A/N: Another update?! What has this world come to?! I'm messin with you guys. This is to make up for the damn near year I haven't written for this. I'll try to post a few more chapters and then from there I'll try my best to post at least once a month. Enjoy.
Mitsuru awoke the next morning with a headache as she thought about the mission debrief from Solomon. "I can't believe Ryou went that far to accomplish nothing." She stood and walked over to a large mirror as she stared at herself in a night gown. She sighed as she let it slip from her shoulders and onto the floor before stepping into the bathroom and into the shower.
She thought about the final piece of news she had received that night. "Labrys escaped." She leaned against the marble wall and slid down as she thought about the number of problems stacking up as time continued to pass. "You will be tested Kirijo-san. If you cannot perform to our liking then we will remove you from the head of this company and replace you with someone we think would be responsible enough." She rested her head against her knees as she took deep breaths in order to calm herself down before getting her thoughts straight.
"Labrys escaped and she attacked us. During the attack we were ambushed by someone we believe to be Naoto of he Shirogane detective family. Boss was wounded and passed out from blood loss while Labrys grabbed Teddie and ran off." She looked up and let the water gently hit her as she allowed everything to wash away when she felt a sudden pain which caused her to grit her teeth as she fell to her side while clutching her head.
"Why aren't you taking everything by the reigns like you're supposed to?" Her eyes widened as she heard the voice in her head before a blue robed woman knelt in front of her. "Eliz-" She was cut off by her hand resting on her chin and lifting up the ceo's head. "You've grown weaker Kirijo. It can't be because of him. No. That's not it. Your mind is clouded by so many thoughts that you can't even speak to it anymore can you?" The redhead was breathing heavily as she tried to push herself up but failed to and collapsed back onto the hard shower floor.
As the interaction with the two continued, she felt a strange feeling of dread overcome her. "I-if you're here. What happened to him?!" The white haired woman simply stood and placed a card on the sink before turning and heading towards the door. "ELIZABETH!" She screamed before she felt the sharp pain return this time her body felt extremely cold. After a few seconds she cried out as a wave of cold air escaped her body freezing everything around her and leaving her against he wall curled up and whimpering as she desperately tried to figure out what was happening to her.
Akihiko shot out of bed and looked around when he had a strange feeling of dread hit him. "I gotta check up on Mitsuru." He stood up and quickly walked over to the room which was across from his mainly for safety purposes. When he touched the door nod he pulled his hand back quickly and looked at it. There was frost on it as if it had been covered in a thin layer of snow. "What the.." He quickly tried to turn the knob but nothing happened which caused him to ram into the door which broke fairly easily. "Mtsuru!" He could see his breath and shivered at the temperature of the room.
He looked around and noticed her gown on the floor which made him realize that she was int he bathroom. "Mitsuru?!" He knocked on the door but nothing. He tried once more but the same thing happened which caused him to ram into the door again. This time it opened after a few tries. What he saw was something that he thought he would never see. "Mitsuru!" He ran over to her who was on the floor with tears sliding down her face as she released a cold aura from herself.
He gently lifted her up and immediately flushed when he realized she was nude. "This isn't the time.." He muttered as he gently set her down and placed a blanket on her before looking around the room for anything that would help. "I wonder.." He quickly pulled out his evoker and was about to use it when he noticed a hand resting on his holster. "I'm fine Akihiko.." She murmured as she had a vacant stare while holding his hand in place. "Listen to me. Whatever it is. We're here to stop something bad from happening! We need you Mitsuru. Snap out of it!" After a few minutes, her eyes regained focus and the cold air suddenly returned to normal.
The two were in the room with the sound of the shower running in the bathroom. He sighed in relief a he slid down the wall he was against and sat there while both were listening to the sound of the water falling in the bathroom. "Aki...I" She couldn't say anything to him and turned away from him, pulling the covers over her head. The silver haired boxer simply stood and walked into the bathroom to turn off the water before sitting on the bed next to the red head.
"Its been a while since you've called me Aki..." He placed a comforting hand on her shoulder which was covered up by the blanket. "How long has it been? five, six years?" Mitsuru simply let the boxer talk as he detailed how long it had been since she had used the nickname Shinjiro picked for him. "I know you don't want me interfering with your personal issues but, You can't keep going on like this. Not after what we all went through. Not after he gave himself up to give us a second chance."
"I know."
Minako yawned as she looked around and noticed they were stopped at a strange town. "Shinji?" She looked around and didn't see him anywhere which prompted her to step out of the vehicle which was parked in a nearly empty parking lot. "Shinjiii!" She wandered around when she heard the sound of door opening followed by Shinjiro and a boy with bleached blonde hair walking out and having small talk. "Ah there you are!"
