I do not own RWBY...

Weiss had woken up and is roaming around the house to find a way to spend the day. She took notice on the activities others around her were partaking in. Yang was playing a video game with much focus, while Blake was playing the game along with her with seemingly little interest. And Qrow was in another room fast asleep in a chair with a heavy aroma of alcohol emitting from him.

When she woke up that morning, Weiss found a text message from Ruby telling her that she would be out in town with Winter for a while. The message ended with a kissy-face emoji. While Weiss never understood the appeal of using emojis, she always found it cute when Ruby used one. However that does not change the fact that she would never use one herself.

The only other person left around was Taiyang, and he was cleaning up the mess made from breakfast. They were already halfway through the second week of their vacation, and Weiss has hardly interacted with the guy. It is a shame really for Weiss not to get to know her girlfriend's father.

Weiss felt a tightness in her chest. The only time she really communicated with Taiyang was mostly during meals when everyone else was gathered around. Despite the man's kind demeanor, there was something unsettling about interacting with a girlfriend's parent alone. Well, there is an awkward feeling when just interacting with a regular friend's parents alone, so it is exponentially more awkward talking to a girlfriend's parent alone.

Shrugging off her nervousness, the heiress grabbed the left over plates from the dining table, clearing off their remains into the trash, and passed them over to Taiyang.

Taking the plate from Weiss, Taiyang said with a smile, "Thank you, Weiss."

"You're welcome, Mr. Xiao Long," replied Weiss as she grabbed a small towel.

Weiss helped Taiyang finish up by cleaning off the freshly washed dishes and silverware and stashing them away in their proper places. The two of them worked silently, which gave Weiss a sense of unease. She wished that one of them would say something to break the silence.

When they were finally done, Taiyang, drying off his hands, said, "Thanks for the help, Weiss. I really appreciate it."

Weiss placed the last of the silverware into a drawer. "You're welcome."

"So, um…" Taiyang scratched the back of his head. "I'm going to be going into town a little later." He lightly chuckled as he explained, "With seven mouths to feed, I need to stockpile enough food to last until the end of the week. As you can guess, I'm going to have my hands full. If you don't mind, would you like to come give me a hand, Weiss?"

"Sure." Weiss nodded. "I'd be happy to help, Mr. Xiao Long."

"Great!" Taiyang remarked with a smile, "I was hoping you'd say that."

Weiss raised an eyebrow and asked, "You were?"

He nodded. "Yeah. I was hoping we could get to know each other." He placed a hand on Weiss's shoulder. "I've been wanting to have a nice chat with my daughter's girlfriend."

"Oh…Good." Weiss smiled somewhat nervously as she concurred, "I was hoping to talk to you as well."

"Glad to hear it," he told her. "Let's get going in a little bit."

Weiss replied, "I'll be ready when you are."

Taiyang and Weiss had arrived at a small local grocery store located in town. As they entered, Weiss grabbed a shopping cart and Taiyang led them into the building. The man marched happily across the store while the heiress followed close behind him. The two of them made their way to the rear of the store and turned into an aisle.

Taiyang came to a stop, grabbed a couple of products off the shelf, examining their labels from the nutrition boxes to the list of ingredients. For a moment, he looked like he was deeply contemplating which one to buy.

"Mmm…" Taiyang tossed a product into the shopping cart while he placed the other back onto the shelf. He spoke somewhat hesitantly, "You know, Weiss, I've been meaning to thank you for a while now."

Weiss was taken aback by Taiyang's sudden comment. "Thank me?"

"Yeah…" Taiyang scratched the back of his head as he told the young Schnee, "I wanted to thank you for making Ruby so happy."

"You…" Weiss momentarily stuttered as she asked, "Y-you really think I'm making her happy?"

"Of course!" Taiyang smiled. "I honestly don't think I've ever seen her as happy as she is now when she's by your side."

Weiss smiled, brushed a little bit of hair out of her eyes, and said, "The same can be said for me. I never felt as happy as I do now when I'm by your daughter's side."

