fire, some were one good kick away from collapsing completely, and even some had cars buried deep inside the walls, and shattered windows.

In summation…

She was screwed, inside and out. But was that going to stop her?

Hell no!

With all this going on, this was her fight now; her battle to win In glory, or die with dignity. No time for screwing around, no time for calling for help. It was time to battle her hardest, and show everyone was she truly had.

She walked, dagger out, deeper into the city, her florescent green aura glowed brightly and swirled around her.

"Anyone wanna die? Just step right up!" She taunted. As expected, all the grunts charged in, one at a time. Zoe smiled, slicing and dicing them with incredible grace and speed with her dagger. All the grunts dropped like flies as the green whirlwind chopped them to splinters.

"C'mon, I know you can do better than that!" She said, her face brimming with confidence. She hadn't felt this alive since she was with Paris. It was truly unbelievable. Her Drive energy was so similar to Paris; she could've sworn that Paris maybe gave it to her.

What was left of the demons coward in fear, backing up slowly as the beautiful green typhoon came to a close.

"Is that all you have? Really?" Zoe said laughing. Could anyone really blame her for being so confident? Of course not, don't be ridiculous. She was invincible! Finally surpassing Max in power due to her training.

The demons were all trembling, cowering under the goddess, but for some reason, they were staring at something above her. She turned and looked at someone that scared her beyond belief. She shook violently, and stared at the man wide-eyed.

"You…" She said, her voice shaky. Seth grinned down at his next prey.

"Well… someone's feeling good… that's good. I finally have a challenge for the black tyranno."

Hot damn, how long have I been laying here? Did I fall asleep? Maybe… okay, what happened in the mean time? I landed here gracefully… dammit I can't even lie to myself, I fell flat on my butt, sliding on the wet sand with Zoe slamming into my decimated carcass. She got up first, and forbade me to leave.

Something made me thing though, Zoe has the power to heal people, and while she pounded down my demon side, and healed my outside wounds, why didn't she heal my inside where all the muscles and bones were trashed? Did she go out on a pride trip? God! What the hell was she trying to accomplish with this? She was dealing with an army of demons, without me! … Do I actually consider myself better than her? Man this hurts too much to think about right now.

The sky was scarred with smoke; the smells of the world were choking me inside, making me cough every now and again. I couldn't have been lying here more than a few hours. Thanks to that fall, my bones were probably cracked in many places, and my muscles were scraped beyond repair. What can I say? . .

Well, I'm not going to accomplish anything by just laying here, I at least still need to support Zoe if I can.

"Okay this is gonna hurt…" I muttered to myself, trying to rise up again. As soon as my hand touched the soft ground, pain instantly shot up my entire arm. I cried out, feeling my arm throb with the intensity of my pain, and erupt even higher as my body slammed back onto the ground. I shouted every word that would probably get me the belt if my parents were to ever find me saying, no matter how old I was.

I gave up trying, and lied on my back, absorbing every bit of the pain, with a heavy sigh. There was absolutely nothing I could do. The worst part wasn't the fact that he was devastating injured, or the fact that he couldn't fight the threat that was currently destroying his town, no… what hurt him most was the fact that Zoe went out intentionally, on her own, leaving him injured to fight demons. Maybe she thought that I thought I was better than her?

I don't know, and frankly, I don't care… right now I have t-

My body was on fire! No… it was being frozen. No… it was being electrocuted, or maybe all three mixed in together. Whatever it was, his body hurt so badly, it made wolverines little chrome dip like a flu shot. I thrashed badly, trying to make at least an inkling of the pain disappear to no avail.

That bitch will not hold me back! I will be free!

No… you will not. I will keep you in as long as it takes! I screamed back in my head. I shut my eyes tightly, welcoming the darkness from my eyelids. In the darkness, I could see a mirror… but what I saw defiantly wasn't me. It had my face, but it was much taller, with my style of hair, except silver, and much longer.

His eyes… his deep crimson stared deep into my soul. Or was this really soul?

