Harmonic Convergence

The two avatars laid in bed, naked, sweaty, and grinning like crazy. "I...wow...that was...wow.." Korra said breathlessly, not sure how to phrase the feeling she had experienced.

Hiccup was blushing wildly at Korra's praise, "I'll take that as a complement I guess." he said, earning a light slug in the arm from his newly declared lover. "Still hurts." he stated, making Korra smile and roll her eyes at him.

"You know you love it. Now cuddle me." she said as she snuggled closer to Hiccup. He mere smiled and wrapped a arms around her before shutting his eyes.

Bumi was playing his flute beside Oogi while Korra was throwing air blasts into a stuffed dummy while Hiccup, Toothless, Stoick, and Astrid stood off to the side. "Well she has a temper." Astrid stated as the three watched her lay into the defenseless sack.

Hiccup gave her a pointed look, "Really? Your gonna be the one who says that?" he asked skeptically.

Astrid shit him back one, "And your gonna be the one to say that to me?" she asked with a threatening undertone in her voice.

Hiccup that of that for a second before responding, "Forget I said anything." he quickly added. Toothless shook his head at his rider's lack of backbone, "Oh really? Why don't you go on and say it to her face then?" Hiccup asked his lifelong companion.

Toothless looked at Astrid and gave a purr fallowed by a small roar. Astrid rolled her eyes at the dragon's attempt to talk with her, "Yea same to you Toothless." she replied, said dragon let out a puff of smoke at that.

Hiccup looked over to see Tenzin coaching Korra, now usually that meant that she was going a little overboard with the offense. But he was actually encouraging it, much to Hiccup's surprise. "Though you are right. Korra's temper is a big trigger for her-" Korra fireblasted the manikin's head off it's shoulders, coming to a stop at the four's feet. "But I love that about her." Hiccup added as he picked up the the roasted head.

He tossed it to Korra as she approached them, "Thanks Hiccup. You want a go with the punching bag?" she asked, gesturing behind to the ashes of what was once the dummy.

"Maybe if you didn't kill him already." Hiccup said with deadpan in his voice. Korra looked back to the dummy remains and merely shrugged, "He was kinda asking for it. And trust me, Unaluq is going to get it much worse." she said with anger in her voice.

Tenzin approached the group with a steel look in his eye, "Unaluq will be expecting us no doubt. So we're going to need all the power we can manage to beat him." he stated as Kya joined us.

Stoick nodded in agreement, "Aye, best thing Vikings are good at are overpowering our enemies." he stated proudly.

"Once we reach the Southern Watertribe, we'll blast thought the blockade at the port, meet up with Tonraq and his troops, crash through the defenses around the portal, and enter the Sprit World." he stated with his arms crossed.

Kya and Hiccup shared a look, "Ok...who are you and what have you done with the monk we all know and love?" Hiccup asked, shocked by Tenzin's brute strategy.

"Hiccup you should know that I'll do anything to save my daughter." Tenzin said plainly. Oh great, now we have TWO Korras. Sprits give me strength. Hiccup thought.

Bumi put a hand on his brother's shoulder, "We all want to save Jinora, but your plan sounds over aggressive. Even with the troops we have." he said, gesturing to the back is the ship were the Viking ships fallowed the yacht.

"And what do you suppose we do?" Tenzin asked snippily.

The crazy man smiled, "A attack like this calls for strategy. This reminds me of the time me and my men where surrounded by pirates in the tornado sea-"

"What he means is, we don't have equal and/or greater firepower than they do. So we need to play it smart." Hiccup interrupted , knocking full well where the story was going and that Tenzin would not like the outcome.

Stoick nodded, "Hiccup's right. We only have a handful of dragons and they aren't exactly a armada." he reasoned. Tenzin let out a sigh before nodding in agreement.

As the large group headed back to the door of the ship, Toothless smelt something off about his rider and Korra. Taking a sniff from Hiccup, he turned to Korra, "Uhhhhh bud, what are you doing?" he asked the reptile.

Korra looked down strangely at the dragon before a look of realization and embarrassment came over her, "Maybe he smells...that training session from last night.." she said, sending Hiccup a look.