The beanie wearing brunette looked over and smiled as he and his companion walked over to his crimson eyed lover. "Morning Mina." He nodded over to the person he was with and introduced him. "This is Kanji Tatsumi. I ran into him a little while ago and figured we'd catch up now that we ran into each other again." The teen nodded and crossed his arms as Shinjiro placed his purchases in the rear seat and closed the door. "Well now that we restocked how bout we get moving hmm?" The brunette raised an eyebrow as he noticed Minako staring at Kanji's scar.
Before either could say anything, they heard her speak. "So your name is Rokuten Maoh. Nice to meet you I'm Minako." The two froze as they heard the one sided conversation between the crimson eyed woman and seemingly invisible person. Seconds later, Kanji narrowed his eyes and crossed his arms. "Oh I just noticed you." She giggled as she held her hand out. "Nice to meet you Kanji-Kun. Rokuten-san has a lot of interesting things to say about you." The blond raised an eyebrow as he realized what she was about to say. "Like the time you thought you were ho-" She was immediately cut off by the blonde placing his hand on her mouth.
"That never happened!" He looked away in order to hide the growing blush which was stopped when the girl skipped around him and stared at him again. "Grrr. Shinjiro can you tell your girlfriend to stop staring at me like that?!" The brunette obliged causing the girl to pout as she looked away. "Thanks. Geez never thought I would run into you again Aragaki."
"Why's that?" The brunette replied as he leaned against the car with an amused expression. "We met at port island when you got lost and now we run into each other again cause we're going to Inaba. I would call that simple coincidence. At least I would if you weren't one of us." Kanji sighed and sat down on a nearby bench as he snapped his fingers allowing a blue card to form. "Ah so that's how you bring it out. Apart from Mina and one other member of our group we need these things." He quickly pulled out the evoker and pressed it against his temple. "Its a bit strange but it works."
Kanji simply chuckled until his phone rang. "Ah geez I told them I'd only be gone for a day at most. I gotta get going. See ya round Shinjiro. Later Minako." The duo waved as the blonde ran off as fast as he could.
The rest of the morning was uneventful as they simply continued driving through the country roads while making sure they stayed on course towards the rural town. As they drove, their eyes widened as a large blob erupted from the ground forcing them to stop. "Tch. Its one of them. Minako stay behind me!" He reached for his evoker but was stopped as the jack brothers materialized and charged at the amorphous creature. "At least let me help." The red head shook her head as the beast was lit on fire, frozen in place then finally destroyed when they combined their abilities together to knock it into oblivion.
"phew. That thing came outa nowhere. I guess we're on the right track Shinji-kun." The brunette nodded as they both stepped into the car and began driving once again. The drive was silent until Minako decided to speak. "I know you want to fight Shinjiro but I don't want you to hurt yourself more than you already have. Please. for me." The brunette sighed and finally gave in as he knew trying to beat her in an argument would be pointless.
"Fine but when the time comes. I will fight too."
Ryousuke winced as he pushed himself off of the bed he had been lying on all day. His body was sore and he felt like his side was on fire but before he could leave, a gentle hand slowly pushed him back down. "Rest Ryousuke-kun. You were shot during your mission last night and they spent a majority of that time making sure you were okay." He winced and instead of lying back down, he slid against the large frame of the bed which caused him to wince once again. "Here drink some water. You must be thirsty." The red head nodded as he took a drink and sighed before placing the cup back down on the dresser.
"I guess we failed the mission huh." Fuuka sighed as she nodded but she quickly kept him from pushing himself off the bed once again. "I need to go address my team." The green headed girl shook her head as she kept him sitting on the bed. "C'mon Fuuka. Let me get up." She sighed and looked like she was about to help him when she raised her hand and bopped him over the head which caused him to wince once again. "Ngh Damnit Fuuka! That hurt!" He rubbed his head while she turned and huffed as she stormed towards the door but stopped and looked down. "I was hoping to spend the day with you Ryousuke-Kun. I guess I should have thought that over more." She left the room and left the room.
He sighed and slowly pushed himself up as he looked around for any clothing that was lying around. He spotted a neatly folded stack of clothing which caught his attention. Once he picked it up he noticed a piece of paper slide out. "I picked these up for you while shopping. I hope you like it. -Fuuka" He looked at the note and immediately regretted what he did. "Damn it all!" He dressed as quick as he could before limping out of the room and towards the direction he thought she would be in. As he continued to move, he noticed that there was no sign of a person passing by almost as if she disappeared from the face of the earth.
