RW10

The Frozen Rose

By: Vicatron

The red cape flapped in the cold night air, its wearer not caring that she would get sick. The slow pace she walked brought her no happiness, for there was no more happiness left in the world. Her friends no longer brought her comfort, roses no longer smelled sweet, food was bland and everything had lost its color.

She readjusted Crescent Rose on her shoulder, she had checked and double checked to make sure that Crescent Rose was fixed and all parts worked functionally. It was badly damaged after the battle, she even had to have help in finding replacement parts and fixing it.

Torchwick's attack on Beacon was spontaneous and unpredicted. Injuries were in the hundreds while casualties were around thirty on both sides, but it was only one casualty that mattered to her. She let her tears flow silently as they held the funeral, and after she was no longer a young girl, she was Retribution.

The dirty street she walked down was splattered with patched of graffiti, one in every three streetlights was broken, and she was only seven blocks away from the warehouse where Torchwick and his men were hiding. The criminal who always wore a suit, hiding in a warehouse on the run down section of town, a great hiding place for a man of his stature.

Torchwick's life would end by her hands alone and no one else's. She would end his life as he ended hers, he will know the pain of despair and the absence of hope.

Two blocks away and she could see two sentries right out the door of the warehouse, she impaled the street with Crescent Rose and took two shots , they fell to the ground lifeless. Pulling Crescent Rose from the ground she rushed the warehouse and tore a few guards that came out to check the noise in half. The battle had begun and she would descend upon them as the grim reaper.

She rested her back against the wall as her legs gave out, her body slid to the ground leaving a trail of blood on the wall. Torchwick lay dead feet away along with all his men, she could rest now.

She lowered her red hood and let her hair flow, her once beautiful white hair now stained with blood. Weiss brought her hand to her chest before looking at it also covered in blood, her breaths were labored as blood filled her lungs. She was tired, sleep was a welcome thought. Weiss closed her eyes and laid there, her body heavy.

Weiss felt a warm hand caress her cheek, slowly she opened her eyes and stared in disbelief before asking with a teary voice. "Ruby?"

"It's okay Weiss, you can cry, I'll hold you till you're done." Ruby smiled as her arms wrapped around Weiss. And she did, she cried out her pain, her anger, her grief, she cried it all out in Ruby's comforting embrace.

"It's time to go Weiss, you can't stay in this world anymore. Don't worry, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poor, through life and past death, I'll be with you." And with that Ruby leaned down and kissed Weiss.

And with that they went to the next world, hand in hand.

Author's Note: This story literally came from nowhere, I got the idea, typed it in my 'RWBY ideas' Notepad document, went back to what I was doing for two minutes, then started writing it. I don't know why I wanted Weiss to wield Crescent Rose into battle, but I did. Anyway can't wait for the RWBY Volume 1 Blu-Ray since I going to buy PS4, it will be my first Blu-Ray disk player. So thanks to Rooster Teeth and Monty Oum for creating RWBY.

Update 8-27-14: Noticed that there was a word missing so I added it. (It was the word 'one' in the first half of the story.