They both gave the dragon a nervous look. Toothless have them a smile, as though he was saying, 'About time you two attempted to mate.'

Hiccup face palmed, "Great. My dragon can smell that. That's just perfect." Hiccup said sarcastically. Korra's face could only redden from embarrassment.

As they got to the door, Asami opened it with a worried look in her face. "We may have a problem."

...

"The problem is that it's freezing here!" Snotlout yelled over the winds as they fallowed Oogi to the Avatar Compound. The Dragon Riders had decided to tag along to help scout out the terrain. And Snotlout was complaining of course.

"Well it's called the South Pole for a reason!" Astrid yelled over to him, Hiccup rolled his eyes, they argued like a old married couple. Korra was down on the ground, riding through the gates when Oogi landed near Katara's hut.

Landing beside Oogi, Hiccup hopped off of Toothless and ran to meet Senna while the others went inside, "Senna! We heard what happened." Hiccup said as he approached the woman who wrapped him in hug. "Are you alright?" Hiccup asked as she pulled away.

The older woman nodded, "They may have taken Tonraq but this isn't over yet Hiccup. So where's the reinforcements?" she asked, hope present in her voice by the arrival of her daughter and friends.

"The reinforcements are preparing to attack as we speak. We just need to get our plan worked out." Hiccup explained as the other Dragon Riders landed behind him. Senna nodded as she went to join the others on the hut.

Astrid looked up to the house from Hiccup's side, "So it's just us now is it?" she asked, her voice shoeing no room for falter.

Hiccup nodded, "Yea pretty much but it doesn't really change our plans." he said, looking on the bright side. Someone had to at this point right?

"And what plan would that be?" Astrid asked.

"Exactly." Hiccup replied as the members of team avatar exited the hut. Hiccup looked at them expectantly, "So the full on attack is out the window I guess. Any other ideas." Bumi raised his hand, "One that isn't from the mind of a madman." he added. Bumi's hand didn't go down, "Bumi."

The general lowered his hand with a smirk on his face. "Well I was thinking, this is just like the time me and my men ambushed a tribe of sand benders in the desert. They were guarding the only source of water for miles, and we where thirsty . We fashioned a catapult out of a a tree, and launched our water benders into the water!" he said raising his arms for emphasis.

Tuff and Ruff we're looking at him with stars in their eyes, "Please teach us everything you know." Tuff said in awe.

Bumi smirked but was cut off by his brother. "Bumi this is serious!" He said with frustration.

Before Tenzin could continue his rant, Hiccup had a idea, "Bumi, you are a genius!" he exclaimed, making everyone look at him strangely.

"Ok, I know I'm not the smartest guy here and even I think his plan doesn't make sense." Snotlout admitted, getting a snicker from Astrid.

Hiccup rolled his eyes, "Look, we have a flying bison, a bi-plane, and a few dragons. A attack from above doesn't sound like a bad idea right about now." he said, gesturing to Toothless, who gave a nod in response.

Kya shrugged, "Well it's not like there's any better plan we have right now." she said truthfully.

The twins gave one another a high five, "Yes! We get to blow stuff up!" the two shouted in triumph, much to the group's distain.

"Ok, we're gonna need to spilt up into two groups." Hiccup said, turning to Astrid and the riders, "You guys are going to be the distraction along with the other Vikings. Astrid's in charge of you guys." he explained.

"What! Why?" Snotlout asked irritably. Astrid took his wrist and bent it, making him fall to the ground with a girlish shriek and the rest of the group wincing.

"That's why. She's the only one who can handle you without getting a headache." Hiccup explained simply. "The rest of us will take care of Unaluq." he finished, getting nods out of the group.

"This is ingenious." Hiccup said as he examined the remote controlled explosives. The idea that you could control something with just the push if a button is something that's just incredible!

He, Bolin, and Asami had gone below the deck of the ship to get gear ready for the battle, Hiccup wanted to come down mainly to see what Mako was talking about when he told him about the case he was working. He'd be living if he said Lu and Gaang didn't get what they had coming to them.

"Yeah, but your not the one who's getting this strapped into your back." Bolin said with anxiousness in his voice. He wasn't exactly comfortable strapping things that explode to him, and to be fair who would.