While he struggled to move through the halls, he heard a feminine voice. "So the crimson knight still lives." His eyes widened as he turned and noticed Elizabeth facing him with a small smile gracing her face. "You gave me quite a scare. You nearly fell to someone of lesser skill." He grit his teeth as he reached towards where he normally held his swords but found nothing. "Your weapons wouldn't have much effect on me anyway. I just came to warn you mister knight."
"Warn me about what? We've been keeping the shadows suppressed through countless hunts and anyone left over from the persona project has either passed away of natural causes or joined us." He silently moved into a hand to hand stance but winced when he couldn't keep said stance due to his wounds. "Ngh. Guess we won't be fighting." He heard her chuckle as she took stood in front of him with her book open.
"In one years time. Something will emerge from the other side. This thing will be strong enough to wipe everything out if it isn't stopped." Ryousuke grit his teeth as he let what she was saying sink in. "This thing will test your capabilities. If you're strong enough to beat it." She smiled warmly as she said the last part. "We'll be able to save Minato's soul."
Mitsuru and Akihiko sat quietly in the car as it drove towards the local prison where two valuable sources of information were being detained. The first was a young man by the name of Mitsuo Kubo who killed a man named Morooka. The second was a bit more special, he led a serial kidnapping spree and murdered two people for his amusement. This man went by the name of Tohru Adachi.
Once the driver made it to the large gate, he rolled down his window and quickly introduced himself and the two members of SEES who were allowed into the facility with little effort. Upon parking, Mitsuru quickly told the driver to park and wait till they called him in while Akihiko would be accompanying the redhead into the prison. The building was made of solid concrete and metal bars that reinforced it. The many cells that held inmates to dangerous for society rested there while anyone deemed too mentally damaged would be moved to the psychiatric ward. They were headed in that direction to meet their first inmate, Mitsuo Kubo.
The young man sat in the middle of the room with a vacant expression while slowly swaying back and forth while mumbling things under his breath. Upon the duos arrival, the man slowly looked at them and chuckled as he stood and lazily walked towards them."Another person who wants to talk to a God?" The boxer raised an eyebrow while Mitsuru simply sat down on the seat provided to her. She quietly pulled out a tape recorder and turned it on. "So it is another person whose interested."
He huffed as he sat down and looked at Mitsuru with wild eyes. "You want to know about the other side?" She nodded as she crossed her hands on her lap as the man began to speak. "I was given a power. A power to judge those who wronged me." He chuckled as he tapped his fingers on the table. "It let me crawl into a new world where I was God. Where the rules were my own. Where I RULED EVERYTHING!" He slammed his fist on the table and laughed wildly before continuing.
"The cost? A total of six people. Six who didn't know what they got themselves into. Yuki-chan, she turned me down so many times but I nearly made her mine when I was on the other side." He smiled maliciously as he traced a figure into the table with his hands. "Rise-san, she was perfect in my world. A beautiful woman who would be mine after I was done with the snow princess."
Before he could continue, Akihiko slammed his hands on the table knocking the man out of his daze. "Just tell us about the 'other side'! Don't tell us about the sick fantasies that got you here!" Mitsuo sneered as he pushed himself up and pointed two fingers at the boxer and yelled 'BANG' before he burst out laughing. Before the boxer could say anything else, Mitsuru simply shook her head as the man sat back down and continued speaking.
"I failed to kill any of them so I killed someone who was fairly close to them I would guess. Their homeroom teacher Morooka. He was so easy to lure and finally the best part was hanging his dead body on the antenna where it would be discovered quickly." He laughed as he tilted his head a continued once again. The pair was trying to cover their unnerved expressions as they heard about his plans to attempt to finally kill the supposed six that were the supposed thorn in his side.
Once they finished, Mitsuo looked at the redhead and licked his lips. "Watch yourself heehee. Soon enough God will ravage that bountiful body of yours." He laughed wildly as he surged forward in an attempt to grab Mitsuru but was quickly suppressed as medics sedated him. The duo quickly left, wanting to already forget about their conversation when a guard stopped them. "Yes?" The guard nodded towards a room which had 'private meeting room' marked on it. The three walked into the room and were surprised to find the other person they were there to talk to. Adachi was leaning against a wall throwing a ball at the opposing wall and catching it while whistling. When he turned he chuckled a he caught the ball once more and sat down on a nearby chair.
