sorry there is no definite time skip but since the story doesn't take place in any type of chronological order (other than after hughes died) i wasn't sure how accurate of a skip i could. i do know it's post-manga

SOME TIME LATER

Edward walked through Central holding a small baby in one arm and dragging another golden haired one behind him.

"Daddy, I don't want to see the General! He scares me!"

"Royce, you've never even met the General."

"But I've seen pictures and he looks so scary! I want to go back home to mommy."

"Mommy is visiting friends right now. Don't be such a scaredy cat."

"Ed!"

Edward turned as he saw Alphonse run out of a room.

"Uncle Al!" Royce yelled, yanking his hand from Edward and running to the soldier. "Uncle Al, Uncle Al!"

Al bent down and grabbed him up as Royce gave him a tight hug.

"We miss you!"

"I miss you too… You must have heard that the General came back from his mission then?" he said, looking at Edward.

"Yeah, Hawkeye gave us a call and let us know. I haven't seen him since Royce was born so I thought we should visit… and I thought Royce should meet his namesake."

"I don't wanna meet the General, Uncle Al. He's scary."

Alphonse laughed. "He's not as bad as you think. He likes kids and you and your sister will be in good hands. He's not so scary once you know him."

"Daddy always says that he can make fire… Fire is bad. Maizy got burnt one time."

"He has to have special gloves for that. He won't make fire at you though." Al looked at Edward and smiled. "I haven't seen him since he got back from his mission so I want to go see him too."

"Sure, the more the merrier."

The two began to walk down the hallway toward Mustang's office.

When they got there, Edward reached out but pulled back again.

"Brother?"

"I haven't seen him since we took down Father and ever since Royce has been born I… I kind of remember him being that way. Hawkeye said he still has nightmares about it… I don't want to bring Royce in there and make him have an attack or something…"

"I've seen him have an attack over it but it's usually when he's been taking a nap in his office or something like that. At least that's what Fuery told me. I don't think you'll have any trouble-"

"What are you two doing?"

The two turned around and jumped at the very large man.

"Major Armstrong!" Edward yelled.

"That's Lieutenant Colonel Armstrong to you, Edward Elric!" he yelled, eyeing him.

Maizy began to cry as Royce looked at Alphonse in confusion. Armstrong suddenly did a pose, lots of sparkles exploding all around him and he held out his arms.

"Oh, Edward Elric, how long has it been since we have last seen each other?! I feel as if it has been lifetimes! Come, let me give you my traditional Armstrong welcome back hug!"

"No, no! I'm okay!" Edward yelled, putting his hand out. "You'll hurt my daughter." You're already making her cry, you idiot… he thought.

"Ooh, sparkles!" Royce yelled, grabbing at them.

Armstrong looked at him and smiled from under his mustache.

"And what's your name, little Elric?"

"Royce. Are you an alchemist too?"

"That I am. Would you like to see the artistry of the Armstrong alchemy that has been passed down through the generations?"

"Sorry, Lieutenant Colonel, we have some business with the General."

"Oh, I see. He will be delighted to see you and to make the acquaintances of the young Elrics. I think you will be surprised yourself on some things." he said with a chuckle.

Edward made a face and Armstrong pat him on the head.

"You have grown, Young Edward… It is very good to see you again. I have business to attend but don't hesitate to stop by."

"Sure thing…" Armstrong left and Edward shook his head. "Why did I think he would change?"

Alphonse laughed. "I keep thinking the same thing…"

"Hey, what's this surprise?"

"You'll see. Go in, Ed, you've dawdled enough."

Edward sighed and opened the door to Mustang's office

Roy sighed as he sighed another paper. He thought that when he was promoted that he wouldn't have to do that much paperwork anymore. How wrong he was. Now that he was general, he had to do almost twice as much paperwork than before. Instead of small towers of paperwork, he could make a model of the Briggs Mountains with the amount of papers he was getting now. So much for relaxing… he thought.

There was a slight knock on his door and he mumbled a welcome. The door opened but no one came in. He looked up but when he saw no one, he shrugged and went back to signing papers. The door squeaked and Roy looked up again but no one came in. Roy watched the door for a minute when he heard babbling on the other side of his desk. Confused, Roy stood up and went around the desk, finding a little girl rocking on her legs on the carpet. Seeing Roy, she looked up and sat on her butt, looking up at him and reaching out her arms. Roy bent down and picked the girl up, looking at her. She played with his medal and some of his pins, looking up at him with a pacifier in her mouth. He frowned at her and opened the door.

"Who the hell-"

The golden haired man turned and smiled at him.

"Took you long enough, General."

"Fullmetal… I mean, Edward… Is this yours?" he said, motioning to the baby in his arms.

"Yeah, it is. I thought you should get some practice." Roy made a face as Riza smiled at him. "Why didn't you tell me you got married or anything? I mean, you're having a kid and you didn't let me know? That's pretty sorry, General."

Roy made a face and looked at Maizy, who was preoccupied with his colorful badges.

"Alphonse asked for time off so that he could see your daughter be born. Our wedding was that same week. It would be cruel of me to take you away from your new member just to come to my wedding."

"Winry would have let me come." Edward said with a lift of his eyebrow. He walked over to Roy and took Maizy. He then pinched Roy's cheek. "Besides, I wouldn't have missed my Roy-Boy's wedding for the world if I had known." He gave him a light smack on the cheek.

Roy touched his cheek and glared at Edward, who smirked at him.

Roy looked down and saw Royce looking at him in between Edward's legs. He knelt down and smiled at him.

"Hello, Royce. Your father has sent me many pictures of you. He said that you want to be an alchemist too when you grow up."

"Uh huh… I wanna clap it like Uncle Al."

Roy looked up and Edward rolled his eyes.

"Winry said not to reveal that until he's old enough to know what that means."

"Daddy says you can make fire…"

Roy smiled and pulled out his gloves.

"This symbol on my gloves makes fire. Do you want to see?"

"Will I get burned?"

"No way, I won't let you. Come with me to the training grounds though so I can show you the real stuff." he said with a smirk.

Royce looked at Edward. "Daddy, can I go?!"

"Let's all go. I haven't seen the General go all out in a long time."

Roy smirked and lifted up Royce, putting him on his shoulders as Edward carried Maizy with him. He smiled at Roy's back and adjusted his glasses.

"It's good to finally see all my children together." he mumbled to himself.

"Don't you dare let the Roy hear you say that." Hawkeyes said beside him.

Edward smirked at her and her small pregnant belly.

"Never in a million years."