Well maybe the twins...

"Oh don't worry Bolin, they're made to only blow when you press the buttons ontop of them." Asami explained as she readied the biplane with safety straps. Bolin experimentally pressed down on the button which began to flash red.

Hiccup's eyes widened and his jaw dropped, "BOLIN ! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING!?" Hiccup asked in a high pitched voice.

The fellow earth bender rolled his eyes, "Relax, it's got a kill switch right her-" he stopped when he didn't see anything but the button on the slab of rock with the explosive below it. "Uhhhh, would you excuse me for a second?" he asked as he rushed up the stairs to throw the thing overboard while Asami and Hiccup shook their heads.

"He's just a big lovable guy. But sometimes he just worried me." Asami said. Earning a nod from Hiccup as the sound of a wet 'BANG!' was heard.

"So as soon as we depart, hit the blockade with everything you got, that should draw enough of the soldiers away from the sprit portal to make our attack quick." Hiccup explained to his father on the ship's deck.

Stoick nodded, "Divide and conquer, usually works. And they'll think that we're the only forces here, won't expect you lot to surprise them then." Stouck surmised as he looked on the horizon, the blockade just peaking over the water.

Hiccup shrugged, "Pretty much. Hopefully this will be over before we know it." he said, as they began their walk back to the side of the yacht where Stoick's ship was. "I just wish we had more dragons to help us out." Hiccup said in a low voice.

Stoick let out a sigh, "You can't expect everyone to adjust to this new idea of yours quickly. Mildew was very vocal about it, well that and everything that bothers him. Part of the reason we moved him as far from the village as possible."

Hiccup looked at his father with surprise, "And he makes that track to the village just to wine and complain? The dedication is amazing." he said, making them both chuckle.

Stoick looked down at his son with pride, Hiccup has been doing many great things, but it was mostly without him in his life. And he wanted to change that, "So...you and that Korra girl eh?" he asked rather awkwardly, making Hiccup momentarily stumble.

"I-well-me-her...(sigh) yeah. Me and her." Hiccup said, his eyes focusing on his missing limb. He can't possibly know about what we did right?! The spirits aren't that cruel.

Stoick smiled under his beard, "I should have known. She's got a good heart, kind, a firery sprit," you got no idea, "and you two seem happy together." he said.

Hiccup felt his cheeks turn pink, "Yeah, she's the only one who really gets the whole 'Avatar Duties' concept." he explained.

Stoick gave him a curious look, "Hiccup. Have you...ever thought about your heritage?" he asked, making the teen look at him with confusion. Stoick rolled his eyes, "Hiccup I'm talking about the chieftain. You are my son, and as heir, you'll be the one the elders will see as the most qualified." Stoick explained.

Hiccup's eyes widened, sure he was second in command at the Police in Republic City. But taking care of casework is completely different than a whole freaking village! "Dad I'm the Avatar, both me and Korra's job is to bring peace and order to the world. In all honestly...I may need to put the world before the tribe." he said with a bit of nervousness.

Stoick let the news sunk in before letting out a sigh, "The village will need a chief once I'm gone." Hiccup looked down at the ground, feeling that he had disappointed the man. Stoick put a hand on his son's shoulder, making him look up, "But the world should come first." he said, making Hiccup smile in understanding.

"Stay safe son." Stoick said as he went to get on his boat.

"You too dad." Hiccup called back, getting a nod from the man as he disembarked from the large ship.

"So...you nervous too?" Korra asked Hiccup as he adjusted the new tail designed for Toothless, now with fireproof coating.

He gave her a smirk over his shoulder, "Me? Nervous? Oh definitely." he said, earning a smile from Korra.

"Well at least you didn't hit your head when you fell out of the sky." Korra chided as she sat down beside him. She laid her head on his shoulder as he worked, watching as Hiccup's hands handled the prosthetic Tail with the upmost care.

"Oh that's definitely reassuring Korra." he said sarcastically, getting a chuckle from the water bender. Hiccup gave her a smile, "Hey...we'll get through this, we always do." he said reassuringly as he clasped his hand in hers.

