Emerald Twilight

Disclaimer: I do not own any of the official characters from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Lauren Faust is the person who created this generation of ponies. J.K. Rowling is the owner of the entire Harry Potter franchise. I do not own anything that is mentioned as a crossover cameo from anime, manga, video games, music, TV shows, movies, or otherwise.

I do not own the OC Jade Shine; she belongs to Whatsapokemon who runs the ask-jade-shine tumblr blog. I only have ownership of my pony OC named Black Crystal Wisher. And all I also own is this crazy idea to ponify Harry Potter and dump his flank into Equestria to be raised as the age-identical sibling of Twilight Sparkle... :P

Jade Shine and Black Crystal Wisher

It's been a month since Emerald and Twilight moved to Ponyville. Whereas Twilight had her close group of friends, Emerald was also meeting and befriending many ponies in Ponyville outside the internet for once. One of them was an admittedly cute mare who goes by the name Jade Shine. She was a Pegasus pony with a grey coat (or was it greenish grey?) with azure-blue hair and short tail and wears a type of modified lion-brown tool jacket on her back that tend to keep her wings secured. Her cutie mark was a screw driver crossing over tweezers.

She was a repair pony when it comes to things that need a soft touch of repairs no matter how complex. So, if you got something that needs to be fixed or repaired, she was the pony to go to. Emerald met Jade when a pony in town pointed him to her shop when his TV broke down. They made small talk and somehow by the end of that week his TV was fully repaired, he and Jade have struck up a cordial friendship.

"Jade? You home?" came Emerald's voice drifting into the room as he knocked on the opening door.

Emerald found it a bit humorous that he found a friend who was also named after a gemstone color.

"I'm in the back. Busy with a repair."

Emerald trots into the back where he enters her back room. There were papers scattered detailing order repairs and all that rot. She was tinkering with an old-model TV.

"So, busy as usual Jade," Emerald greeted his friend.

She offers a warm smile in greeting to Emerald Lightning. "Yeah. This belongs to Granny Smith. Your friend Applejack brought it over yesterday asking for another fix-up. They should get a new TV; this one's antique. Not as complicated with modern TVs, but the parts are hard to find in this day and age. Luckily I had a few spare parts so the repair won't take so long."

Emerald chuckled. "But Granny Smith loves her classics."

Jade laughs softly. "Yes she does. So Emerald what are you doing here today, huh? I hope nothing of yours broke."

"Oh no, I need no repairs for any of my electronics. They're all still in good condition since I take care of my things. Just wanted to get out of the library today..."

"Don't tell me..."

"Eeyup," Emerald quotes Big Mac's linear but well-known quote, "Ever since Spike started watching that reality TV program Manehattan Shore..."

Jade shakes her head. "What about your sis?"

"Yeah, Twilight's busy as usual. Then again I am too, but at least I take breaks now and then. I guess that's what makes Twi and me different when it comes to magic studies."

Jade finished with the re-wiring before setting her tools down.

"I wonder who else in Ponyville would watch Manehattan Shore," Jade comments on the TV show.

Not in Ponyville, but somewhere in Manehattan itself was a filly named Babs Seed. Yes, she's watching the reality show as well on her TV.

"Well Jade... I was wondering... other than fixing Granny's TV, got anything else to do today?"

She looks up again.

"Well... let me finish this and we can hang out. I can use some fresh air," Jade tells Emerald.

"Cool. Applejack's busy spending time with her family. Of course, she's resting after that whole Apple Harvesting season she was talking about."

Jade recalled that particular chaotic two weeks when it started after Applejack saved the town from a stampede of frightened cows. The reward ceremony for her at Ponyville's Town Hall she walked up, exhausted as hell and two baskets on her sides filled with apples. Of course, it was Twilight who investigated first what was going on after she left with the gold trophy.

"Applejack is a cool gal and all but her pride can be like an unmovable object at times."

