Epilogue

With her sunglasses, 3-inch high heels and red lipstick on, May stepped down the stairs with cameras and journalists surrounding her. She flashed emotionless, fake smiles around to the paparazzi and fans before getting into the back of a shiny black car.

"Where would you like to go, ma'am?" the chauffer asked, gazing at the brunette through the rear-view mirror.

May pushed up her sunglasses, bringing out her phone. "Home," she replied, not bothering to look at the driver as she spoke. She tapped at her new phone, her perfectly manicured nails making an irritating noise, ignoring the many missed calls she had from her bandmates.

It had been two months since Eye of the Liepard's loss in Kalosian Idol, but miraculously were just as, if not more, famous than the winner.

Very soon after the show was complete, they were offered a contract with one of the world's largest music industries from Unova. They had gotten their own manager, already had tours planning and began making their own soon-to-be-released album.

In other words, the four girls created an inspiring, famous, success story which touched hearts around the globe.

And not just that, but they'd defeated the villain who'd been after them for their whole life – for the final time. By being successful, they had thwarted his plans once more.

Half an hour later, the shiny black car pulled into the driveway of May's (and her friends') home, the large gate automatically opening with the press of a remote button.

The brunette stepped out as the car stopped in front of the large doors, a series of stairs ahead of her.

"Thank you," she said sharply to the chauffer, shutting the door of the car swiftly. The brunette headed up the small steps, her heels clattering from the impact. After unlocking the door, she opened it and entered.

"I'm home," she called out, shutting the large door behind her. She raised an eyebrow, after not receiving any replies.

The curious brunette narrowed her eyes, heading up the stairs after checking the lounge room. She checked each room, before heading back downstairs to check the kitchen. Her face scrunched into a frown as she spotted a note on the bench.

She headed over, picking up the piece of paper in her hands. Her sapphire eyes scanned through the neat writing, widening as they did so.

May,

We've tried calling you but you don't pick up. Sorry, but we had to leave without you.

It's the anniversary of us forming our band, remember? We planned to go out.

Anyway, if you get this in time, we'll be at the Nimbasa Amusement Park.

-Dawn, Misty & Leaf

"Uh-oh," May whispered to herself.

It was true, they did plan it. But May had been extremely busy over the week, attending interviews every now and then, meet 'n' greets and so on. The rest of her band refused to go to many of them, but May absolutely had to attend each and every one if possible.

In other words, she was quite career-obsessed. She felt she had nothing else.

And that obsession also caused her to forget one of the most important days for her friends. Their anniversary.

As fast as possible, she threw on her shoes and rushed out the door.

"Go to Nimbasa Amusement Park, quickly!" the exasperated celebrity said, launching herself into the car. "Hurry!"

The chauffer was taken aback, but nodded anyway. He started up the car, steering out of the gates. "As you wish."

May rubbed her temples, groaning. She knew her friends were extremely annoyed with her, and felt betrayed. Even so, she felt she had an independence to do what she wanted because her ideals were different.

After what seemed like forever, the car stopped in front of bright, bustling lights. They had finally reached the amusement park. May stepped out, her over-sized sunglasses serving as the only disguise. She made her way through the crowds, tying her hair up into a ponytail as she did so.

Her royal blue eyes' scanning paid off, as she spotted a glimpse of Misty's fiery red hair. After letting out a relieved sigh, she spotted her. Of course, her three friends were slightly disguised so the public wouldn't bother them.

"Hey, guys!" May called out, running to them. She stopped, leaning on her knees and panting. "I am so sorry I forgot, I really-"

"Look who decided to show up," Leaf said bitterly, interrupting May. She had her hands on her hips, and her eyebrows raised.

May opened her mouth to speak, but was cut off again by Misty.

"Where were you? Are your interviews and fans really more important than us?" she said sharply, her sea-green eyes narrowed. "Really, May. This is the third time you've chosen them over us."

Dawn seemed less hostile than the other two, conflicted by both sides. She looked up, frowning at the two angry band members.

"Guys, don't be so hard on her."

Leaf pursed her lips, folding her arms. Then, she sighed. It seemed as if the sigh released all her hostility. "Okay, May. We all love you, we really do. But you have to step up your game if you want us to stay together."