"Well. Well. Well. So the rumors were true. The Kirijo's want my help. What does the big ol' company want from lil ol' Adachi?" The duo was further unnerved by this man as opposed to the insane Mitsuo Kubo. The three sat down as they listened to him whistle which seemed to cause the redhead to remember something. "Why do you whistle all the time?" The young man chuckled and shrugged. "I mean every time we enter Tartarus you always whistle the same song." The man chuckled once more and readied his fire arm as they began to walk into the large tower.
"I whistle because it soothes my nerves. I tend to get nervous and jumpy whenever I do anything dangerous." He continued to whistle until they made it into the main hall. "Stay behind us lady Mitsuru." A loud noise caused everyone to look around at least until everyone was overrun by shadows. "Ngh! Damn it everyone protect the girl and keep these things away!" The man began to unload on the creatures but was knocked aside and watched helplessly as one of the larger creatures was about to engulf the young Mitsuru.
With the last bit of strength he had left, he pushed himself up and dashed in between the shadow and Mitsuru causing it to ram into him as opposed to the young heiress who simply stood there as the member of her guard was launched a couple of feet away from her. "Mitsuru! Run!" Another man yelled out, this time the other man ran in between her and the shadows before reaching for a fallen gun. "Get my little girl out of here! Tohru!" The fallen guard winced and was about to do as told when a claw slashed the C.E.O of the company across the face causing him to cry out in pain as his eye was sliced open.
The girl screamed and everything was frozen following her kneeling by her father. The image of a person standing behind her protectively caused everyone who was still alive to stare in awe as all of the shadows were frozen in place when the ones who were still able to move attempted to get closer.
After a few minutes, Akihiko nudged Mitsuru who shook her head as she placed a folder on the table. "You want to ask me about the incident?" He quickly placed the ball on the table and folded his arms as he leaned back into his chair. "If that's the case then where should I start?"
The noise of typing was heard as a black haired man slid his fingers across a keyboard in order to reply to a message. He continued until the sound of a door opening interrupted his thoughts. "Hmm?" His eyes widened as he noticed a woman with a slim yet well built body entered the room carrying an unconscious male. The woman gently set the unconscious male on the nearby table and walked over to the man who quickly sent the message he was typing before looking at the male. "Hmm. I knew I asked you to save him from that idiot but you should have left him with Nao-chan." He tapped his chin then sat down at the edge of the table.
"I thought you would want to have him here so you could modify his memories. I didn't think that would make you angry.." The man chuckled and pat the woman's head causing her to flush and look away. "P-please don't do that." He chuckled once again but this time he looked at his hand and held it out as it opened multiple slots. A second later, it formed a small firearm which he pointed at his head.
"Persona." The sound of glass shattering filled the room but a few seconds later, the man placed his hands on the temples of the unconscious male and began to focus. "Mnemosyne. We need to alter the memories within the past twenty four hours." A woman in white robes and a staff resting on her back appeared next to the man and nodded as she followed the man's movements and focused as they skimmed through the male's memories.
After a few minutes, the two stopped and the woman disappeared. "Thank you Mosyne." He winced as he sat back down and let out a deep breath. "He's set and doesn't need anything else except being home within the next hour or he'll wake up here and that will be a problem." He stared at his hand which reverted to normal. "By the way. How did you make it here before the sun set? From Port Island to here it should be at least a 2 day walk if you're moving at full speed. Wait wait wait! Did you use it?" The woman nodded which caused the man to jump up and laugh as he celebrated. "It worked! My device worked!"
"I was able to fly with the axe at high velocity which allowed me to get here faster. I don't know how you got it into the plane where I was but thank you." She bowed but she blinked when he patted her head once more. "Don't get worked up Labrys. I'll need you here in order to get ready for whats ahead." He walked towards the computer and looked at the image of Mitsuru and Akihiko talking to Adachi. "We won't make any moves yet but we'll be ready when its our turn." He sat down and listened to the conversation. "Take Teddie home and if anyone sees you, knock em out then come back. We have a welcome party to prepare."
Labrys nodded as she picked up the still out cold Teddie before looking back at the man. "Zetsuo. How long will you stay away from SEES?" The man chuckled as he flipped a lighter in his hand. "Until the pain of losing myself goes away." He stared at his metallic arm and sighed as he heard the door close. "I gave you the first step Mitsuru, if my hunch is right. Adachi will be the key you need to solve your problem."
A/N: So the lore for Labrys will change quite a bit in this story. Things will be heating up soon enough. Oh and a quick side note. Anyone want to make a cover for this story? If you do then I'll be eternally grateful and I'll take a suggestion and implement it :3 have a nice day guys look forward to P4: The End having its return soon as well.