Korra smiled at her boyfriend's optimism, "Yea. To be honest I kinda miss fighting Amon." she said as Hiccup fastened the newly upgraded tail to Toothless's tail. The drain lifted the prosthetic to inspect and gave a growl of approval.

Hiccup stood and helped Korra up, "I'm not gonna lie, the thought has crossed my mind." he said half-seriously. "I mean we had the United Forces backing us up then, and Riko's..."

"Sitting on his ass." Korra finished as the two faced one another.

Hiccup smiled, "Your words, not mine." he stated, making her roll her eyes as he went over to Toothless's saddlebag, "I wanted to give these to you before I left for Berk but I didn't have time to finish them." he said as he got a wooden box out of the bag and walked over to a curious Korra.

"What is it?" she asked with a raised eyebrow as Hiccup handed her the box.

"Open it." Hiccup commanded lightly. Korra shrugged and opened the box, she let out a gasp.

Inside the box were two aqua blue gauntlets, a white line went across the middle, and in the center was the Watertribe symbol. "Hiccup...they're beautiful!" she said as she put one of them on.

Hiccup smiled, "It also has a surprise." he said, making a come motion with his hand, water came out from a small exit in the gauntlet just as his did. Korra was awestruck by it.

She enclosed him in a hug with a smile, "I love it!" she said as she pulled away and met his lips. Hiccup his arms wrapped around her while he smiled against his lips.

When they pulled away, Korra gave him a sweet smile, "Thanks dragon boy." she said as she gave him another peck on the lips.

Hiccup just smiled, "Anything for Milady."

As soon as team Avatar had left the ground the attack begun. Hiccup had filled Toothless's sacks with Zipplebombs, Bolin and Mako had explosives as well but we're more accurate than his.

"This is terrifying!" Bolin shouted over the winds, it wasn't like flying was dangerous enough already, but hanging on the wing of a small airplane just adds to the danger that Hiccup has grown used to.

"Just relax, that strap isn't gonna let you go anytime soon." Hiccup shouted over reassuringly. Bolin seemed to relax but was still stressed visibly.

As the three figures broke through the clouds, Toothless and Oogi reared to a halt, staying behind the cloud line while the biplane flew over towards the spirit portal.

The ground forces were not as strong as they expected.

"Ok. That was not foreseen." Hiccup muttered as the water benders below launched their attack. Thinking fast, Hiccup clicked the tail into dive position as Toothless let out a roar.

Oogi flew higher, avoiding the ice shards all together. Hiccup pulled up as he neared the ground, Toothless letting out a plasma blast at one if the mechs that guarded the portal to the sprit world, knocking it out of commission.

Hiccup pulled up as he reached the wall surrounding the spirit portal.

That was a mistake.

Flying dark spirits was a new one for Hiccup. Toothless was fast enough to doge most of them but a lucky one clung to his tail, making them fall back down towards the defensive wall surrounding the forest. "No hitchhikers buddy!" Hiccup said as he blasted the sprit off the dragon.

Toothless leveled out as they brushed past the ground, ending another plasma blast at the ground troops, "Sorry!" Hiccup shouted as he flew by the unconscious soldiers.

Hiccup looked down to see Bolin launching the explosives down at the defending forces. A few seconds later, the the bombs exploded in a cloud of smoke. "As the twins would say, let's join the bomb squad." Hiccup said, Toothless rolled his eyes, "Yea that was bad. Just fly us towards the portal I got a idea." he said as he readied the bag of Zipplebombs.

As he flew towards the wall, he let the bag slip off the side of Toothless and fall to the ground in front of the wall, a explosion rang out a moment later as Toothless blasted another dark sprit.

Hiccup looked up to Oogi to see all matter of sprits clinging onto him, "Hang on guys!" Hiccup shouted as he zoomed towards his friends in peril. As he flew towards the bison, Hiccup charged up a blast of air in his hand and unleashed it as he flew by.

"Thanks Hiccup!" Kya shouted over as he flew away.

Hiccup was about to call back when he saw the biplane carrying Asami, Mako, and Bolin go down. "No!" Hiccup shouted as he chased after them. The airship hit the ground hard, but the occupants were thankfully unharmed. Before Hiccup could let out a sigh of relief, a bolas wrapped around Toothless tail!