"I thought you loved me…"

He gave me a mocking moping face. It was making me sick, despite knowing that it was my own usual sarcastic face.

Damn, this is the face I usually give my enemies when I know I can eliminate them with merely a thought. God, if I die again, I should apologize to those demons that had to look at those eyes.

"Shut up…" I growled back in my head.

"Don't shut me out, Max" The demon me said. "I am you, don't you know, your true self."

"Shut up!" I thought even louder.

"Quit telling yourself to shut up, faker." He said, his sarcasm showing broadly. "Just admit it. You love this power don't you? Why don't you just let it go?" I cradled my hand between my hands, and began breathing roughly. The demon stood in my head, his smiling growing wider and wider.

"Think about it, you little shit, I have been keeping you alive for so long, ever since the battle with Rex in the city." The mirror began to grow larger, spreading more than the eye could see. The demon began to pace his new distance. "I'm tired of living deep inside your consciences, I want to be free, and I don't care if I have to tear you apart from the inside to do it."

"NO! Shut up! I won't let you!" I screamed loudly. "I can't stand you! I'll never be you! NEVER!" The pain was too intense for me to do anything more. I could feel Zoe's limiter beginning to break. This time, not even Zoe would be able to hold me back if I were to unleash.

"You're afraid of me, Max, you're afraid of what we can do! Who we can hurt… let me out, and you'll have nothing to fear anymore." His pacing began to get less frantic, taking one step every now again.

"SHUT UP, DAMN YOU! I'm not afraid of you!" I screamed, my eyes streaming from the pain.

But was I?

So far, all I've done with this power was destroy, and I've only barely been in control. I always wanted to hold back, not out of compassion for the enemy, or over-confidence, but for the fact that I man lose control so easily. There was always a risk; always a shadow deep in the cockles of my mind.

"I…" I stammered trying to think through the pain. "I am afraid."

"What?" The demon me drawled smugly.

"I am afraid. I'm afraid of you, afraid of what I'll become if I ever let you in" I told him as I stopped shaking. I'm afraid of what I may do, the people I could hurt." With every word, I could feel my body working its way up.

"I'm afraid of the man I'll become… but." I stopped to look at the demonic me, his smug face retreating, and a face of discomfort, even fear began to replace it. "That doesn't mean we can't be one. After everything we've been through, it wasn't just you keeping me alive, my humanities been keeping you alive."

"What are you talking about, fool." He growled, clearly getting angry and angrier with each word.

"I'm saying your nothing without me, you bastard." I said, my own smug face returning to me.

His demon aura glowed bright crimson; he barred his teeth, his face flushed. "You DARE?! I am nothing without YOU?! YOU EXIST BECAUSE OF ME!"

"Fuck you" I said, chuckling to myself as the pain began to subside. "I've won wars without you, and I can do it again. Where were you in the battle to collect the dinosaur cards? Where were you in the spectral battles? Where were you against my one-on-one battles with Seth? Nowhere. My humanity bests you, demon scum." I couldn't take it, I laughed at how cliché I sounded, but every word rang with the truth.

"shut up, shut up, SHUT UP!" He screamed. His hand sparked with crimson electricity and was shoved through the mirror, shattering it like actual glass. He gripped my throat, and tried to wring my head off, but somehow, he just couldn't, despite how strong he was.

"Don't you see how pathetic this is?" I said, grabbing his wrist, and sending him careening down to the floor. My face appeared inches over his. "Why can't we all just get along?" I chuckled.

"What… what are you?" he asked in fear.

It took me a minute to answer, but I knew what the answer was. I always knew it. I was not human, nor was I demon, but what was I?

"I am a nefillim, a mix between demon and man, and I will not be taken over by the likes of you!" I raised my fist, and pounded down onto his head. As soon as my fist connected with his forehead,he disappeared into crimson dust, dispersing in the recesses of my mind. I opened my eyes, my vision so much sharper than ever. I stood up, the pain already subsided, and my stared onto the damaged, and flame-filled city. Fire was in the sky, and through everything, the head of the toughest dinosaur I've ever seen was standing, roaring loudly, his voice shattering what was left of the glass in the area from the sheer for.

