Did Rachel Berry ever think that she'd end up engaged at eighteen years old? There was just one answer for that. Absolutely not. Yet here she was, sitting on her bed, staring at the tiny diamond ring sparkling back at her.
Finn had proposed to her less than a week ago. It had taken her a couple days to think about it, but Rachel finally said yes. How could she not? Finn Hudson was her one true love- there was no denying that. It was scary to commit to something so huge like this, but she knew in her heart she made the right choice. And now she couldn't wait to marry Finn.
As Rachel toyed with the small, heart-shaped diamond, she began to think of her future. Before, her sights had always been set on Broadway. Yes, that was still her dream, but it was much more than that now. She used to think performing was her only love. Oh how that had changed over the years. Now she couldn't even imagine being anywhere without Finn.
Rachel then heard some noises downstairs. Figuring it was just one of her dads, she ignored it and continued her thoughts. Not long after that, she found herself drifting off to sleep…
Rachel softly awoke to the sound of her bedroom door creaking open. She adjusted her eyes to the darkness and saw a tall figure in the doorway. It wasn't very hard to decipher who it could be.
"Finn?" she said groggily.
"Sorry I scared you," Finn whispered as he made his way over to Rachel's bed.
"What are you doing here?" Rachel asked. "It's the middle of the night."
"I just wanted to see you." Finn gave his fiancé his signature half-smirk.
"You couldn't have waited until the morning?" Rachel asked, giggling.
"Do you want me to leave?"
"No way." Rachel pulled Finn down on her bed. "I'm glad you're here."
"This is what it's going to be like when we're married," Finn said, pausing to let out a sleepy yawn. "The two of us. Just like this."
"Can't wait," Rachel mumbled as she snuggled closer to him. "Love you."
"Love you too," Finn whispered back as he cupped her cheek. He leaned in and gave her a tender kiss on her lips.
Rachel smiled into the kiss. She would never ever get tired of this. As she drifted off into a peaceful sleep with Finn by her side, she thought about about how she couldn't wait to spend the rest of her life with him. She couldn't wait to see what the future would have in store for them. And she knew that as long as Finn was there with her, everything would be perfect.
I literally wrote this at like midnight because I was having major Finchel feels, and after rewatching Yes/No, I just had to write a short little drabble about it. Hopefully it made you smile. Cutesy Finchel drabbles always put me in a good mood :)
