Chapter 45-Graduation

Another month had past and it was time for Punk's big day, his graduation. Everyone was excited for this day especially Punk. It would mean that he would be out of school and Steve would finally teach him and let him start to tattoo like he wanted.

Currently Punk was in his room fixing his tie when his parents walked in. "Oh look at my baby, he is all grown up," Claire cried out as she rushed over to him and gave him a great big hug.

"Claire let the boy go all he is doing is graduating from high school and you're acting like he is getting married or joining the army," Jack joked with his wife. He was having the same emotions as she was, but he was able to hold in his feelings a lot better.

Claire walked up to her husband and hit him on the chest, "Oh stop it Jack, like you're not emotional right now. Besides after everything that he has been through, Phil was able to keep his grades up, get a job, and graduate on time. I am so proud of you Phil, you really deserve it."

"Thanks mom, I appreciate that and you're right, I did overcome a lot of things, but I couldn't have done it without my friends and family. I am so ready to end this chapter in my life and start a new one. Speaking of which, I need to show you guys something," Punk said as he went over to his nightstand and pulled out the ring that he had bought AJ. "What do you guys think?"

Jack and Claire both gasped at the ring. "Oh my god Phil, are you planning on proposing to AJ?" Claire asked her son in shock.

"I don't actually know yet. The guy who sold me this ring said that I could be a good engagement ring or a promise ring. I know that I love April and I want to spend time the rest of my life with her, but I never know when a good time to propose to her is or even when a good time to give her this ring as a promise ring is. I always carry this ring with me around a chain on my neck in case I am inspired to do the right thing. I even talked to Carlos about it and he said that when the time is right, I'll know what to do, but I don't know. What do you think?" Punk sighed. Sometimes the decision weighed on him so much that he didn't sleep at night.

Jack could see the stress on his son's face and knew that he had to help him anyway that could. "Look son, at one point I may have said that you were too young to be thinking about getting married, but looking at you now, I can see you have really grown up and are old enough to make your own decisions. Not only that, but now that I have come to know AJ, I can see that she is the right woman for you. I know true love when I see it. The only advice that I could give you right now Phil is you need to do whatever your heart is telling you, but don't take too long, because there will always be someone else that is ready to come in and take the love of your life away from you," Jack told his son honestly. He didn't want Punk to go through the same thing that he did with Claire and Nathan.

Punk thought about what his father had said and took it into consideration. He didn't know what he would do if he lost AJ and wanted to make her his forever. He needed to make a decision and he had to make it fast.

At the graduation…

Everything had happened so quickly once Punk and his family got to the graduation ceremony that he was quickly rushed to the gym where the other seniors were and he didn't even get the chance to see AJ or her family.

Luckily he was with John and Stephen, so at least he had them to talk to. "So John are you ready to give your big speech?" Punk asked his best friend who was graduating as valedictorian.

"Yeah at least I think I am. I stayed up all night making sure that I wrote everything down correctly and that I memorized some of time. I still can't believe that we are graduation," John said nervously. This had been a big year for all of them and not it was all over.

"It is crazy fella, I'm just happy that I passed me classes this semester," Stephen sighed. If it wasn't for Kaitlyn, he wasn't even sure if he would be graduating right now.

The boys continued to talk for some time until the principal came over. "Okay everyone, it's time to make our way over to the football field. Everyone get in your assigned lines now please," he instructed the graduating class.

Seeing as they all had different last names, the boys split apart and went over to where they were supposed to. In their long lines, the seniors were led down to the football field were their friends and family were waiting for them.

As Punk approached the stands, he could hear his name being shouted out by his friends and family. He looked over at AJ who had a big smile on her face and blew him a kiss. She was so proud of him right now. Catching the kiss, Punk put it to his heart as he took a seat in his assigned area.

"Ladies and gentleman, friends and family, thank you for coming to the graduation of the class of 2014. These seniors have completed all for years of high school and deserve the honor of being called high school graduates. While most of the students graduating with good grades and G.P.A's, there is a select few who went beyond that and are graduating with honors. At this time I would like to bring up one of those students who just happens to be the class valedictorian, John Cena," the principal announced and everyone cheered.