"Well... this outta be interesting." I said. I started to run towards the city, a resolve burning inside me.

Zoe couldn't take the pressure of the dinosaur's blows. She didn't even have any time to react as the giant started stomping down on her force shield. Cracks of light were already beginning to appear. Beads of sweat ran down her face as she tried to keep her shields up.

"It's over, girl, just give up!" Seth shouted over the loud crashes of the giants foot smashing over her green shield.

One stomp, two stomps, three stomps, they just wouldn't stop. "C"mon… c'mon… I can do this." Her voice was straining. She didn't have much left in her.

She couldn't believe it. All her training with Max after their battle with Rico, all of her training and exploits to protect her town from the demons, and still it wasn't enough. Maybe her pride wasn't worth her life. It was a terrible idea not to fully heal Max, what was she thinking? Had she really wanted a slice of the pie that badly?

Was it even worth it anymore?

A small layer of the shield shattered, and she lay on one knee, straining to keep that last layer up. This couldn't be it, could it?

No, she refused to go down this easily, not without a fight.

She spread her hands with a small shout, spreading the shield out with force so strong, the Black Tyranno's foot was launched back, staggering it. She put her hands together again, and focused every bit of energy she had left into this one strike. She shot her hands out with another shout as a giant column of pure viridian power. All she was Seth's look of surprise before he was enveloped in her energy.

An explosion echoed rippled through the city as her power erupted. Then all was silent.

Was it over? Did she win? She had to have, none could have survived that. A smile broke on her face as she collapsed to the ground, trying to catch her breath. She had done it! And she had done it alone!

A loud booming laugh broke her from her glee. "Well… not as powerful as Max's, but I must admit, that stung!" He appears through the smoke, his coat burnt, but in all, her was still alive.

"No…" Zoe moaned. She couldn't believe that this could happen. Seth was alive and well, as well as the tyranno, nothing could stop them. With one final gasp, she flopped down, her power completely extinguished, as the darkness took over.

Rex had arrived on top of a skyscraper, not the best choice for him, but it was better than nothing. The first thing he could see was his beloved city in ruin. After all that the D-team had been through to keep this place safe, and this happens? It made him truly sick.

What he saw was something truly terrifying. It was Seth. He was back, truly powerful, radiating with drive energy. And under him was the Black tyranno, somehow bigger than ever before. Suddenly, it roared, sending the entire building down, forcing to him to jump onto a falling rock, and speed to the ground, hopping with grace on the rocks till him rolled on the ground, claws out.

As expected, Seth had already spotted him. "Well, well, I can't get a break here, can I?

Rex stayed silent. His future was looking good, until Seth's exploits screwed it all up. Without warning, the dinosaur raised its hind leg, and was stomped down. Rex jumped away, his blue aura swirling around him, increasing his speed. He walked across the leg of the beast, across its stomach, and along its long neck up to where Seth was, on top of its head.

Rex landed, claws out, his blue eyes meeting Seth's blue glare. "What are you doing here, Seth?" Rex growled.

"Taking what truly belongs to me, this world." He said simply, as if Rex's question wasn't worth his time.

"Where did you get all this power?"

Seth laughed. "Like I'd tell you, Rex Creation." Rex recoiled slightly, remembering his real name.

"You did this… your existence is destroying this world, and now I'm going to make you pay." Rex drew into his stance, and attacked, swinging his claws at Seth in a rapid pace. Seth was dodging unnaturally fast, to the point where Rex could only strike his afterimage. It was impossible to be this fast. Not even Rex could make that.

Seth appeared behind Rex. Before he could react, Seth's hand charged with purple drive energy, and he slammed his powerful hand into Rex's back. Pain shot through his body, making him fly off the Tyranno, landing onto a small, busted building, pulverizing the ground. Rex couldn't see an end in sight. But he still had to fight… somehow.

