AN: LAST CHAPTER! YAYAYAYAY!
The Doctor, Clara, and the former Alphas were standing in a circle in the kitchen of the Alpha headquarters. "So. How are you all coping without your abilities?" The Doctor asked.
"It's...definitely different," said Rachel slowly. "At first, I was really upset, but now I'm content with being normal."
"Me too." Nina said, which surprised Dr. Rosen. "I haven't lived a very...honest life with my abilities, and I've wrecked many lives with my power, including my own. I'm almost glad that it's gone."
"I'm glad you feel that way, Nina. You've gotten very strong," said Dr. Rosen. "Cameron, Bill, Kat, how are you holding up?"
"It's alright, I guess. I feel the same as when I did before I found out I was an Alpha. Now I can be normal again," said Hicks. His eyes were on Nina the entire time. Dr. Rosen nodded.
Bill cleared his throat. "Now I won't have to hide anything from my wife. Maybe the FBI will the me back, now that I can't amp up,"
"Let's hope so. Kat?" Dr. Rosen asked.
"I- I thought I would be able to get my memories back of who I was, my childhood, things like that. But I can only remember things from this cycle of remembering. Hopefully, I won't forget anything else, and I'll keep my memories from here on out," Kat said, nodding slightly.
"Skylar contacted me earlier, she had a hunch we were behind the Alphas losing their ability. She's thankful, now she and her daughter can live in peace," added Dr. Rosen.
After a few moments of uncomfortable silence, the Doctor spoke up. "We had a pretty great adventure, didn't we?" He said, throwing an arm around Clara's shoulders. "We all learned new things, things we might not have known existed. We're grateful we got to share it with you guys."
Kat didn't miss the Doctor speaking in plural. "We?" Kat wiggled her eyebrows. "Man, what happened while we were conked out?" Everyone laughed and said their goodbyes to the Doctor and Clara. They knew they would never see them again.
Clara and the Doctor boarded the TARDIS hand in hand. "Oh, did we ever get those sweatshirts for Angie and Arnie?" Clara asked, remembering the whole reason they had come to New York in the first place.
The Doctor smacked his hand to his forehead. "You're right, we didn't! Okay, one quick stop before we go on another adventure." He strode to the console and took them to the Empire State Building. Before they bought the sweatshirts, they rode the elevator all the way to the top.
"Wow, they view from up here is...breathtaking," Clara said quietly as they watched the sun set over New York.
"I'll say," murmured the Doctor. Clara turned her head to see him staring into her eyes. Clara grinned.
"Oh, you naughty boy!" She cried, giggling.
"What? It's not like it isn't true!" The Doctor said, sweeping Clara into his arms as he kissed her.
Back in the TARDIS, with bags from the Empire State Building gift shop, Clara was leaning against the railing in the Snogbox. The Doctor was messing with its wires underneath the control hub. "Doctor..." Clara began.
"Yes, Clara?" A loud clang followed his answer, and a quiet swear.
"When we were in the car on the way to that Warehouse... I had a dream that we were in the Dalek Asylum and you thought I was Oswin, and when I tried to convince you that I wasn't, you got scared of me. Even the Daleks started to back away from me. They were about to shoot me," Clara's voice was wobbling. She had moved to the lower part of the TARDIS where the Doctor was and was sitting on the bottom step.
The Doctor got up and sat down next to Clara. "You aren't Oswin, and Oswin is not you. She is an echo of you, not the same person. She can't even make a decent soufflé!"
Clara looked at the Doctor warily. "I can't make a good soufflé either,"
The Doctor wrapped his arms around Clara. She leaned against him. "You're still my Impossible Girl," he whispered into her ear. Clara smiled as he kissed her forehead. "Would you like to hear one of the Galliferyan fairy tales I was talking about before?" Clara snuggled deeper into the Doctor's chest and nodded.
"Once upon every time and everywhere, in and out of the universe, there was a man, such a lonely man. He had many friends once, but they always managed to leave him in the end. This lonely man loved to travel, anywhere you could possibly think of. He had this box, and it could take him to any time and place he wished."
"Does this lonely man have a name?" Clara interrupted.
"Er, yes. His name is John Smith. John had a wife once. He loved her very much, but she died saving his life in a library. At the time, John barely knew her, as he traveled in time, but she knew every detail about John. As John continued his travels, he kept meeting his future wife more and more, as her past was his future. Then one day, after having learned that his wife was the child of two of John's closest friends, John stumbled upon a girl. Well, not really a girl, more of a Dalek. This Dalek was sure she was human, and John believed so too, until he actually met her. The Dalek gave her life to save John, and he never forgot. He kept meeting this girl, the same one who was a Dalek, except she was a human. A human who wanted nothing more in the world than to travel. John had met this girl several times before, in different times and places, and each time she saved his life by giving her own. Then one day, when he was in a monastery, his phone started ringing. This might not sound very odd, but his phone never rang. It couldn't, it wasn't hooked up to anything. But it was. John answered the phone, and on the other end was the girl! But she had no memory of John, and she wanted him to fix her Internet. John saved the girl's life and invited her to go traveling with him. John took her to amazing places, like a World War Two submarine, and a planet where the entire population sings to keep their evil at bay, but their favorite time together was when they saved a group of people with special abilities from being transformed into aliens. This was the time that they realized they loved each other. Apparently, everyone else could see that they were made for each other, but John and the girl were oblivious, until the girl curled up next to John, and he told her a fairy tale from his native land. They lived happily ever after, going everywhere in time and space." The Doctor finished his story. Clara raised her head from the Doctor's chest and grinned, the biggest grin one can ever grin.
The Doctor smiled too. "I love you, Clara Oswin Oswald." He said simply.
"I love you, too, Doctor," Clara breathed. She moved in to kiss him, but she paused. "Or should I say, John?" The Doctor grinned and wound his hand into Clara's hair, bringing her in for a kiss.
And there they stayed, the Impossible Girl and her Clever Boy, inside the Snogbox, running, forever and ever, anywhere and everywhere.
