The snow storm had intensified all during the night, but had slowed down in the morning. So it was clear enough for James Gordon to drive through the forest. James thought to himself while driving, "I'm lucky that this baby hasn't gotten stuck once, and made a lot of ground." James kept driving north past the hotel till he reached the edges of the mountains. Having no choice he stopped, and walked out with a rifle. Walking forward, he thought, "I think that bastard isn't too far ahead, unless he had a ride. Still can't be too careful of bears in this territory." As he walked a bit further, he started to look for tracks. "I haven't hunted since I was 16 with my dad, hopefully I still remember something. Now he always said foot steps are one of the hardest things to track in a snow storm, as it covers up to fast. But there are other things, broken branches which means something went through in a hurry. Resting places if the weather is too bad for the prey to move. There has to be something like that here." He kept walking forward, till he saw some broken branches on the side. He quickly examined them, "There were splinters on the trees, but they were too high. It wasn't accidental, someone broke this for a reason. Probably for fire. And if there is fire, then there is a camp" Getting rifle ready, he slowly started walking by the trees, heading towards the direction where the branches are broken.

After a few minutes of walking through the thick snow, he finally saw a cave. James quickly crouched down, and walked towards the cave. His rifle aimed at anything that may move. As he got inside, he turned on his flashlight, while keeping his rifle cocked, ready to blow anything or anyone away. But he found nothing, but aiming the flash light down he saw a 2 bags, a sleeping bag, some clothes hanged up on a worn out fire. James quickly smirked, "Bingo." He walked towards the bags, when he heard faint shuffling in the snow outside. James quickly aimed his rife towards the noise, but it was too far to see. Cursing, he decided to leave the bags and slowly walk outside. His eyes peered around the forest, "Why care about evidence if I can get the guy". He could still hear the faint shuffling, it was getting further away. He quickly started chasing after it, as he ran further away from the cave, he failed to notice the hill above it, where a figure was watching him run.

Gordon kept following the noise for a while, but for some reason couldn't find any prints. As he kept walking carefully looking for any tracks, he suddenly realized the noise had stopped. He got worried, as he looked around. "Did he hear me, shit or did run away or is he hiding." Gordon slowly walked forward going through some trees, where he found a small clearing. Happy that he can see better, he kept walking forwards, when he suddenly heard some rustling followed by a low growl.

Gordon stopped, all he could say was, "Shit" as he quickly turned to shoot, but it was too late. The beast had already swiped his paw at him, breaking the gun. It tried to attack again, but Gordon quickly dodged as he rolled away. Having found some distance, he finally saw the true shape of the beast, it was the biggest black bear he had ever seen in his life. The bear lunged at him, Gordon tried to roll out of the way but he was too slow, and got hit by the bears paw. It felt like a sledgehammer hit his ribs, as the claw ripped through throwing him across a few feet. He tried to get up, quickly fell back in pain. His chest bleeding profusely, and he could hardly breathe. He could only stare, as the bear lunged at him again. He couldn't do anything, but keep on looking as the bear reared its jaw to bite him. When suddenly, he saw a black flash right next to the bear, and what he could describe a fist hitting it in the head. Stunned, the bear moved back for a second. James got a good look at the black flash, and saw a man wearing a black suit. He couldn't see his face, but the suit looked like it was meant for combat. Trying to ignore the pain, he noticed some more details about the man. He was around 6 foot, and judging by how the clothes fit him, well built. He certainly looked strong, and then the thought finally cross his mind, "is he the killer." The bear roars with ferocity, snapping him out of his thoughts as he watch it lunge at the man. Gordon could just unbelievably watch as he see the masked man instead of running, or dodging, heads straight towards the bear, ready to clash with it. "Who the hell is this guy?"