The first person I tried to find was Zoe. She was easily found under a small amount of rubble. Looking at her broken, injured form drove every semblance of anger out of me, replacing it with sadness. Honestly, I had been so angry with her that she had been stupid enough to leave me behind for the sake of her own damn pride, but hey, love conquers all goddammit.

"Zoe, c'mon, please wake up." I said, gripping her hand.

I could feel her stirring under my grip. At least she's alive. I swear, I'm going to ream Seth a new asshole in his damn forehead when I'm done with him.

I picked her up, and took one good leap. I flew up so high, the buildings became little squares below me.

Note to self, never, EVER overdo your jumping.

I landed back onto the beach, and rested her down onto the sand. She gave a soft, cute little moan as my hand left hers.

Damn I loved it when she did that.

"I'll be back in a moment… I just have to kill the most powerful being in the world, his several hundred foot pet, and an army. No biggie!" I laughed at my own stupidity.

Ahh… I'm gonna die painfully!

And I'm just fine with that right now.

With one last look at her beautiful face, I ran towards the city strait to where the Black Tyranno walked.

"we-he-hell, you, are one big son of a bitch." I said, casually walking to it.

"Max… I thought I left you behind back at the future…" Seth dropped from the head of the dinosaur, and onto the ground in front of me. He appeared to be hoisting something over his shoulder. "I suppose you're here to stop me… and how do you plan to do that, Taylor.

He began to pace the area around me, kicking over rubble that just happened to be in his way.

"Do you plan on sending me on a journey through another dimension portal, possible damning me this time? Are you going to obey your pride, and fight me one on one again? I sure hope you don't fall so quickly, like your teammates." He swung the object he was holding, and tossed it in front of me. It wasn't an object… it was Rex!

He was badly injured, and broken; His right arm was bent in a way I don't think an arm should. The was a noticeably long gash spread between his shoulder to his ribs, and was bleeding profusely. I could feel my blood boiling. How dare he do this to my team, I won't take this! I refuse to take this anymore, Seth is going to hell, and I'm going to be his ticket there.

I extended my arm, feeling the rush of crimson drive energy circulate around me. In a rush of black, my sword appeared in its dark sheath.

"Oh… someone's angry today." Seth mocked. "You know, you share the same look as your father before he died.

My anger was already past boiling point, if this bastard so much as thought of my father, he will pray hopelessly for a quick death.

"What the hell did you just say?" I growled, my fangs already beginning to extend.

"Your fathers power was always on my list to collect… I just didn't know it would be so easy! And the girls parents… if only her father didn't have to get in the way, I could have killer that she-devil of a mother, and made off without any bit of collateral damage."

My world drifted to space in beyond. My vision tinted red. It was him! It all started with him… that sick, jack-booted fuck! That was it! I'll kill him! I will kill him!

My sword was out of my sheath before I knew it, and I charged, roaring loudly. Seth went into a fighters stance, and waited. As I went for a jab to his chiseled chest, his hands lit up with a purple aura. He grabbed the blade of the sword, and yanked it, taking me along with it. He slammed me into the ground with so much power, I could feel the earth shaking, and the ground shatter underneath me. Pain shot up my body, and it only got worse as he slammed his hand down onto my stomach .

This pain was so severe; it matched the time his power was literally being ripped out of his body.

As soon as my vision cleared, I lay there, my body twitching and shaking.

"Is this all the Demon slayer has to offer? Is that truly it? Well then… I suppose this is it, Max Taylor. Well then… I can't believe how much anticipation was wasted here, I thought I could used my blade for this battle, but your just another- what the, how are you standing?" Seth's face turned from smug to shock in a millisecond as Rex rose to his feet, his arm dangling disgustingly at his side.