Emerald nodded. "But my sis was determined to help AJ, even after causing half of Ponyville to be hospitalized from Dragon Muffins," Those would be the "bad muffins" Spike fished from the trash after that little adventure, "almost injuring Rainbow Dash after a stunt gone wrong, and terrorizing a bushel of cute innocent baby bunnies into stampeding the town and devouring the flowers and crops in Ponyville."

"It took only one view of half the farm trees still ripe with unplucked apples to realize she was way over her head and pleaded for help."

Emerald nodded. "And we did help her in the end."

"Eeyup..."

It took some time but Jade finished with her job fixing up Granny Smith's TV. Afterword, the two friends left the shop and head to Emerald's favorite outdoor café to enjoy lunch. They sat at an outdoor booth, enjoying daffodil sandwiches with a side of half pickles and drinking some imported green tea from Japon, when their lunch was interrupted.

"Emerald Lightning? You have a letter from Canterlot," a mail pony announced, floating over. Emerald accepted it with a smile and a thanks as the gray and blue-maned pegasus flew off to deliver a parcel.

"Who is it from?" asks Jade.

"It's from my friend Black Crystal Wisher." The green-eyed stallion would recognize his friend's hoof-writing with his artistic insignia that resembled his cutie mark by his name.

Jade blinked. "Oh... I know him from a web forum I visit now and then on my off days. His name is such a mouthful."

Emerald chuckles in amusement. Yes, Emerald's friend's name would get that sort of attention. "Yeah, it is. Everypony calls him Black for short, even his parents. Although, he IS a bit of a pretty boy-type..."

"And?"

"Oh right, the letter." He rips the letter open and with his magic levitates the parchment out, his eyes scanning over the words quickly. "Well, Black's coming to Ponyville." A smile crosses his lips.

"Oh? I'd like to meet him. When will he arrive?"

"He'll be here tomorrow during the lunch hour. I'll be meeting him at the train station. Would you like to be there when he arrives, Jade?"

"We'll see if my work doesn't keep me holed up at the house, Emerald," Jade tells Emerald with a smile.

"Cool."

The rest of their lunch was spent enjoying the food and drink and just talking about mainstream topics going on in Ponyville. They parted company from here, Jade returning back to her shop, and Emerald deciding to see some of his friends.

"I wonder what everypony is up to today. Pinkie Pie is likely busy at the Sugarcube Corner, and sis is in her book world again." He waves politely to passing ponies.

"Emerald!"

Emerald stops and turns to the voice, and grins. Lyra trots up to him.

"Hello Lyra!"

"So, how are you enjoying this place?" she questions the green-eyed stallion.

"Very well. And you? You moved here from Canterlot as well to be with your friend Bonbon."

Lyra smiled. "Yeah. Well I've been planning to move out of Canterlot for awhile. When you and Twilight left Canterlot two months ago, I decided to follow you guys."

"Where's Bonbon?"

"At home," she answered.

The two walk side by side down the street.

"Twilight is likely in her books again, right?"

"Yeah and I should be sitting next to her doing the same, but I can always catch up. I never fail a test after all."

Lyra smirked.

"You and Twilight were always more interested in studying and reading than making lots of friends back at the academy. Although you were a bit more open than Twilight was, uh, no offense."

"None taken," he says. "The friends I only had come from online ponies on website forums on the internet. But I like to believe that Twilight and I have opened up a lot since meeting five friends who accepted us easily and with smiles on their faces."

"Much better than lurking Ponychan," Lyra elbows the stallion.

Lyra knew Emerald's online persona name and his e-mail. Yes, e-mail exists, although the mail carrier service is still strong in Equestria; e-mail was mostly used for long-distance things or business. And yes, she (Lyra) also lurked Ponychan herself...

"Lyra!" Emerald hissed, trying to shut her up as the mare laughs at Emerald's blush that broke out.

"Black and I were friends back in Canterlot but we didn't hang out much since I was mostly with my sis studying for the princess and everything. Well, unless you exclude internet interaction. But ever since we moved here to Ponyville... we've opened up a lot."

