Now, for a little announcement, this marks the end of my short chapters. My chapters should be back to their usual length since I've managed to get through all of my stories from around March. But this also means that it will take me a little longer to update.

Also, if you have any burning questions about any of my stories, send me a PM. It'll be easier for me to answer them that way.

Anyway, I don't want to keep you here for too long, so enjoy the story!

Kakashi stepped inside the Hokage's office. The Third was the only one who was inside. Kakashi had arrived hours later than the other Jonins. But he knew that he wouldn't be faulted for his tardiness. He could tell that the Hokage was very curious on gaining information on one of his students. It wasn't hard to guess which one it was.

The former Anbu shut the door behind him. The Hokage activated the privacy seals in the room. He didn't want anyone eavesdropping on their conversation.

"Kakashi, report. How did it go?"

"They passed the test, but just barely." He reported out.

"Really? How far off were we in our estimation of their skills?" The old man asked. Prior to the bell test, the two of them discussed how well each of them would do. This assessment was based on their academy grades, their behavior around their peers, and some surveillance of them outside of the academy. It also involved gaining information on their background.

"It went exactly like you predicted….Except for one person. Hinata, she didn't participate at all during the test. She opted to hide somewhere, at least that's what she told me."

Sarutobi raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean? Where was she hiding, and why did she not participate? You did tell them that their ninja careers were on the line, right?"

"Of course I did. But Hinata didn't care in the least bit. I have reason to suspect that she knows about how much of a threat she poses to the village as a civilian. As for your earlier questions, I'm not sure where she went. I couldn't sense her anywhere in the training ground. Not only that, but when she did reappear, she had a bag of cinnamon buns that was obviously purchased from a vender in the village." Kakashi answered.

"You couldn't sense her? Not even a little bit?"

Kakashi shook his head. "No, it's obvious that she left the training field. Though I'm not sure how she managed to do this while completely avoiding me. Perhaps my skills are becoming rusty."

"No, that's not it." Sarutobi assured him. "Hinata has completely vanished before on numerous other occasions. She's only appeared when she wants to be found. I've had teams of Anbu follow her, and they're still not sure on where she goes."

"Really? Isn't that the same skill that Naruto has?" Kakashi inquired. In the files he's read about the young blonde, he was also extremely talented at leaving without a trace. It's why his pranks were always so successful. He could completely vanish.

Hiruzen shook his head solemnly. "It's not the same. We've been able to locate him every single time. Plus, it's always been obvious as to what he's been doing. With the young Hyuuga, her absences are a complete mystery. Not only that, but she's proved herself to be dangerous. She has a complete and utter lack of regard for another person's life and virtually no loyalty to anyone but herself. To put it in short, I trust Naruto, but I don't trust her."

"I understand. I will be sure to keep a close eye on her and I'll try to keep her away from Naruto."

"No!" The firmness in the Hokage's voice shocked Kakashi. "You must not do that! She is a wild card, and I have trouble determining what she will do next! But, I'm hoping that she will be able to learn to trust her teammates and you. If she finds that you're following her, and invading her privacy, she won't trust you. That cannot happen. She's a ninja, and that means she will have missions that will require her to visit other villages. If she doesn't trust you, she could easily slip away and remain in that particular village. I have no doubt that she could be a very powerful ally, or a very powerful enemy. I need you to help prevent the latter."

"So you want me to be like a….Father figure to her. Is that right?" The masked man wasn't too sure about this. He doubted he would have the ability to properly bond with the young girl.

"We both know that her relationship with her clan is nonexistent, and the one with her father is nonexistent. I'm hoping that you and her teammates will be able to form a family of sorts with her. If that translates into her looking up to you as a father, then yes. I need you to be a father figure for her." He explained.

"Alright…." Kakashi wasn't going to make any promises. He felt like the Hokage was setting him up for a colossal failure. "What about Naruto?"

Hiruzen lent back in his chair. "What do you mean?"

"I mean that the two of them are similar. Both have grown up to nothing more than scorn. Hinata with her clan, and then the villagers. And Naruto with the villagers. I figure that Hinata must've realized this. So what if she tries to influence him? I can imagine someone like her getting close to him for the sole purpose of convincing him to assist her in raising the body count of the villagers."

Kakashi was surprised when all Sarutobi did was chuckle at him.

"Oh Kakashi, my dear friend, you have nothing to fear! I have great faith in Naruto, and I know that he would never betray the village. He is a bright and sunny young lad, and I believe that he has the power to change people. I suspect that if those two are allowed to become close, then he could convince her to stop her wicked ways."

"Really?" Kakashi's tone was extremely doubtful. "No offense, but you really expect someone who graduated as dead last, and who spends most of his time pulling pranks to be able to change the mind of a someone who's not only killed, but enjoys it? I find that hard to believe."

