"I should go now," I said before Cade had another chance to take a jab at me, even though I knew he would be all over me on my way out.
I was right. He snickered a string of supposed insults that could be considered inappropriate for small children.
Eventually, I did make it out. And I made out alive, which I'm slightly surprised at.
"What happened?!" she shrieked in a panicky voice.
"Um, do you remember when you said you'd decapitate me if I was a demon?" I gulped. My heart pounded unnecessarily loud.
"Yeah, I do. And I said if you were possessed then I would. Besides, how's that even relevant?" she canvassed aggressively. "Wait, why are you in you're suit? Where were you storing it and how'd you change so fast?"
"Well," I said, drawing out the syllable. "It's completely relevant."
"What's that-" I cut her off.
"Supposed to mean? Yeah, I get it. You're going to have a really hard time believing it, though."
"Try me."
"Okay, I'm a demon with magical powers that include changing my clothes with the snap of my fingers and everyone else in there is a demon too, all with different powers and abilities and I'm not sixteen, I'm actually one hundred and fifty three." There's no way she'd buy all of this if I said it like this. Trust me. I know how people think.
"Stop kidding around, Bill. I want to know what's going on with you right now. Demons aren't real, and neither is magic!"
"I told you you'd have a hard time believing it," I sighed.
"How do expect me to believe that bull story of yours then?"
I snapped. Instantly, I was back in casual dress.
Her eyes widened. "So it's true?" she asked, unbelieving, to which I nodded. She shook off her stuporous state of alarm. "If you're only power is to change outfits, doesn't that make you kind of lame?" she smiled humorously.
"Ha! The Cipher family is the most powerful of all demons, that only the necromantic Balsamos dare to defy!" I laughed.
"Right. How do I know you're not just a really good magician?" she tried.
"Who said I wasn't?" I shot back.
She laughed for a little bit before adopting a more serious tone. "So what does it mean?"
"You're parents won't find out. I promise," I sighed.
"How'd you know that's what I was gonna- oh, yeah, right..." She looked up at me. "But they always seem to know when I'm lying!"
"Not if I can help it," I smirked, stretching my arms over my head.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Well, one of my abilities is to enter or manipulate people's minds, which is how I got you to leave back there. I figure I could do something similar on your parents to make 'em believe you."
She thought about it for a while. "It better work. And why did you not want me to go in there so bad?"
"Most demons tend to look down on humans, which is why we spend most of our time away from them. Don't take this the wrong way, but for the most part you're considered an inferior species, so being accompanied by one would not exactly help my situation," I explained.
"Was there any right way to take that?" she asked, sounding slightly annoyed. "And there's a little more to it. What do you mean by 'situation'?"
"No, it's-" I paused. "It's nothing."
"Yeah it is. You can tell me. It's OK."
"If you really want to know, then here. So since my family was really powerful and all that, my ancestors felt the need to be more sophisticated and distinguished or something than everyone else. So when Gravity Falls was first being founded either my parents or my grandparents put up a house over at the edge of town; to stay away from both humans and demons alike. But they were here since the beginning of the line, they just started taking human form once people started moving in. But that's not important. What is is that while most everyone in there is at least slightly afraid of me, they mostly just look down on me or are jealous."
"Why would they be jealous? I mean, you get a big old house all to yourself and they live in a crowded, smelly bar, but they seem pretty content like that, right? So why?"
"You know how I look about sixteen, even though this is my fourth consecutive year in eleventh grade?"
"Really? You repeated the Junior year four times?! I thought you were just a grade older than me and got held back once!"
I shook my head. "I reapplied for Junior year four times. That year was my last for a while. If I went off to college somewhere I could be drained of my demonic energy or die. Demons can only live in Gravity Falls, because there's this source of power underground that we'd all die without."
"So I won't see you in school then next year?" she asked sadly.
"No. But I thought we were talking about jealousy," I said, to which she nodded. "Anyways, there's a point where a demon stops physically maturing. Mine was sixteen. That age is when your powers are at their maximum potential. So it's like if you were to stay 21 or so forever. But the thing is, the younger your age is, the stronger you tend to be. I dunno. It's weird. But I have the youngest looking human form from basically ever, and therefore I'm the strongest, or at least I should be. I think my parents were in their twenties or early thirties."
"So how old did you say you were?"
"One hundred and fifty three!" I said, grinning.
She laughed, throwing back her head. "No way!"
I nodded. "And everyone in there," I started, gesturing towards the bar, "is at least a century older than me."
"You're making this up," she smiled.
I flicked my wrist, igniting a blue flame in the palm of my hand.
"Fine."
I stuck my fiery hand out. "This does not reach anyone, deal?"
"Deal," she agreed, shaking my hand. I extinguished it and released her hand. "Wow, that didn't even hurt," she realized. "Or did you alter my mind or whatever so that I couldn't feel it?"
"You can't prove anything," I retorted.
She laughed, then paused. "Wait a minute. Did I just make a deal with the devil?"
"More or less, yeah."
"I can never tell when you're being serious or sarcastic."
"Neither can I," I smirked.
"We should probably head back now. My parents will probably be wondering why we're taking so long."
"If only I could distort time..." I sighed wistfully. "Oh right, I can!"
"No way," she said skeptically.
"Yes way," I said, walking off towards the vague area of her house.
"Wrong way, Bill," she mumbled from behind. My 'I knew that' was cut short by a 'No you didn't!' from Alli as I turned around to trek in the correct direction.
As I walked through the town, I realized that it felt good to finally tell someone the truth.
A/N: Sorry this took so long, but life happens. I had to miss the premiere of all. three. new. episodes. Yeah. That was fun. But Into the Bunker is definitely my new favorite episode. And Pacifica and Mabel were like Weiss and Ruby from RWBY in Golf War! I'm sorry, but they were :3 Anywho, all of y'alls should check out Maze runner forever's GF fic. It's not up yet, but it should be soon. I'm making her write it on a challenge, because I annoy her with Gravity Falls, so in return I have to write Rise of the Gaurdians. That shoud be interesting. So that's life. Bye.
