Chapter 32: Oh Deer!

'Troublesome.'
He watched as his girlfriend slowly approached the deer, hand outstretched and eager to rub the fluffy appendages attached to the creature's head.
He sighed.
"Shhhh." She shushed him.
"Kagome." He said, shoulders slouching as she once again shushed him.
He watched her from their picnic blanket, as she got steadily closer to the grazing animal. She was approximately two metres away from stroking the deer, when it finally acknowledged her, lazily lifting its head to look at her, mouth full of grass.
He could see her hold in a squeal of delight. "Hey there beautiful." She cooed gently, "What a good boy you are~." The deer flicked its tail and right ear, the one Kagome was reaching towards.
Shikamaru shook his head and stared at a random tree in the distance. She'd been approaching the deer for about five minutes now and this was supposed to be their 'romantic getaway', a chance to be alone, without any interruptions from missions or a certain blonde-haired, knuckle-headed shinobi.
He closed his eyes. 'Troublesome indeed.'
"AHHHH!"
He jumped in surprise from the sudden scream, looking over at Kagome to see what had happened.
His eye twitched as her found the deer nuzzling her cheek as she stroked its neck, snout and ears. Her affinity for animals amazed him. It even licked her nose!
"Kagooomeeee~!" He whined.
She barely turned to face him. "What?"
She shivered as she felt a shadow snake its way up her leg as Shikamaru began to walk towards her and the deer. "This day was supposed to be for us, to get away from all of the distractions in the village." His voice was low, seductive. "Come sit back down and enjoy this time with me."
Kagome kept patting the deer, turning away from Shikamaru once more. "Just a little longer." She brushed him off. She gasped as she suddenly felt his hands on her waist, the deer flinching, frightened by the quick change in distance between them.
"No. Now." He whispered, the hair on her neck rising as he nibbled on her earlobe.
Just as Kagome went to reply, they heard a snort, and the sound of a hoof dragging across the ground. They both looked up to see the deer looking straight at Shikamaru, ready to charge.
"Oh dear."
'Oh dear, indeed.'

A/N: My god it's been forever! WOW! Sorry it's been so long (and the chapter's so short) but with studying full-time at uni, and working overnights part-time, all of my stories have just been sitting on my laptop. I haven't finished watching Shippuuden yet and am still unsure whether or not I'll watch Boruto, so I might try to post one of my other stories (eventually)!
