Not Afraid
It tore her apart.
As much as she tried to suppress her emotions like Nine seemed to have done over time, she was torn apart. She had lost the two things the most important to her in the same night. Ella's innocence was destroyed, Eight's life was taken, and her little happiness had vanished.
She grew more stoic and more emotionless, but she grew stronger.
She denied it for the longest time.
Through the taunting nights where it was drilled in her head, she denied it. Tried to make herself believe that she was not what she was, that she was just as meant to be on Earth as the others. That it was not in her blood for her to take Setrakus Ra's place in time.
She lost her innocence and cried until she no longer felt the need, but she grew stronger.
They are no longer broken.
They remained cracked, though they are not broken.
The older has yet to love and the younger is yet to become fully secure in herself, but they have become stronger. They continue their fight, they rarely cry, they rarely show powerful emotion.
They may not be who they were, but the thing they have changed the most in is that they are no longer in fear.
They aren't afraid to live.
They're aren't afraid to die.
They are simply no longer afraid.