The two begin to move from one aisle to another, nearly crashing into another cart being pushed by a mother and her kid. After a quick exchange of pardons, Taiyang and Weiss entered the next aisle. Taiyang walked down, examining whether or not there was anything here that he needed to grab.

"So how did you two get together?" Taiyang asked curiously as he eyed the contents on a shelf.

"That's…um…" Weiss lightly bit her lips. "That's a bit of a long story."

Taiyang shrugged his shoulders. "We got plenty of time," he noted.

"Ok."

Weiss told her tale to Taiyang as they continued shopping, starting with how they first met at Beacon. The part where Ruby blew a crater on the cliffside made Taiyang laugh, and Weiss chuckled fondly at the memory. She continued along with her story, from when they became partners to when she discovered that Ruby had a crush on her.

"She was in tears because she thought I would never love her back," Weiss explained. "Even though I wasn't aware of my feelings for her at the time, I couldn't stand to see her cry like that. That's when I said that I would try dating her."

Taiyang surmised, "And after a few weeks, you've come to realize you had feelings for her and fully committed to the relationship?"

Weiss stopped in her tracks, her grip tightening on the handle of the cart. Taiyang looked at Weiss with surprise. "I wish it had been that easy."

With a slight hesitation, Taiyang inquired, "What happened?"

"I…" Weiss let her head drop as she confessed, "I broke up with her after a couple of weeks."

"You did?" Taiyang asked, the enthusiasm he had is now absent from his voice. That came as quite a shock to Weiss. She has not yet heard the man speak without enthusiasm.

He flatly asked, "Why?"

"I…At the time, I knew Ruby really liked me, but I didn't think I liked her the same way." Weiss looked Taiyang in the eyes. "I broke up with her because I believed I would have been stringing her along otherwise. When I did…I tried to make the breakup as painless as possible."

"You did, huh?" He asked. Weiss nodded in response. "How did Ruby take it?"

Weiss sighed, hating to recall that memory again. She lowered her head as she responded, "She ran away. She was heartbroken and became depressed." She took a look at Taiyang. The man appeared saddened from knowing his little girl's heart was broken. "I'm surprised that you didn't know."

Taiyang shook his head. "She never told me." He sighed and led Weiss to the next aisle over. His stride now with a more somber feel to it. "I wish she had told me. I would have liked to have been there for her."

Before even looking at the goods in the new aisle, he asked, "So what happened after that?"

Weiss told Taiyang the rest of the story. How Ruby took refuge with JNPR. How Ruby gradually got better when she was away while she herself became more depressed by Ruby's absence. And finally, how she and Ruby got back together during the night of the dance.

"So you both had a hard time following that breakup," said Taiyang.

Weiss replayed that dreadful scene of breaking up with Ruby in her head. Her heart ached from the memory. "Breaking her heart like that is one of my biggest regrets. Ruby told me she has forgiven me, and she asked me not to let it get to me." She took a deep breath. "However, I would give anything I had if it would mean I could rewind time to keep her from feeling that heartbreak."

Taiyang smiled, seeing the sincerity and regret in Weiss's eyes. "You really do love her, don't you?"

Weiss nodded. "I do. She means the world to me, and I'll do everything I can to keep her happy and smiling."

Taiyang patted Weiss on the head. "You're a good girl, Weiss. I'm glad my daughter found someone like you that she'd like to share her life with."

Weiss blushed. "Thank you, Sir."

The two of them moved along, gathering more supplies. As they walked and shopped, they swapped stories, most of which involved some time they spent with Ruby. Many of Weiss's stories made Taiyang laugh, and on the other hand, Taiyang's stories made Weiss feel like chiding her girlfriend.

After Weiss remarked about Ruby's irresponsibility in a story Taiyang told her, the man said, "It seems like you have a bit of a stern side too, Weiss."

Weiss nodded. "I do. Not as much as when I first met Ruby. I have learned to simply kick back and have fun since I started dating Ruby, but I still need to draw the line somewhere. I make sure she gets her studying and school work done, and I need to keep her in line so she doesn't accidentally hurt herself."

