Hearing his phone ring, Kurt looked up from his math book and reached for the device. One glance at the screen told him that he had to take the call. Despite everything that Karofsky had put him through, Kurt knew that the teen needed all the friends he could possibly get, now that he had truly accepted who he was.

Besides, he had ignored Karofsky's calls once before and had regretted that choice. Kurt knew that he would always be left wondering if things would have turned out differently if he had just answered Karofsky's calls the last time. It had been that regret that had prompted Kurt to extend a hand of friendship while Karofsky recovered in the hospital following his suicide attempt.

"Hey, what's up?"

"Are you busy?" came the tentative reply from the other side of the connection.

Kurt looked down at his math book. He had a big test tomorrow that he really should study for. However, people were more important than numbers any day.

"No, I'm not busy at all," Kurt replied. "What do you need?"