May's eyelids lowered, and she turned to look at the ground. She sighed, looking back up with a sad smile. "I'll try."

"Good," Misty joined, a small smile on her face. It soon turned to an apologetic expression. "By the way, sorry for snapping at you."

The brunette chuckled, waving her hand dismissively. "Aha, it's fine Misty. I deserved it."

"So," Dawn began, grinning. She gazed upwards towards the largest rollercoaster in the world, her friends' gazes following. "What do say on a rollercoaster ride?"

Beep… Beep… Beep…

Where am I?

Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.

Who… Who am I?

The noises surrounding were blurred, he could only hear muffled noises. A few moments later, his hearing cleared and could listen to the voices surrounding him. His sight was blank, he could see nothing.

There were plenty of voices, most seemed very hurried. They seemed to be rushing around the room, and slowly hushed.

Soon, his sight had returned. Blurry, but there. Eyelids opened, revealing dragon-like emerald eyes.

He saw faces peering at him, their eyes widening.

"He's awake," a female with chocolate brown eyes breathed, a smile slowly appearing on her face. She snapped out of her daze, turning to her assistant. "Go get the water, and everything necessary."

Dr. Conway nodded, following his orders and heading out of the room to do what he was told.

The awoken patient feebly tried to sit up, hardly managing to do so. He buried his hands in his face, not being able to recall anything. Then, he looked up, making eye contact with the doctor.

"Who are you?" he asked, narrowing his eyes.

The woman smiled reassuringly. She went to the side of the room, dragging a chair along with her to the side of the bed. She took a seat, taking one of his hands. He flinched, and pulled it away.

"I'm Dr. Jessica Hayman, but you may call me Jess," she introduced to the amnesic patient. She put on a sad look, sighing. "At least, that's what you used to call me."

He raised a brow at her second sentence. "I used to call you?"

The dark-haired girl nodded, playing innocent. "Indeed, I was your doctor. I saved your life, Drew Hayden. The other doctors would've given up hope and taken you off life support, but I knew you would pull through."

She smiled sadly, looking into his eyes. "We have a connection, more than just friends. I can make you remember it, if you would like."

Drew stared at her for a few moments, distrusting. He narrowed his eyes, shaking his head. "No, no. I don't know you, I don't have any feelings for you," he said, entirely honest. "I have them, but I don't think it's you…"

She smiled, understanding. "That's another effect of amnesia." She sighed, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "I'll be honest. You did have one you dearly cared about, but she's moved on from you. I suggest you do the same."

"Who is she?" he said sharply, narrowing his eyes once more. "I need to know. Let me talk to her."

"As you wish," she replied with a nod, turning around. Then, she smirked. After all, she did have it all planned out.

Dark, onyx eyes stared up at the sky. They gazed up at the dark night sky, admiring the millions of silver stars scattered across it.

"What are you doing out on the veranda again?" a voice came from behind. It was Dawn. "Lemme guess, star-gazing again?"

"You know me too well," Paul replied, semi-sarcastically as the bluenette leaned on the railing beside him, following his gaze. He sighed, turning to look at her. "Troublesome?"

The girl deadpanned, not bothering to yell. "You still call me that?"

"What do you see in me?" he asked, ignoring her completely. "I tried to kill you, and I almost did."

She chuckled as she turned to him, smiling brightly. "Maybe I'm just into sadistic guys," she said, shrugging as she smirked cheekily. "What about me? I almost got you killed. Twice, or more."

The ex-assassin raised an eyebrow, a slight smirk on his face. "Maybe I'm just into troublesome girls."

And with that, he sealed the deal. Literally.

Leaf was nestled comfortably on a bed, her reading glasses equipped as she skimmed through a novel.

Her concentration was broken by a familiar spiky-haired band member who entered the room. He raised a brow, surprised.

"I don't mind you in my room," he began, "but I never said you could be a nerd in my room."

"Reading is not nerdy," Leaf rolled her eyes, removing her glasses. She patted the spot next to her, gesturing for him to come over. "And hypocritical much, Mr. Hacker?"

