Chapter 1

Dr Nye

Sometime in the fourteenth century

It was the most horrific thind the doctor had ever seen and he was the soul responsible for its creation. Dr Nye stood amazed at his work. It truly was a finding that would be speculated for years to come.

Dr Nye took the rat in hand and felt its weak pulsation of a heart. The rat had passed with flying colors on the lab results. It was injected with the tube that would first set the rat in uncontempt temperature changes. In one side of the cage the doctor placed dry ice and on the other side heated rocks, many times the rat would switch sides. Check.

Pain would soon follow. Dr Nye did not speak rat but from many other testings he knew the difference of cries when the vermin screetched in agony. Check.

And finally most importantly, death. Large patches of hair fell off the final containers of rats and they died soon after from serious sudden losses of blood. This is not what the doctor had ordered. Only one rat, his prized possession rat, had showed the signs the doctor wanted to see. The rat exposed a series of rashes and swelled parts of its small body. Early in the morning when the doctor Nye had went to check on his patients condition he found it dead. There was one last part of the experiment if all else went well then Dr Nye would be the most important man of both mortal and magical world.

Dr Nye placed the rat in the other cages with the stil alive specimens, three days later they were all dead. Nye smiled, well as much as his lipless mouth could. He had created what was now called the Bubonic Plague. And now he was ready to continue with his master plan and unleash it to the world.