The two fell to the ground with a thud, "Sure! Why not! Right after I make the tail fireproof you just go and break it!" Hiccup shouted as he undid the safety straps on Toothless's harness.

Southern troops surrounded the Avatar, six in total, "Of course. Why not." Hiccup said as he readied himself. The Watertribe soldiers readied themselves for attack , two of the drew water from the ground and shot them at him. Hiccup parried the water away and retaliated with with a kick to the ground, causing a spike of rock with a blunt end to erupt from the ground and knock one of the water benders away.

The other four, armed with spears and shields to attack, Toothless punched onto one and knocked another over with his tail. One of the soldiers jabbed their spears towards Toothless, thankfully his skin was hard enough to just agitate the Night Fury.

Hiccup drew water from the ground and made a large water whip and snapped it at the one who attacked his longtime friend, knocking him out as he hit the ground.

The last three was dispatched with a grounded air swipe. Knocking them out of commission, "That is my dragon! Good job bud!" Hiccup said, pointing to his dragon, who gave celebratory roar in response.

Then the tank came around, nearly knocking the duo down. Hiccup could only watch as the Tank ran into tents and anything else that was upright. Hiccup was about to try and stop it with earth bending but two of the guards he had knocked down had begun to rise up.

"What the hell?" Mako asked as he, his brother and Asami joined the confused avatar. It was a strange sight to behold after all.

Hiccup shrugged, "Don't look at me, I'm as confused as you are." he said as the tank knocked down a small platoon of guards

"Should we do something? Because that thing is actually helping us do our work pretty well right now." Bolin said.

Hiccup sighed, "Your probably right. Bolin could you give me a hand?" Hiccup asked the fellow earth bender as the tank began to circle back around.

Before the two could act, the guards began to get back up, as the members of Team Avatar readied to fight, the pilot from the tank ejected and slid on the snow and ice into the guards, causing them to crash.

"Bumi!? H-how did?" Hiccup asked with obvious confusion. Last he saw him, he was on Oogi's back. But then again he didn't see him when he got those dark sprits off Oogi.

Speaking of whom, landed beside them, "Bumi! How on earth did you do that?" Tenzin asked his brother with awe in his voice. The rest of the group joined him on the ground, seeing if the eldest of Aang's children was well.

The former commander pointed behind Hiccup and the group, "Uhh, we should probably take care if that before I tell you guys." the group turned to see a line of battle mechs closing in on the rebellious Team Avatar.

The group readied themselves to fight, Toothless letting out a ear shattering roar as the remainder of the southern troops gathered in front of the mechs, "I hate how it's never easy." Korra muttered as she drew water from her gauntlets.

Before the troops could charge, a green blur shot over the mechs, letting a green gas fall from the sky, looking up, Team Avatar saw the dragon riders joining the fight as the second Zippleback head lit the gas, causing the mechs to tumble over the explosion rang out.

Bolin gave a nod to Hiccup and the two launched themselves into the air and bring their legs crashing down onto the ground, causing the earth to shatter beneath the tribesmen. Overhead, Astrid flew by on Stormfly and launched precise spikes at the men who were on the ground, trapping them in place.

Korra and the others charged forward, Mako ducking down a blast of water and giving a few quick jabs of fire in response.

Korra used the water to slice a spear that one guard had and froze his lower body in place. She was beginning to love the gauntlets that her boyfriend made for her.

Asami ducked under a swipe of water that one of the guards launched at her, before she could retaliate, a large boy on a larger dragon fell atop the solider. The husky boy rubbed the Gronke between her ears, "Good girl Meatlug." he said, making Asami smile at the affection to the beast.

As the rest of the dragons landed, the other guards raised their hands in surrender, opting not to combat the great dragons. "I didn't come down here for this." One muttered.

Korra strode over to one and grabbed his collar, "Where's Unalauq?" she said with a small growl.

"P-p-probably his tent." the warrior replied with fear. A angry Avatar isn't something anyone wants to be in front of.

"Which one is his tent?" she asked.