Gary smirked, gladly taking the seat next to her. "I'm smart, but I'm not a nerd. Unlike you, Leaf Greene," he teased, putting on her glasses.

"Give those back!" she growled, glaring at him. Then, she sighed, falling back. "I'm too tired for this. Sometimes I really want to go back to my physics class in school instead of having paparazzi stalk me everywhere I go."

He took the glasses off, and lay next to her. "That's the life of a celebrity, Leafy." He sat up, smiling. "At least they'll never know what we've really been through..."

Leaf did the same, but with a typical Drew smirk.

"But they will know, by tomorrow, that our chemistry is a lot more than just science."

May giggled at the antics of her two friends. Ash had come over, he was planning to write a song with Misty.

"-but apple rhymes with pineapple!"

"If you say that one more time, I will bash your pineapple in with my mallet."

Ash's eyes widened, his innocent eyes puppy-like. "But wouldn't that kill me? I didn't think you were so mean, Mist."

Misty tried to snap, but as much as she tried, she couldn't bring herself to do it. She huffed, turning away.

"Ha! Gotcha!" he exclaimed, his laughter filling the room.

May winced at the sound of impact that came next, after the sound of Ash wailing in pain. She bit her lip, standing up and leaving. It wasn't like they would notice, anyway.

The lonely brunette reached her room, shutting the door behind her. She collapsed on the bed, bringing out her phone. She didn't bother going through her social media accounts, which are what usually made her feel better.

Instead, she went on her camera roll and scrolled up to photos taken months and months before. She reached the ones she was looking for, breathing sharply. A tear spilled out of her eye, rolling down her cheek.

They were photos of her and Drew, smiling (and smirking) like there was nothing that could go wrong. Many times she had tried to delete them, but could never bring herself to do it.

She breathed in deeply, trying to stop the tears.

Suddenly, the photo on her phone screen was replaced by a number as her the phone began ringing. Her tear-glossy eyes scanned the number, not recognising it. Nevertheless, she answered the call.

"Hello?" she said, trying her best to make it sound like she hadn't been crying.

"May! It's me, Jess."

The brunette immediately sat up straight. "Oh, hey, Jess. What's up?"

"I have wonderful news for you," came Jess' voice from the phone. "I understand you have an extremely busy life, but I thought I should let you know.

"It's Drew, he's awake."

May's eyes widened, she was lost for words. The memories flashed through her mind, and she was speechless for a few moments.

"That's wonderful," she barely managed to say without her voice breaking. The tears continued flowing, and she tried to hold in her sobs.

"Unfortunately, he's suffering from amnesia. He most likely will eventually remember faces and other things, but his complete memory may never return. Would you like to speak with him?"

Flashes of her parents, aunt, uncle and Wally flashed through her mind, and the tears just wouldn't stop. She tried to say yes, but the words just wouldn't come out.

"May? Do you want to speak with him?"

"No," she hardly managed to say without breaking down completely. Her voice wavered. "I don't."

"Alright. I apologise for bothering you, and feel free to come visit anytime."

May cut the call, the happy photos of her and Drew appearing on the screen again. She let out a pained wail, falling face-first back onto her bed. The pain was silent on the outside, but more evident than even a stab wound on the inside.

Assassin or not, I loved you. I really did.

Fin.

A/N Woah. Well, that's a wrap... Thank you all so much for all the reviews, favs, follows and just anyone who even read this at all. I would not have finished this without you! This was my first ever story on Fanfiction, and I'm so glad I started it. It's currently being re-written, the earlier chapters at least. It'll still be the same stuff, but better written.

Special mention to schoolmouse33 and Contestshipper16 who reviewed every single chapter from the very beginning! :D

Sad ending, yes, please don't murder me (I wrote it while listening to the second chorus of Fix You- Coldplay T-T). For that Ikari bit, if you remember from very early in the story, Paul loved star-gazing.

I will make it up to you in the sequel (which will be named Ghosts of the Liepard), which I will post sometime in the next week or two. Follow/alert me, or just check back for it on my profile. The summary is on my profile, for those who want to see what it'll be about. Please drop a review, if you have the time! :)

Once again, thank you so much for reading Eye of the Liepard and I hope to see you soon at Ghosts of the Liepard!