" Never count out the D-team, you bastard." His hand good hand began to glow a deep azure. I noticed a few things immediately. Rex was older… much older. His blond, blood streaked hair was still long, but shaved in. A light blond was neatly trimmed, and with a small ribbon of blood around it. He was probably taller than me, despite my rapid height growth. His face… it still held the innocence that Rex had always had, despite his hardships, yet it was hardened with death and experience. He was a man in his early thirties now, while I was still… wait… how old am I now? I'll have to find out if I survive.

A rush of blue aura was taken out of Seth's body with a satisfying riiiip. Seth screamed loudly as his energy was being torn away from him. Revenge is a bitch, ain't it buddy.

I knew exactly what Rex was doing. He had finally mastered the power of Aura. He was sapping away at Seth's power, but from how his injuries are, there was no way Rex could keep this up for long.

"Keep on taking, Rex, your almost there." I mumbled my words of encouragement hoping that Rex could hear them. As if on cue, the aura string was disconnected, and Rex flopped down onto one knee. Seth still stood, gasping for air like a dying fish. "Damn you!" He yelled. "how dare you take my power! Well… it doesn't matter, my demonic heart allows me to make energy endlessly, you can never stop me!" As an example, his energy flared up, unleashing purple aura.

Damn! I'm never going to be able to beat this guy. I could feel Rex's hand on my chest. "It's up to you now… Max." Rex breathed as shoved what he absorbed into my body. It felt as if I was a car that just got jumpstarted. The energy felt amazing.

"Enough of this! Tyranno, crush him!" The Black beast responded in the only way it knew how; by roaring so loudly that not even space could silence it. It raised its foot, and brought it down over Rex.

NO!

I appeared over Rex so fast, the wind couldn't even keep up. I raised one hand, and blocked the demon the ground pulverizing under me. The strange thing was, I felt no pain. I was holding up a Godzilla sized beast with my one hand, without breaking a sweat, this was unbelievable. I pushed it back, sending it staggering back. I jumped up, and kicked the beast's muzzle so hard, a shockwave echoed through the city. It was forced to spin around from the sheer force of it, and I grabbed one of its little hands and flipped the dinosaur onto its back making it land with a resounding crash.

As I fell from my midair position, the Black Tyranno opened its mouth, and unleashed a column of pure white hot flames. I poised my sword in a stabbing position and spread energy from the tip my sword outwards. As soon as the flames touched the blade, they dispersed, fizzling out from my own energy. I landed in the source of the intensity, its mouth. As soon as I landed in, I heard a roar of unbelievable pain before a loud Boom replaced it, and I was enveloped in a fiery hot light. I closed my eyes, yet I could still see it, as bright as the sun.

The light subsided, and there I stood, in a city of ruin, in a large crater, a sword in my hand, the Black Tyranno's tooth in my hand, and a smile on my face. The tooth was unbelievably large, almost as large as my sword; it felt hot in my hands.

Seth stood over my crater, absolutely shocked. "This can't be happening… He… he was supposed to… no…"

"Sometimes having other people or… things do your work for you won't do much good for you, eh?" I mocked. His face glowed with outrage.

"DAMN YOU! I'VE HAD IT WITH YOU, MAX TAYLOR!" He roared so loudly it rivaled his pet, the now dead tyranno. "ALWAYS DESTROYING EVEREYTHING I'VE WORKED FOR, WELL NO MORE!" He drew a long, black bladed sword from his belt. "It's over, boy." He voice became a savage whisper. You know, I've never seen Seth lose his cool before; it's honestly kind of funny.

And out battle began, I battling duel bladed, using the tooth as a weapon. As I've come to find out, the tooth can produce fire… pretty useful. Our battle began to go back and forth, the both of us trading blows with grace, and power. I fought like I've never fought before, mixing my flames with my demonic aura.

We wounded each other badly in our battle. I could feel the red hot pain of each up across my body, but I refused to stop. I couldn't stop now, not when I was so close. Of course, I had an idea. Seth, despite how good he was fighting was running only on rage, and his moves were becoming increasingly predictable.