It's the next day.

Emerald Lightning and Jade Shine were at the Ponyville Train Station, waiting for the next train scheduled to stop by. Emerald earlier that morning had entertained Applebloom while taking her to school for Applejack. He made her promise not to tell Applejack he bought her two cupcakes at Sugarcube Corner (of course the cute filly promised with that wide innocent smile on her face and the cuteness look in the eyes). After that, he helped Rarity when she was returning from a gem hunt. The rest of that morning was spent waiting for Jade to stop by at the station to wait with him for the train that had his traveling friend.

"How long until the train arrives...?"

Emerald looks to the nearby hanging clock. "Hm... judging by the clock, it should be here in five minutes."

It was cloudy today, but there was no scheduled rainfall. Which was a good thing; neither brought an umbrella or have rain coats. Five minutes later, the train blows its whistle as it finally stops at the boarding dock and the doors open, letting out those who wanted to visit Ponyville. And Emerald's grin widen as he finally spots his friend.

"There he is, Jade," he says, pointing a hoof in the direction of his friend, Black Crystal Wisher.

Jade blinked. "Wow... you weren't kidding when you said he was pretty for his own good."

Emerald chuckles a bit. "Yeah, you wouldn't believe how often I find myself staring at him..."

Black Crystal Wisher's mane was as dark as the vast backdrop of our galaxy, in long feminine-like locks. It was more ahoge than Emerald's mane. His coat was a tan color and he has a short black tail. The term bishonen would fit perfectly for Black Crystal Wisher as he steps off the train, levitating his suitcase using his magic. Yes, he is a unicorn. His cutie mark is a strange one even by normal pony standards, as well as a mystery. A gold ring with a black backdrop within the ring, a small red curved S-like insignia, and a white slash marking at a ninety degree angle from top right running down to bottom left. His obsidian black eyes twinkle almost in happiness seeing his dearest friend Emerald Lightning.

"Emerald!"

And Jade Shine was witness to Black's tackle-glomp of Emerald Lightning.

"Hello, Black," Emerald spoke out whilst being squeezed in the glomp by his happy friend. "How've you been lately? Tell me you haven't corrupt more colts into looking up clop like our friend Starblazer."

"He did what?" Jade shouted.

Emerald sighed. "Yeah, he tricked one of our other internet friends when we were growing up to look up clop on the internet."

Black chuckled. "Yeah well, it was pretty funny."

Jade stared as Black helps his friend off the ground.

"Really? And how old was your friend?"

"Twelve. Puberty struck him at the most inappropriate time," said Black, re-levitating his suitcase and they head for the exit.

"Dood... he now fantasizes about his Aunt Lily," Emerald deadpans.

"Okay, I would like a change of topic, please," Jade requested.

"Yeah, no need to discuss clop in public," Emerald mutters. There were some young ones loitering as they all left the train station.

"So, still a study bug like your sister Twilight, Em?"

"Well as the personal protégés of Princess Celestia, we're always often busy with magical theory and studies on whatever she likes to test us on," Emerald told Black.

"You still do your cosplay when you're not busy?"

"Duh," Emerald answers.

"Explains why you're wearing your Assassin Hoodie."

Yes, Emerald had pulled the hood up of the white hoodie he's wearing, with its designed beak-shaped tip. Glancing to his friend, Emerald then asks, "So other than wanting to visit me, what's your reason for leaving Canterlot?"

"Too many snobs... That and Prince Blueblood pissed me off the other day."

Emerald frowned. He had once met the regal unicorn in the castle. The pony just rubs Emerald off in a wrong way because the guy was often too demanding for things and didn't like to associate himself with "the commoners". He questioned why Princess Celestia was even related to the guy...

"Yeah, he pissed me off, so in retaliation I stomped down on some sidewalk ditch water right into his face and bolted as he sputtered and cursed the air blue."

"That guy has the power to get you arrested."