"You don't understand Kakashi. I've been on this planet for many years, and I've learned that there's only so long someone can walk the path of darkness. Naruto has managed to completely avoid that path, despite his tough upbringings. I'm Naruto can lead Hinata down the right path. I have faith in him." It was then that the old Hokage smiled. It was a small warm smile, not unlike the one of a kind grandfather.

But his features suddenly turn grim.

"But, if you find that Naruto's behavior is straying down a similar path as Hinata's, let me know immediately. It is of the highest priority that you do. Do you understand?"

The masked ninja nodded his head. He detected the seriousness in his voice. "Of course."

"Good. I expect a full report of the test in detail. You're dismissed." The Third waved his hand, dismissing him.

Kakashi was gone a swirl of leaves the very next second.

Hiruzen thought he saw something on the floor a second after he vanished. But when he blinked, it was gone. He narrowed his eyes and broadened his senses. When he detected nothing out of the ordinary, he relaxed. He figured it must've been the lack of sleep getting to him. Paperwork had been keeping him up for long hours into the night. So, he shrugged it off and went back to work.

Hinata was seated at the top of a tree in the middle of the woods. Her back was against the base of the tree while both of her legs rested on the branch. She was holding in her hands a very classified file. She might be executed for treason if anyone caught her with this.

But, it's not like that really mattered to her.

'Let's see. He was the son of the White Fang. Who the fuck is that?'

'Oh, I know!'

'Who was he?'

'The White Fang was the father of Kakashi Hatake! There, you are very welcome you little dumbass.'

'Go fuck yourself with a stick.'

'Don't tempt me. And keep fucking reading! We need to know more about this asshole! Once we find enough dirt, we will fucking blackmail him! He will pay dearly for eavesdropping on us and the blonde dipshit!'

Hinata rolled her eyes and continued to flip through the file and gathering information.

Well, that's what she tried to do.

'Ugh, this is so boring! I don't want to read this anymore, nothing interesting happened in his life! Where are the rape, murder, and possible necrophilia? Those are the exciting stuff! Not this bullshit about him being a prodigy trained by the Fourth Hokag- Wait, what?'

'What? The Fourth? Are you shitting me? This guy was taught by that guy? Holy hell, how can we use this shit to our advantage?'

'I don't know! But I do know we should file this info away for later. One of you gals make sure to scribble this in my head somewhere for me to always remember it, alright?'

'One, two, three, not it!'

'Not it…'

'Not it….'

'I'll do it…'

'Or I can do it…'

'You all are children….'

'It's not that hard a task…'

'It's simple...'

'Oh so simple….'

'Very simple…..'

'Extremely-

'Alright, alright, we fucking get it! We're lazy bitches and you are over achievers! Just make sure this bitch remembers all of this nonsense. Her attention span isn't long enough for her to read this.'

'Yeah! So I am leaving the task of sorting through this info up to you!'

'Fine…'

'Alright….'

So be it…'

'You always do it anyway…'

'So lazy…'

'What a shame…'

'Whatever. I just don't want to deal with this right now.'

With the consent of her other voices, Hinata quickly flipped through the file. She only spent a few minutes on a page, knowing that each and every single word was being stored in her memory where her voices could retiree them. She would never understand why people perceived having voices in their head as a bad thing. It was so awesome for her! Life was so much easier when you didn't have to actively try to remember stuff!

Although she could easily retain all this knowledge if she tried. It would just take her a few hours, and a lot of focus. But she didn't feel like it was necessary to dedicate that much time and effort into gathering information about her supposed Sensei. He wasn't a direct threat to her, at least not at the moment. This was just a caution she was taking just incase he proved himself to be an enemy. But for now, he was in the clear.

Just then, Hinata felt a presence enter her. It was extremely dark and ominous, but it was welcomed without hesitation. It quickly became reattached to her own shadow, before then vanishing completely. It went back to its 'home', waiting to be called on once again by its master.

'Fucking finally! I thought that this thing would never get back to us!'

'Hey, be nice! We're miles away from the Hokage Tower. It would take any human or animal a long ass time to make it all the way here.'

'Are you seriously asking me to be sorry for scolding something that isn't even alive? And it can travel at the speed of darkness which may or may not surpass the speed of light! My main point is, it should've been here fucking quicker!'

'It's only been ten minutes, calm your tits. And don't forget what it used to be alive. But then it's life was cruelly taken away.'

'You're damn straight! It was taken by a sexy, murderous, blue haired vixen! Fuck, I remember the day like it was yesterday...'

'That's nice and all, but could you please focus? We need to scan the memories to see what that jackass and old ass were talking about.'

'Well we already know they talked about us so….'

'We aren't killing them. At least not yet. You need to stop jumping the fucking gun on murder. It isn't the solution to every problem you know.'