John walked up to the stage and shook the principal's hand before he gave his speech, "Thank you friends and family for joining us today for this momentous occasion in our lives. To my fellow graduates, can you believe it, we are graduating. Man I find it hard to believe that four years ago when we walked through the doors of this school for the first time, we were just nervous freshman who had no idea who we were or where we were headed. Now here we are four years later still nervous as hell, but only because we are getting ready to enter the real world. We are now the men and woman that we are now because of the experiences we have experienced in high school. Some of us had to deal with the stereotypical high school drama and some of us have gone through some life changing experiences. I should know, because I have unfortunately have gone through a major life changing events, but it has only make me stronger. You see, this semester I went from being a care free senior whose only decision was where I wanted to go to college, to a soon father to be. I didn't plan on this happening, but I am glad that it did. At first I was scared as hell to be a father, but when I saw my daughter on ultrasound for the first time, I knew that I wanted to be a father. That is who I am now. Yes I will go off to college and make something of myself, but in the meantime my main priority will always be my daughter. For some of you, your main priorities will be going to college, getting a job, get married and even have children of your own. Whatever you decide your main priority is, go for it. Don't let it go, because it can be gone in an instant. Don't be afraid to take chances, because who know, it just might pay off. If worse comes to worse, just follow your heart, because it will always lead you down the right path. I wish the best for you in whatever is going to come your way and with that being said, seniors come up here and get your diplomas.

Everyone watched as row by row all the seniors got up to receive their diplomas. Of course being valedictorian, John got his diploma first and the crowd went nuts. He had always been popular and with the speech he had just given, it had sealed his social status forever.

Next was Punk's turn and as soon as he hit the stage, all his friends and family began to cheer. They were all so proud of his. He looked over at AJ again and saw that she was crying tears of joy. They had made eye contact briefly and when he looked into her eyes, Punk knew what he had to do.

Instead of walking back to his seat, Punk took off his cap and gown and rushed towards the stands were AJ was. Everyone was so confused as to what was happening including AJ. When he got to her, Punk gently took her hand and pulled her to the aisle way. "What's going on Phil?" AJ asked her crazy boyfriend.

"There is something that I have do April, so please listen to me. When John was up there talking about priorities, I looked deeply at my own. While yes I do want to become the best tattoo artist in the world, there is something bigger that I need to focus on. What I want most in the world is you. You are all that I think about everyday April. We have been friends since we were this high and even then I knew that I feelings for you. Even still today you make me a nervous wreck when you walk by. We can talk for hours on the phone or in person and I often find it hard to find the right words to say. What I am trying to say April is that you were made for me and I was made for you. Some may say that we are too young for love, but I have caught feelings for you April now and forever. I want to spend the rest of my life with you and I want to know if you want the same thing." He then got down on one knee and everyone gasped when he pulled out the ring in his pocket, "April Jeanette Mendez, will you marry me and be mine forever?"

When AJ saw the ring, she started to cry even harder. This was the last thing that she had ever expected. She listened close to the words that were coming out of his mouth and knew that he had put his heart and soul into them. She also knew that she loved him with all of her heart and need him in her life. So she pulled him off his knees and looked deep into his green eyes, "Yes Phil, I will marry you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I would love to be Mrs. Phil Brooks."

Punk who was now crying himself, shouted out happily before he slipped the ring onto her finger. Meanwhile the crowd was going crazy all around them. However neither Punk nor AJ paid attention to them and engaged in a passionate kiss. This is where they were meant to be, with each other.

At the stage, John just chuckled and got back on the mic, "Well that was unexpected, but ladies and gentleman, I present to you the graduation class of 2014!"

Everyone through up their caps and watched them reach their peck before coming back down to the ground. While Punk and AJ were still in their kiss and both were happy that they had caught feelings for each other.

The sun comes up on another morning

My mind never wakes up without you on it

And it's crazy to me, I even see you in my dreams

Is this meant to be?

Could this be happening to me?

We were best of friends since we were this high

So why do I get nervous every time you walk by

We would be on the phone all day

Now I can't find the words to say to you

Now what am I supposed to do

Could it be a possibility, I'm trying to say what's up

Cause were me for you, and you for me, baby now it's time for us

Trying to keep it all together but enough is enough

They say we're too young for love

But I'm catching feelings, catching feelings

In my head we're already together

I'm good alone, but with you I'm better

I just want to see you smile

You say the word and I'll be right there

I ain't never going nowhere

I'm just trying to see where this can take us

Cause everything about you girl is so contagious

I think I finally got it done

Now what's left to do now, let's get out the mirror

And say it to her

Could it be a possibility, I'm trying to say what's up

Cause were me for you, and you for me, baby now it's time for us

Trying to keep it all together but enough is enough

They say we're too young for love

But I'm catching feelings, catching feelings

Should I tell her how I really feel or should I moving closer just be still?

How would I know?

Cause if I take a chance, and I touch her hand will everything change?

How do I know, if she feels the same?

Could it be a possibility, I'm trying to say what's up

Cause were me for you, and you for me, baby now it's time for us

Trying to keep it all together but enough is enough

They say we're too young for love

But I'm catching feelings, catching feelings girl

Catching feelings, catching feelings