"Maybe, but I wasn't picked up yet. Even if I was, I can just say I wasn't looking where I was going. Easy as that." Black stuck out his tongue at Emerald.

"I feel sorry for the mares that crush on him then find out he's a total douche bag," Emerald says aloud.

Rarity sneezed back in her inspiration room.

"So Black, Jade, how did you two meet online?" Emerald asks his friends.

"I was searching up random stuff," Black answers.

"Visiting favorite chat forums," was Jade's reply.

Black pulls out something from his suitcase and puts on his bucket hat. "So, mind showing me around Ponyville, Em?"

"Sure thing, dood. Come, I'll introduce you to one of the craziest pony in Ponyville... and by crazy, I mean party-tastic."

Even Black Crystal Wisher would be unprepared to meet the pony we all know as Pinkie Pie. As soon as Black went through the doors of the Sugarcube Corner, Pinkie Pie looks up from the counter, gasps in a dramatic manner, and then fires off her patented Party Cannon to celebrate Black's "Welcome to Ponyville" party. It is general knowledge that when Pinkie Pie throws a party, many ponies in the town will flock around and enjoy the music, the fun, and the food and drink. In less than ten minutes, Sugarcube Corner was packed with ponies visiting. And his sister was out of the house and crowding with her friends enjoying the party.

"Black, you already know my sister here. You got a face to picture now." He magicks a book she was reading away from her which earned him a brief glare, before she smiles to Black Crystal Wisher.

"Nice to meet you at last, Black."

"Likewise." He took a gander upon the title. "The Life and Times of Sirius?"

She blushed. "It's an interesting story about the pony named after the Dog Star."

"I got Twilight that book on her birthday two years ago," Emerald whispers to Black. Voice going to normal volume, Emerald continues to introduce his friends. "The pony over there is Rarity. She's a fashionista and sometimes helps me if I need the use of her sewing machines and critical eye."

"Welcome to Ponyville, darling," she welcomes Black.

"That's Applejack with the Stenson hat."

"Howdy!" Applejack greets Black with a wave.

"She works at Sweet Apple Acers, the farm her family owns here in Ponyville. You already met Pinkie Pie."

Said mare when her name was mentioned pops over in a blur, setting down a plate of various frosted cookies. They look so delicious...

"Yes I have," Black says, reminded of the party streamers he was blasted with and confetti.

"Hope you're enjoying the party, Black Crystal Wisher," she exclaims with a giggle and a big friendly hug, before hurrying off to take out the next batch of cupcakes from the oven.

"This is Rainbow Dash, our resident Weather Pony. She also enjoys pranks now and then, and is a daredevil of stunts."

"Don't forget I'm the fastest flier ever," Rainbow Dash says with a grin.

"And this is Fluttershy. She's someone with one of the gentlest of souls in all of Ponyville."

Fluttershy squeaked a bit in a shy manner.

Black gave Fluttershy a wink. "She's cute."

And her blush increased by a margin, stirring amusement among the other girls. Emerald elbows Black in the side.

"Now, now, Black, no obvious flirts here. We don't want Fluttershy to have ponies pass out from her cuteness overload."

Now there were more giggles, and even Fluttershy let out a soft chuckle. Sometimes, Fluttershy was too cute for her own good. It's a good thing though. You just want to hug Fluttershy and never let go...

As the party went on, Black mingled with some ponies, before spying Jade off in the corner sipping some fruit punch. He walks and stands next to her, taking a cupcake and eating it in one go.

"So Black..."

Swallowing, he responds, "Yes, Jade?"

She glances at Emerald. "What IS Emerald like as a friend?"

"When he's not firmly stuck in his studies, he's very energetic and often you'll find him in a costume inspired from a video game or from an anime."

They sip their drinks. The atmosphere was full of joy and warmth.

"Wanna leave early, Jade?" asks Black.

Jade nodded. She loved parties, no doubt about it. But she had some things to do, and a pony to get more in touch with now they weren't separated by online forum interaction. "Sure, Black. Let's go. I can show you the place where I work for a living."