'I completely fucking disagree with everything you just said. There isn't a problem murder can't solve. Are you alone and looking for a partner? Kill a pretty single person, and then keep their bodies fresh for your entertainment. They can't leave you, or talk back! Looking for a nice home to spend the night in? Kill the owners and make yourself right at home inside their house! Looking for something to eat, but don't have any money? Simply pick a person off the streets and kill them! Their body will have enough proteins and vitamins to feed you for awhile! Looking for-'

Alright! I get it! You can keep talking but I will be looking at these memories. You can join me whenever you please.'

Without waiting for the voice to respond, Hinata accessed the memories and played them. She felt the other voices join in. They all listened to the private conversation between the Hokage and Kakashi. By the end of it, the other voices had slipped away. Hinata felt extremely amused and pissed at what she had just heard. The voice in her head was livid.

'HOW FUCKING DARE THEY! Who does that old shit stain think he is, telling us what to do? I will do whatever I damn well please when you want! And fucking really? A father figure? A family? Leading us away from the fucking darkness? What a bunch of bullshit!'

'I completely agree. Even if Kakashi and I became like father and daughter, I would still leave if I wanted to. I refuse to let anything or one, get in my way of completing my personal goals. The old man is a fool for thinking otherwise. But he does have a very valid point.'

'Bullcrap! What valid point could that senile old man possible have?'

'The stuff he said about our part. He's right, it' rare that anyone who walks the path of darkness to live very long. It's a road that has lead most people to their own self destruction.'

'So? We're part of the very few that can handle this road. You know this for a fucking fact.'

'But that could easily change.'

' Bullshi- Wait a fucking minute! Are you trying to denounce the darkness inside of you? Is that what your fucking doing?'

The voice became extremely sinister and vile by the last sentence. The amount of pure rage actually caused Hinata to flinch. A small amount of panic went through her body when her vision started to darken. She was starting to feel cold, and could feel her body going numb. There was an overwhelming tightness in her chest that restricted her breathing. It felt like the vengeful hand of death had her in a tight grip, and was slowly squeezing the life out of her.

'NO! NO! That's not what I'm saying at all! I already agreed to forever give up on the path of light! The darkness is where my loyalty lies, and where it will continue to lie until the day I take my last breath. You're taking things completely out of context!'

'Oh. I better fucking am taking them out of context. Because you fucking know what will happen if you ever try and leave this road.'

Hinata could breathe normally again as her vision returned to her. She took in large gulps of air as she tried to calm her heart down. Her close brush with her own shadows reminded her cruelly of her own fate.

'Oh shut the fuck up! You made the choice, and you knew the consequences! You have no one to fucking blame but yourself!'

'Shut up! I know that! I didn't say that I regretted it, but I could live without that sensation. I hate feeling how my victims died. It makes me feel bonded to them, and I certainly don't want to do that.'

'Sure, whatever you fucking say. So, what are we going to do about this?'

'I don't know. Act natural.'

'Really? So you're going to continue on with my plan as if you never heard this conversation? You're still going to bring the Uzumaki over to the dark side?'

'I never fully and totally agreed to do that anyway. Besides, of we fully and notably corrupt him now; we could be removed from the same team as him. And I don't want to put in all that effort only to have it stripped away from me. Not only that, but its going o take awhile to get through to him.'

'I call horseshit on that! We both felt the levels of hatred inside of him! He's just a time bomb waiting for the right master to set him off!'

'No, it's not that fucking simple! His hatred is buried deep, deep within him. It's buried to the point where it will not come out naturally. It has to be forced out, but it has to be done slowly. If it's all released at once, he could turn on us. I don't want that much hatred coming at us. It rivals our own'

'….'

'Hello?'

'I'm going to ignore that insult and move on. What do you plan on doing about him then? If his hatred is truly that strong, do you really want an opportunity like that to slip by? He would be a wonderful member to the group.

'I'm not really sure I want it to be released. I haven't really had a chance to sit down and fully analyze and take in his hatred. So we'll take it really slow, and see if there's any potential. If there isn't, we can forget about him completely. He'll be just another puppet for the fucking village to use when it pleases.'

'And if there is potential?'

Hinata smirked menacingly.

'Then we might actually have a friend in this hell hole!'

'Fuck meh!'

'Huh?'

'I'm not as excited as you, but I'm sort of close. So Fuck meh.'

'Oh. I thought you said fuck me.'

'Get your head out of the gutter! I plan on doing that at a later date! But right now, we have someplace to be! Are you forgetting about our little house guest?

Hinata stood up and stretched her limbs.

'No, of course not. Why don't we go check on her? You know, make sure the poor dear is alright.'

'You read my fucking mind!

'Then let's go.'

Hinata jumped from the tree and dived straight down head first to the forest floor. She garnered a few scratch here and there from branches. But she fell from the tree mostly unharmed. When she was a few feet away from splattering on the ground in a bloody mess, an inky black hole appeared. She fell harmlessly inside of it. It then closed, leaving no trace of itself behind.

A/N: There you guys go! I really hoped you enjoyed that chapter! Please remember to leave a review, and to check out my other stories too. Have a wonderful night! Tootles!