Taiyang released a hearty laugh as he placed another item in the shopping cart. "It makes me feel so much better knowing my daughter is in safe hands."

Not much longer later, Taiyang determined that they got everything that they needed. They paid for the groceries, bagged them, and left the store.

As they walked down the streets of Patch, Weiss kept glancing at Taiyang. The man had such a sincere smile. He possessed such a kind personality. And to top it all, he cared about his daughters' happiness. Thinking back to her childhood, Weiss could hardly believe that there were fathers this nice in the world.

Taiyang noticed Weiss's glances at him, and he asked, "What's on your mind, Weiss?"

Weiss replied, "It's just…you're such a good father. You're always very considerate of your daughters' feelings. Also…" Thoughts about her own father invaded her mind. "I am grateful that you've been accepting of Ruby dating another girl. After all, some people still frown upon same-sex relationships."

"Weiss, as you just mentioned, the most important thing to me is my daughters' happiness." He stopped for a moment, thinking carefully about what his next words will be. "Now I will admit that same-sex relationships isn't something I've normally given much thought about, but you make Ruby happy, so I'll support your relationship all the way."

Weiss smiled. "You truly are a good father. My father would never have supported our relationship."

Taiyang looked up as he recalled a memory. "Mr. Schnee, eh? I read about how he jumped off of the top of the SDC Skyscraper. I've heard some rotten things about him." He looked at Weiss, a tightness building up in his chest. "I…I really hate to ask this…but was he a terrible father to you and your sister?"

Weiss shuddered as she thought about her father. She remembered the stern, forever angry face of his. If he smiled, it was more like an evil grin than a genuine smile. His voice always carried a chilly, harsh tone with it. She even recalled a few times where the man got physically abusive by slapping her.

She answered, "He was a horrible father. If he was alive now, I'm certain he would try to break up my relationship with Ruby."

Weiss sighed. "To be honest, I'm a little envious of Ruby. She got to have a father like you." Taiyang remained silent as he let Weiss finish speaking. The girl had a longing look in her eyes. "I would have done anything if it meant my father could've been half the man you are."

Taiyang studied Weiss closely. He has not even known the girl for two weeks yet, but he has seen how much happiness she gives Ruby. He understands how much she means to his daughter. When he thinks about all the things Weiss has done to make Ruby happy, he feels a lot of respect and admiration towards the young Schnee.

He moved all of the bags from one of his hands to the other, and wrapped his now free hand around Weiss. "Tell you what," he said, "If you want, you can call me 'Father.'"

Weiss stared at the man in disbelief. "Really?"

"Or 'Dad,' or whatever else you'd prefer," He added with a smile. "You intend to spend your life with Ruby don't you. That means one day I'll be your father-in-law, so it only seems natural." Weiss froze in place. "If you ever have any troubles, feel free to come see me. I'll be the good father-figure you never had."

At that moment Taiyang noticed that Weiss had stopped walking.

He turned around and asked with slight concern, "Are you alright, Weiss?" He was partially afraid he might have said something out of line.

A look into Weiss's eyes revealed she was off in her own little world as many thoughts ran through her mind. One day, RWBY will graduate from Beacon. She and Ruby will go off into the world as adults. And sometime after that, the two of them would surely marry each other.

Weiss's face turned into an expression of absolute bliss. "I'm perfectly fine," she answered. The heiress heart was beating incredibly fast, and she was experiencing a warm and fuzzy sensation. She brought her hand up to her heart. "I was just thinking of something very nice is all."

Taiyang and Weiss returned home. Qrow, who was holding an icepack to his head, was complaining about being left alone with Yang; he had no qualms about Blake. Blake had managed to slip away from Yang so she could read her book. Meanwhile Yang was raging at a video game that seems to have been designed to enrage players. A quick glance a

t the TV screen, Weiss saw the words "You Died" fading into view.

