The flat was quiet, except for the soft music playing in the background. Molly looked at John, she scanned every detail of his face, he looked tired and worn out, she realized that he had been the man at the store and in a way it made her feel good that she was not, in fact, seeing things or going crazy as Sherlock had said. There was movement beside John now and Mary appeared beside him, she looked different her hair was brown and she also looked tired and worn out. The two slowly entered the flat hand in hand, Molly turned to look over at Sherlock who was staring at the pair with a blank expression, he seemed to be, for the sake of better words, 'rebooting'. She should say something, but she couldn't seem to find the right thing to say she let out a sigh and turned to look at the Watson's and they looked like they were having the same problem.

It felt like time was moving slow, no one had made a move or said anything since John and Mary had entered the flat. Molly finally opened her mouth to speak, but was quickly interrupted by a laugh. John, Mary, and Molly all look over to Sherlock whose laughter only grew louder, soon there was tears streaming on his face and he's laughing almost maniacally. Molly quickly turned to look away from him and glanced at John and Mary, they were both sporting the same 'what the fuck?' face that she was sure she had too.

"Sherlock?" she finally said,"Stop. You're scaring me."

Sherlock ignored her and walked over to the pair.

"I should have known!" he said in amusement and let out a chuckle, "I was so dull to think that you two...were actually dead!"

Molly stood up quickly and watched him, she opened her mouth to say something, but she saw his face turn from amused to angry and in a blink of an eye Sherlock suddenly swung his arm and punched John in the jaw before tackling him to the ground.

"Sherlock!" she screamed.

But it was too late, however, John didn't seem to be doing anything to defend himself while Sherlock tried to hit him. Molly and Mary were there in an instant as they tried to pull them apart.

Molly and Sherlock watched John and Mary on the couch. John had a bag of ice against his jaw while Mary cleaned up the blood from his lip. Molly sat on one of the chairs that Sherlock had put along with the table, while Sherlock sat in his leather chair, his hands steepled under his chin, glaring at the Watson's.

"What's all this?" said John suddenly.

He waved a hand at the candles and flowers scattered throughout the flat.

"You, uh, interrupted our dinner." replied Molly, feeling rather awkward.

John blinked a few times and scanned the room, before his eyes settled on the pair.

"Are you..." he began

"...Yes." she said slowly.

"Together?"

Molly nodded and John glanced over to Mary before making a face, they seemed to be having their own silent conversation. John finally let out a sigh, he turned to look at Molly and Sherlock and opened his mouth to speak, only for him to be interjected by Sherlock's own voice.

"Why did you do it?" he said suddenly.

John let out a sigh and nodded, "You have questions." he said.

"Yes. Now,Why did you two—fake your deaths?" he said in an impatient tone.

Molly scowled at him before glancing over to them, curiously to what they would say.

Mary was the one to speak then,"We all know about—my past." she began, "I've done terrible things and with my past I've also left some people. People who don't exactly want me—alive."

She glanced at them and licked her lips nervously before continuing, "I thought I had done a good job at covering my tracks or else I wouldn't have gotten married."

As she finished that sentence John took a hold of her hand and squeezed it firmly.

"I began to receive letters one day." she began, "Pictures of me from the past and pictures of John and Charlotte."

Molly could see Sherlock tense at the mention of Charlie, but continued to listen to Mary.

"I knew that someone had found me and it wouldn't be long until they went after them I—"

John quickly spoke before she could continue, "She told me what was happening and I instantly knew that we were in danger."

"Why didn't you come to me?" said Sherlock suddenly.

"Because, we thought— we hoped we wouldn't have to drag you along. You had just finished up the fake Moriarty case and we saw how much it had put into you, I knew that look." he told him, "It was the same look I had when I came back from the war. Moriarty's fake return brought up a lot of bad memories to you. A-And I didn't want to push you off the edge any further."

Sherlock's jaw clenched, but he gave him a swift nod, urging John to continue, which he did.

"We knew we had to disappear."

"So you killed yourselves." said Molly softly.

John nodded,"Mary is still in contact with some people from her past, they helped us—fake our car accident, we knew we couldn't take our daughter with us, but knew you two would do everything in your power to protect her."

"But the autopsies?" she said in confusion.

"Again all Mary's old contacts."

Molly nodded and glanced over to Sherlock she could see him processing all that new information in his mind, "So why are you back? All done?" he said almost bitterly.

"No, when we left we went on a quest to find out who was threatening Mary."

"And did you?" asked Molly curiously.

"Yes." said Mary, "Victor Holloway, I was sent to assassin his brother, the pair had a illegal weapons empire in Russia. They sold weapons to militia's in Africa and Afghanistan. After I successfully assassinating his brother he went on the hunt for his murderer and eventually found me, I was able to escape and began the process of changing my identity and well...you know the rest."

"So I'm taking that you need our help?" Said Sherlock.

They both nodded, "We were successful in finding his location, but when we went there..." Began Mary.

"It was a trap. We hoped that by faking our deaths it would give us time before he realized we were alive, we were wrong. Now he knows that we're alive and we're afraid he'll go after Charlotte."

Sherlock sat back in his chair, meanwhile, Molly could feel her anxiety rising she didn't know what would happen if something happened to Charlie...

"We need time." said Sherlock suddenly.

Both John and Mary looked at him, John nodded suddenly, "We understand."

"I assume you have somewhere to stay?" said Sherlock, no trace of emotion in his voice.

"Yes." confirmed John.

"And it's safe?"

"Safe enough."

Sherlock pressed his lips in a thin line and nodded.

"Can we see her?" said Mary suddenly, "Charlie, can we see her?"

"I don't think that's a good idea." said Sherlock, "I think you should go for now."

Mary closed her mouth and sighed, "Come on, John. We've overstayed our welcome."

Molly suddenly stood up at the same time that Sherlock did.

"No, No!" she said, "You just—caught us by surprise."

She followed them to the door, Sherlock hovering closely behind her.

"But you'll help us won't you?" Said John quickly as if he feared that they say no.

"We'll talk later." replied Sherlock, again, no trace of emotion in his voice.

John gave him a sadden look, "I'm truly sorry." he whispered.

Sherlock's jaw clenched and he simply nodded before turning away so his back was to them. Molly and John exchanged a look before he looked away and followed Mary down the stairs. Molly closed the door and turned to look at Sherlock she reached out to place a hand on his shoulder, but he simply shrugged her off before walking into their room and slamming the door behind him, she heard the soft click of the lock and Molly let out a sigh. She grabbed her mobile and dialed Mycroft's number.

"I assume congratulations are in order?"

Molly made a face, "What? What are you talking about?"

"He didn't—?" he began, but suddenly paused, "What can I do for you?"

She bit her lip nervously,"I was wondering if Charlie could stay with you or your parents for a few days, Mrs. Hudson too, if possible."

The other end went silent, "May I ask why?"

Molly glanced over to the bedroom door and let out a sigh,"It seems like some old friends decided to pay us a visit."

"You don't mean?"

Molly nodded, "John and Mary are back."
