Hey everyone, I recently posted about reviving this story, but in a longer, more mature form of writing, and a lot of people seemed to want it. SO, I will be updating this story, along with my new fic, A New Life, and I will leave each chapter where it is until I rewrite it. Last time I was rather hard pressed for ideas, so I could use as many reviews as I can. DO not consider this a rip off of mi22y's fic. Consider it an, ah, remake. Reviews saying otherwise will be removed…. Enjoy and review!
3rd Person POV
It was a normal day at camp. The sun shone seamlessly, there was not a cloud in the sky, the grass was greener than ever and the strawberries were growing faster than ever. However, there was one thing that was out of place. The mood at Camp Half-Blood seemed subdued; the campers were not their usual cheery selves. Annabeth paced the grounds, muttering calculus sums under her breath worriedly. The Aphrodite kids, as usual, applied makeup, but it was quieter than used to; there was no excited gossip this time. Thalia was in the Zeus cabin, blasting Punk Rock music at full volume, almost waiting for someone to tell her to pipe it down. But one thing, no, two things were missing. Connor and Travis Stoll, up on the roof of the Hermes cabin, had no such aura of depression of the other campers. It would take more than a few Titans to bring these twins down. They surveyed the scene of the camp, with an identical mischievous gleam in both of their eyes, and both had the same thoughts.
"It seems so, dead here." Connor said, actual concern in his dark blue eyes.
"Yeah, remember when this place was fun?" Travis said, his mind flitting back to past memories.
"Like when we put chocolate bunnies on the Demeter cabin?"
"Or when we gave the Aphrodite cabin that golden mango?"
"Yeah, I never had any idea makeup could be permanent…" Connor said, cringing at the memory.
"I think this camp is too gloomy, brother."
"Yes, I agree. We need an idea to… ah, cheer them up."
"What if… We put spiders in the Athena cabin?" Travis suggested.
"YASSS! They would freak out soooo much."
"Or… What if we dyed Percy's pool blue?" Travis shot out again.
"Maybe… We could give Clarisse a bull's head for her birthday?" Connor said, obviously excited at the idea.
The duo shot ideas out like bullets, each more exciting and potentially funnier than the last. The minutes passed, and the ideas trickled out, and they went down to their cabin to put pen to paper. A few solid hours of writing produced the list right before their very eyes.
"101 things I'm not allowed to do at Camp Half-Blood" Travis read out.
"Rule number one: I will no" Connor was interrupted by Travis putting him in a headlock and covering his mouth.
"Dude! What the hell was that for?!" Connor said, wrenching himself from his brother's grip.
"You don't read it out loud! Okay. There's like a hundred people in this cabin, they could hear us!" Travis gestured to their bunk mates around them, who had all given puzzling looks to their co senior counsellors.
"Hey, we should make that a rule." Connor said.
"What, not to read the list out loud?" Travis said, both bewildered and bemused.
"Yeah! It just makes it feel more… um… Sacred." Connor said, temporarily at a loss of words.
"Okay, I may as well. I'm starting to like it. One little problem though." Travis said, cringing.
"What is it, dude?"
"Are we going to keep this list to ourselves? Cause I feel like this should be a group thing." Travis explained, waving a hand towards everyone, who had now resumed their gloomy depression.
"Okay, bro. I was starting to feel that vibe too." Connor said. The duo simply glanced at each other and knew instantly who to find. The two walked out of their cabin, practically hand in hand, and sought out the people they sought out.
10 Minutes Later
They were all by the lake, staring at the water, not saying a word to each other, practically cutting themselves in depression.(just an expression) All four of them were in the same place, not a single other person. They saw the twins and simultaneously said, grouchily
"What the hell do you want?"
They were rather taken aback by their snappiness, and expecting a more enthusiastic answer, they did not proceed as enthusiastically as before. Nevertheless, they still proceeded.
"So… With Kronos rising and all…" Travis said
"And us probably having about a year to live…" Connor finished his sentence.
"We have a preposition for you!"
"And what exactly would that be?" Annabeth asked, being the most suspicious of the group.
"101 Things I'm not allowed to do at Camp Half-Blood!" The twins said in harmonious unison.
"An outrageously controversial list…" Connor said.
"That will leave many pissed." Travis rhymed. Annabeth squinted at them. Right now, they were reminding her WAY too much of two certain identical redheaded literary characters.
"Let's see this list…" Thalia said, snatching it from the twins.
"Rule No 1. I will not… Oh." Thalia said, abiding to the first rule perfectly
"What is it?" Grover enquired.
"Yeah, read it, Thalia!" Percy half asked, half commanded.
"You read it." Thalia said, pale-faced, handing them the paper.
They read it, and their faces paled whiter than a Lare from New Rome.
"So, what do you say, guys?" The twins said, but they already knew the answer.
The group had little choice but to accept.
So guys, how do you like it? Remember this is not a rip off, just a remake. I really need ideas, so please do whatever you can to help. I will be deleting the rest of the chapters after I rewrite them, so please follow/favourite. Thanks guys! New chapter for A New Life next week.