Bolin gave her a tap on the shoulder, "Probably that one. The only one that's still standing." he said , pointing to the biggest one that remained.

Korra released the man and turned to her boyfriend, "You ready for this ?" she asked. Hiccup nodded as the group made their way towards the hug, lacing the dragon riders to take care of the warriors.

"Anyone got any rope?" Astrid asked.

Team Hiccup and Korra stood on either side of the tent, Korra looked over to Hiccup and gave him a nod, everyone else had surrounded the tent if Unaluaq decided to make a break for it.

The two entered the tent, fire and air in hand. "Dad!" Korra exclaimed when she saw the man tired to the pole holding up the tent. He was badly beaten but still alive.

The rightful chief cracked open his eyes, "Korra...your safe." he said with relief as the two Avatars came to his side. Korra drew water and begin to heal him as Hiccup worked on the restraints.

"Dad c where's Unalauq?" Korra asked, wanting to get some payback on the man you hurt her father.

"He came by to gloat on how the new world order is coming. He's probably at the sprit portal." Tonraq explained.

Korra looked down at the ground, "Dad I'm so sorry that-"

"Korra, this isn't your fault. My brother is a lost cause, you two must stop him." he interrupted as Hiccup got the restraints off him.

Hiccup along with Korra helped him onto his feet, "We will sir. Don't worry, we both want a shot at him." Hiccup answered. Tonraq smiled, he was starting to like the boy.

...

"What part of 'Stay with the fleet' didn't you guys get?" Hiccup asked as they made their way to the portal. The riders had taken care of the guards and put then in Tonraq's place.

Astrid pointed to the twins, "They heard all the noise you were making and wanted to join in the fun." she explained.

Ruff shrugged, "You can't expect us to stay out of a good fireshow." she said with a shrug.

Tuff nodded, "It was the most epic thing we've seen. Well, so far that is." he added as Hiccup ran a hand down his face.

The dragons were awaiting their masters by the portal, the forest exposed by the hole the Zipplebombs made. Kiera stood in front of everyone, "Ok, here's what we're going to do." she turned to the riders, "You guys are in charge of making sure no more dark sprits get into the portal, blast whatever comes your way." The twins high fives at that.

Korra gave Hiccup a pittyful look when he looked down at the ground, "Tenzin, Bumi, and Kya will look for Jinora. Asami, you need to get my dad to Katara, take Oogi." she said, the Sato nodded and helped Tonraq into the Sky Bison.

"The rest of us will distract Unalauq while me and Hiccup work on the Portal." she said.

"Wait! Worst case scenario, something happens to you and Hiccup and we get tapped on the wrong side of the Sprit portal. What then?" Bolin asked, feeling as though the subject needed to be addressed.

Hiccup shrugged, "Come on, he can't take us both down. Odds of that happening are pretty small." He said, reassuring the group. Hiccup liked at Toothless by his side, "Since your temporarily grounded bud, stay here and hold down the fort. Okay?" he asked.

His dragon gave him a luck for good luck, "Aaannnd I need to clean this off now. Great." He said, getting a well earn chuckle out of most of the group.

Korra led the charge to the sprit portal. Team Avatar fallowing her lead.

Hiccup and the others have never been to the sprit world. To say it looked weird was a understatement, "Well don't stand there gawking we got a job to do!" Korra shouted, getting everyone's attention.

Hiccup and Korra ran as fast as they could across the long ice field to the other portal, passing the tree of time as they did so, "So, uh, how do I exactly close a Sprit Portal?" Hiccup asked.

Korra shrugged, "Just go into the Avatar State and go with the flow. Works for me." she explained.

"Oh yeah, very reassuring." Hiccup stated making Korra slug his arm.

As the two reached the other portal, he and Korra went into the Avatar state and pressed their hands to the bean of light ruminating from the ground as the two brothers dueled with Ubalauq.

Him the two Avatars poured all that they had into sealing it, it was right down to the wire. This needed to happen now or never.

Just as the sprit portal began to close, it happened.

Harmonic Convergence. The energy the Portal created blew the two Avatars away, Korra's wolf tail became undone and Hiccup's Armor began to crack.

It was too late. Vaatu was free.