The two slipped away from the party Pinkie was hosting just for Black's arrival to Ponyville. The following morning since Black Crystal Wisher's arrival to Ponyville, Emerald decided to stop by at Jade's shop and Applejack was with him to pick up Granny Smith's TV. Emerald had a feeling mingling at the back of his head that Black and Jade were hitting it off real friendly-like as the two vanished from the party yesterday.

"So, his full name is Black Crystal Wisher?"

"Yeah. As I told you girls at the party yesterday, he's a friend of mine from back in Canterlot when Twilight and I were still in school. Although, I never talked to him much outside video games... he was really one of my few friends in Canterlot Academy..."

"So until you and Twilight met and befriended us in Ponyville, you didn't have many friends?"

"That and we were more into studying and making the princess proud of our knowledge of magical study... when she ordered us to make some friends when we arrived for the Summer Sun Celebration..."

"Ah understand, Sugarcube. But you and Twi have learned that havin' friends is stronger than any magic."

Emerald smiles, remembering that day leading to Nightmare Moon's return, and then how all of them survived the trials, and learning what friendship truly was. "Yes, it is, Applejack."

"Well, we're here." Applejack glanced at the customized wood post that hangs on the right side of the door, next to the mail slot. Emerald found the new shop sign to be artistically nice. Made of a richly red pine with a high gloss finish and a leaf decorative bordering highlighted with red and green paints, and rich black and gold-lined letterings were crafted with a High Hoofington script detailing the shop name (or to us humans printed with the Bernard MT Condensed font).

"Huh, she finally replaced her old house sign. Looks like it was crafted from Hästsverige..."

"Hope she's awake," said Applejack.

"Don't worry. Jade and I are good friends so I have a spare key to the home."

"Uh, Emerald, are you sure about this?"

Emerald smiles calmly towards his friend. "Do not trouble yourself. Jade trusts me. If she's still asleep I can leave a note and I'll help her get the payment fees for the repair costs later. If she's awake, then it's early morning business with a cup of tea."

"Well, if you are sure, Emerald. I trust you," Applejack relents.

Emerald grins and magicks a key from his pocket of the hoodie he chose to wear today, and unlocks the door. He invites himself and AJ into the house. The front was empty, as usual (since the shop wasn't officially open yet).

"Hmm, I wonder if they're really awake." He trots around the counter, with Applejack following. They hear some noise in the back. Jade is indeed awake. He brings a hoof up and pushes the door open. "Jade, is Black here? And Applejack is also here for-"

The moment Emerald and Applejack walk through the door leading to the workshop, the two froze and their eyes widen as they take in the sight that greeted the two now-silent ponies. The aforementioned ponies were on the floor of the shop, having parted from their heated blush-filled snog, a small strand of saliva between their wet lips. Amber yellow and black eyes stare at emerald and sap green eyes.

"Uhh... Good morning?" Jade and Black greeted with nervous smiles.

Insert the Seinfeld theme here.

Jade Shine, once more, is an OC pony from a Tumblr blog (ask-jade-shine dot tumblr dot com) that I follow. She is an interesting original character. Now given that I have further permission to use Jade Shine as a character in likely future chapters, we may see more of her interacting with Emerald Lightning and my OC pony named Black Crystal Wisher. I have had so much trouble writing lately but I got this chapter done. I've also been very busy with my real world life, not to mention constant distraction from enjoying new anime, video games, My Little Pony's season 4 starting, and playing Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy IX.

Originally, the ending was a clop scene with Jade Shine and Black Crystal Wisher being walked in on by Applejack and Emerald Lightning. But to keep this story in the safe rating, switched it out with a kissing scene... and I couldn't write good clop without being spied upon by those who won't understand (i.e. friends). The ending scene is also parody of the scene with Meg's boyfriend and Lois kissing and subsequently getting caught from Family Guy. But I finished this! Damn I am such a procrastinator when I'm distracted by outside sources...