I charged up all the energy into my left hand, making it crackle like electricity. I used blades to knock his sword away before tossing both of them, and shoving my hand back. Seth saw exactly was I was planning and was already putting his sword in a stabbing position. I should have known he'd pull something like this, but it's all or nothing now. As we came together, the aura in my hand had worked it's into his weapon, causing it to crack. My hand entered the bloody chest of Seth, making him stop as the cracked blade shattered against my chest…

The blade was finally gone…

I was Free!

I could feel Seth's heart beating strong despite my hand being over it.

"I can feel your heart Seth." I chuckled. "Ooh… weird… didn't know you had one!" I shouted as I yanked hard, ripping his heart out, and crushing it in my hands sending a spray of blood everywhere. Seth started blankly at me, he eyes having no soul to reflect on, as he dropped to the ground, finally dead.

It was over.

It was finally over!

My curse was lifted and now I'm free!

I was so happy I could have dance my way to china and back, and still had time to kick Seth's corpse around, but my body responded with a swift no as I lost all semblance of mind, and flopped down into the blood pool of Seth.

"Hey look, I think sleeping beauty is finally gonna wake up!" I could hear a familiar voice… it was Rex!

"And sleeping beauty will kick your ass if you don't stop annoying me…" I growled, trying to open my eyes to welcome the world. I finally opened them to be welcomed by a hospital room, with Zoe standing, puffy-eyed staring down at me.

We were all bandaged up, me being the most bandaged; Rex's arm was in a splint, probably fixed by the wonderful powers of Zoe Drake.

My attention instantly shot to Rex. "You. ." I said.

He laughed at my bluntness, and sat next to my bed. "Well, I arrived here to stop Seth, who I heard was gaining a large amount of power and was navigating the time stream… to think your alive… I can't believe it!" His face looked whimsical, nearly driven to tears as he looked down on me.

"Hey now, tough guy don't be getting soft on me… anyway look at you! You a man now!" I said.

"Yeah.. .and that's not all that's new." He raised his hand for me to see. On his bandaged hand, I saw a golden ring on his ring finger. I couldn't believe it, that lucky bastard.

"You married?" I gasped. "That's awesome! I-" My attention shifted instantly to Zoe, who was nearly on the verge of tears.

Rex remained silent. "I'll leave you alone for the time being…" He said as he walked out the door, slamming it shut behind him. I looked at Zoe, a glimmer of anger, and even sadness still in my eyes.

"I…"

"Don't, believe me, I know…" I said.

"But, I couldn't bear to watch again as you risked your life again to fight someone. I couldn't live with that kind of guilt, I'm sorry! I-"

I planted my lips softly over hers, stopping her from rambling. "Easy now… it's alright now. It's over, were safe now."

She sighed, still clearly tormented, and got up from her chair. She got up, and slumped down on the my bed, right next me. We were so close on that cramped bed, I could smell her strawberry scent.

"You know your sixteen today." She said with a smile on her face. Sixteen, huh? So that's how old I am. You can't really blame me for forgetting considering what I've been through. "So how about I give you a little gift." She kissed me, but not like normal. Her tongue entered my mouth and began to fight mine for dominance. It was something new, defiantly not something I was used to, but damn did it feel good.

She got on top of me, her red jacket already thrown across the room. A heavy blush was on her face as she pulled her head back for air.

"I guess my birthday this year's gonna be wild." I said, a lust-filled grin on my face.

"I guess it is!" She said.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

"Hey! Before you start screwing each other, can I come in and piss?" Rex's voice echoed from the hallway. Both of our heads turned to look at the door, the mood officially ruined.

I wanted to cry.

Did that… really just fucking happen?! My eye twitched.

Zoe got up and let him in; Rex was practically bobbing at the heels with glee at the death glare I was giving him. "Sorry man, I got needs to!"

"I will castrate you with this bedpan! No matter how long it'll take!" I screamed, ignoring my wounds, and chased Rex around carrying my duel weapons. Despite the conditions, they were both still laughing. I knew that Rod will be coming soon… I just have to wait. And love every damn minute of it.
