Epilogue

Four Years Later

"Bryan, point your toes! Mr. Stilinski, stop flirting with Instructor Hale and stretch," Castiel ordered as he walked around his High School Ballet Class for Young Men. It was one of three classes that was going on here at the Novak Dance Studio. In the room across the foyer there was a "Little Miss Sunshine Hip Hop" class for girls ages four through eleven, and in the room next to that was a tumbling/stretch class for young ladies. He was currently coaching the new dance teacher, Instructor Hale, while simultaneously teaching his class. Hale was up from demonstrating a perfect left front split but his favourite student (also the most notorious trouble maker) was slacking in his own form so he could chat with the admittedly handsome new teacher.

Three years ago, after nearly a year of pleading and various offers to Sonny, Castiel had purchased the studio and began its restoration using the money his mother loaned him. After he graduated from the Academy, he rushed to complete the restoration and get his dream up and running. Dean was by his side the whole time, doing everything from working alongside the construction workers to telling his clients at the auto shop about Castiel's new dance studio, telling them to enroll their children or even themselves (Castiel taught adult ballroom dancing with Anna on Wednesdays). After he got the word out, people came on their own and soon the Novak Dance Studio was on its way to being considered as top notch as the Novak Academy.

After a year of business and after the competitive dance season ended, Castiel's mom gave him a surprise- a scholarship to the Novak Academy for $15,000 for him to award to his most promising senior pupil. She also told him that she would let him give one out every year. Castiel's already blooming reputation skyrocketed and he had to start limiting his class sizes and holding auditions for entry. It pained him to turn young dancers away but that was the way it had to be.

"Mr. Māhealani, please would you demonstrate a proper three turn pirouette? I happen to know you can perform one perfectly and seeing as it is what your classmates will be learning for the next two weeks, I think a demonstration is in order." Instructor Hale's voice jolted Castiel from his thoughts and he met the man's eyes with a nod of approval as Mr. Māhealani did as he was bid. Seeing he had it under control, Castiel exited the room and headed across the foyer, passing Ruby, the receptionist, and entering the "Little Miss Sunshine Hip Hop" class. Anna was in front demonstrating a novice stall move and the girls were giggling and having fun as they all tried the move. Castiel nodded when his sister met his eyes and left, popping his head into the stretch class next door. Everyone was performing excellently and so he left them be as well.

He passed Ruby again and headed up the back stairs to his and Dean's apartment. They had moved in not long after the studio opened to the public. It was where Dean had proposed to Castiel and it was where Cas had accepted. It was where they made love for the first time and it was where they had their first fight. It held a lot of memories and it would only hold more as time went on, he knew. Such as the one he gained when he walked in the door to the living room.

"Hey Jude, don't make it bad. Take a sad song and make it better. Remember to let her into your heart, then you can star to make it better," Dean was singing softly in the baritone growl that Castiel loved to much as he rocked back and forth, bouncing slightly every now and then.

"Cranky?" Castiel asked quietly with a small, fond smile. Dean shot him a look of exasperation.

"How come she never cries for you?" he asked, his voice barely louder than a whisper as he rocked the pink bundle in his arms.

"Because she knows that if she fuses, you'll sing her to sleep. She loves your voice," Dean rolled his eyes but the little bundle began to fuss, drawing his attention back to her as he started to hum again, singing quietly. Castiel stood silently, joy filling him as he watched his husband and daughter. They had adopted Maryanne Deanna Winchester-Novak over six months ago, about a year after they tied the knot in the same church Dean's parents and grandparents were married in. They couldn't have the legal paperwork (yet) but the preacher had agreed to hold them a ceremony with their friends and families anyhow. Cas' dad refused to leave his room to walk him down the aisle so Castiel had asked Bobby to do it instead. The gruff man who had become like an uncle to him had choked up and threatened to say no if he told anyone about it. It was only when Castiel promised to say anything that he accepted. He had even taken off his ball cap and worn a suit for the occasion.

Their vows had been simple and sweet and when they kissed Castiel's mother cried whooped really loudly which had caused them both to blush. Dean had always wanted children and Castiel wasn't opposed to them so they began applying for adoption right away, knowing how long the process usually took. It was an entire year before they were approved and another several months before they found Maryanne. Her mother had abandoned her in a dumpster in New York city. Some passerby had heard the wailing and taken her to an orphanage which is where Dean and Castiel found her three months later. They fell in love with her candy apple green eyes the same shade as Dean's and black mop of hair that closely resembled Castiel's but it was her toothless smile and general perfectness that won them over in the end.

They loved her to pieces and so did everyone else. Bobby even voluntarily babysat once a week with Ellen and Jo was always stealing her out of her daddy or papa's arms. Chuck's face had been priceless when she had looked him in the eye and said "I want three," with complete seriousness. But two months later they found out Jo was almost three months pregnant with twins and they now had one boy and one girl to keep them up at night. Anna had recently gotten engaged to Garth Fitzgerald from Singer Auto and Savage and they were getting ready to move in together. Sammy had decided to stay living with Bobby when Dean and Cas got married and was now living in an apartment just off campus of Harvard Law School with his girlfriend Jess and was getting ready to start his second year there.

Gabriel had actually moved to New York and snagged a job as an assistant teacher at Julliard of all places. He visited at least once every two months or so and called/skyped them often, demanding updates on Maryanne's development.

Life was really, really good. And as Dean settled Maryanne into her crib at last and came up behind him to kiss him on the neck, Cas couldn't help but wonder how he got to be so lucky. If he ever found that guy who slashed his tires and stole his muffler, he might attack him with gratitude. Because if it hadn't been for that stupid act of thievery on that very bad day, he may never have met the one person who could make everything seem okay no matter how many things went wrong.

AN: OH MY JESUS ON FLATBREAD! I finally finished it! I have a couple things to say- first of all, thank you to everyone who reviewed or messaged me, your input really helped and I love you all.

Second of all, being that I finished this fanfiction, I am going to post a new one! (WHY DOES MY MUSE HAVE TO BE SO ACTIVE?) If you are a fan of the show Teen Wolf and a shipper of STEREK then perhaps you should check it out! It's called "Golden" and I already have over 10,000 words written so it might end up being a bit of a long one, I don't really know for sure yet.