Not long after Weiss and Taiyang returned, Ruby and Winter returned as well. Ruby happily hugged Weiss, squeezing her girlfriend tight. Ruby's arms might look small but she is quite strong considering she is able to swing that scythe a lot. Weiss had to ask Ruby to release her so she could breathe.

Weiss looked into Ruby's eyes. The girl's silver orbs are more beautiful and cuter than anything Weiss has ever seen. She could just stare into them forever.

The staring did not go unnoticed by Ruby. The younger girl started to blush slightly. "W-Weiss," Ruby squeaked out. "Staring into my eyes like that…you're making me blush…"

The older girl giggled. "I can't help it Ruby. You're eyes are so beautiful."

Ruby's mouth formed a dorky smile. "T-thank you, Weiss."

"You're welcome, Ruby." Weiss took Ruby's hand into her own, pulling her close. She asked, "So how has your day been so far?"

Ruby answered with a small bounce, "It's been really good. I had fun hanging out with your sister." She gave a quick wave to Winter who returned the gesture. "How about you?"

"Yeah, I've had a good day too. I went grocery shopping with your dad," Weiss responded as she motioned her head towards Ruby's father.

Ruby raised a brow curiously. "Oh yeah?"

Weiss nodded. "Yeah. We had a good long chat, and we got to know each other."

Taiyang walked up and placed an hand on both girls' shoulders. He said, "That we did. I must say, Weiss is a good girl. It makes me happy that you two found each other."

Both girls blushed.

Ruby said, "I'm glad you two spent some time together. It's great to see you two getting along."

Suddenly Yang shouted out, "GODDAMNIT!"

The blonde's outburst startled everyone in the room. The girl just died again in her video game. Her eyes have changed from her normal cool lilac to burning red, and her grip on the controller tightened so much that it is almost enough to shatter the contraption.

Ruby left the group and sat down on the couch next to Yang. Ruby teased her sister for always having difficulties defeating that particular boss in the game. Yang, unamused by her younger sister's teasing, shoved the controller into Ruby's hand and dared her to beat the boss. Ruby accepted the challenge with a conceit-filled grin.

Taiyang said quietly to Weiss, "Take good care of my lil' girl, Weiss."

Weiss said, "Of course."

Taiyang gave Weiss a quick pat on the back and left to put the remaining groceries.

For a moment, Weiss watched Ruby play the video game in Yang's stead. The younger sister seems to be doing exceptionally well fighting the enemy on the game, and the older sister was not looking too pleased. Ruby bragged about how easy it is. Yang muttered an obscene curse quietly enough that no one heard it.

Weiss looked over at Winter sitting at the dining table with a cup of tea. She happily went and took a seat next to her older sister.

The younger Schnee asked, "So how was your morning with Ruby?"

After a quick sip of tea, Winter said, "It was quite enjoyable. We just walked across town and talked for a while."

Ruby released a pitiful squeal, followed by laughter from Yang. The Schnee sisters looked at the rambunctious sisters. Yang was saying that she was feeling a bit better, and Ruby was swearing vengeance. Weiss could not hold back a laugh.

Weiss tilted her head as she asked her sister, "So um…what did you two talk about?"

Winter glanced at Weiss. "Oh, nothing in particular."

A/N: I would like to start off by saying that I have gotten some really positive reviews since my last update, especially in the past couple of months. I would like to thank you all for those kind words. It really makes me happy knowing other people enjoys my stories.

Secondly, one of the most recent review as of this chapter's posting mentioned it wouldn't make since if Blake and Yang became a couple when I made I heavily implied that Blake and Sun were a couple in the beginning. I do have to agree with them on that. However I would just like to reiterate something I believe that I have mentioned before, and that is that White Rose will be the only ship in this story.

Also, I already have an intended ending in mind for this story, and I will make sure that story reaches that ending. Even if I disappear for a while, which I hope that I won't do again, I will continue to come back and update this story until it's finished. I do hope to update this story on a more regular basis.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Reviews and constructive criticisms are always appreciated.
