Hey, guys... I know you were expecting an update, but I owe you all an apology. I have no excuse for letting this story sit for as long as I have. Back in November, Joker and I started up our HeartCatch Precure/Kamen Rider Gaim fic. Unfortunately, through a combination of not thinking things through and circumstances out of our control, we were forced to take hiatus on that for a couple of months. Also unfortunately, I had invested much of my brain power into that, so when I couldn't work on that and came back to this, I had horrible, horrible Writer's Block. That's what got me stuck for a while. Now, though, I've had plenty of time to get over it, and I've been trying to get back to writing for this. It's my first serious story after all; I have a lot of affection for it. That's when two things happened: me being myself and being lazy, and something I realized.

...The current chapters, while not bad per say, could have been done much better. Most notably, I wrote a rather large plothole early on, and I don't particularly enjoy the 1st person format when it's not actually me in that position. Then, we come to the crux of the matter; Chronos is not particularly that interesting the way he is. He's just a rather generic version of myself, and I heavily implied that he was supposed to be me. Not anymore. I actually have a backstory in mind for him now, and I no longer wish to write him as just myself with a different coat of paint.

So in short, what do I actually mean? I'm going to revise the previous chapters before I get back to writing for this again. Bear with me; over the next week, I'll revise the previous chapters so they approach my current standards and don't have any plotholes for the overarching plot I actually have. Some of it, you may have guessed, and some I need to foreshadow so it doesn't come out of left field.

So basically? I'm sorry you're having to put up with me being myself. Please don't review this chapter. If you want to talk to me regarding this, PM me; it's what it's there for.

Of course, since Fanfiction rules say you can't have a chapter just be an author's note, let me give you a sneak peek of what's to come! As a warning, since this note will be gone when I upload the real Chapter 4, you have until then to tell me if something doesn't feel right! Should be pretty soon too. I've been listening to the Kiva Re-Union album and my mood's peaked!

Still, I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry...

"Grr...I'm not giving up here!" Emperor Kiva shouted as he struggled to his feet from Arc's attack. Behind him, Rising IXA, Kivaara, Rey, and Saga did the same.

"W-We can't just quit," IXA echoed, clutching her side in pain.

"I refuse to let some Mazoku beat us like this! Kiva, as your Master, I order you to take him out!" Kivaara said in a snit.

"Louise Francoise, don't get heated up. Arc is a mighty foe. Still, I will protect my Kingdom!" Rey firmly declared.

"It is not so much that we are not giving up, it is more that we cannot give up," Saga agreed.

"You'd know all about that, wouldn't you, King?" Kiva asked with an aside look.

Saga rolled his eyes from behind his armor. "You may have Kiva's power, but that does not mean I hold you worthy of it, Rivers," he reminded Kiva.

"Um...aren't we forgetting something?" IXA timidly asked. They then remembered the fact that Arc was in the vicinity, and about to drop his fist down on them. The five of them scrambled away in the nick of time, avoiding being squashed.

As Kiva rolled to his feet, he gritted his teeth. "If this keeps up, this will end in disaster!" he spat. He threw back his cape, revealing the Zanvat Sword. "You ready, Derf?" he asked as he drew the sword. Derflinger, for he now rested in the Zanvat sword, acknowledged him.

"Always ready, partner!" he declared, moving the mouth of Zanvat-bat as he talked. At that, Kiva drew the Zanvat Fuestle from the Kibuckle and placed it in Kivat's mouth.

WAKE UP!

With that announcement, Kiva lunged forward!
