A/N: Heh, exactly 200 words. Wasn't intentional this time.

This is a little Christmas present for Ebaz. :D Merry Christmas, and have a happy, safe and creative New Year.

Presenting Presents

Japan was hardly a Christian state, so while the streets on Christmas Eve were busy with teens on a late night date, Christmas Day was rarely anything out of the ordinary. Sure, the holidays were nice – but, as it fell conveniently into their winter break, a student didn't get much out of it.

Or rather, they shouldn't get much out of it, unless they happened to have a Christian girlfriend, or friend, or psychotic detective –

Which is what Light apparently had, when he found a neatly wrapped parcel on his desk on Christmas morning. Because he doubted L had any religion at all, and he doubted anyone other than L had the audacity to break into his room without triggering any of his…security measures. Like the pencil lead in the door, or the paper lower down.

He didn't open the present. It was too…suspicious, considering L was L and Light was his number one suspect. But Sayu did, barging into her brother's room in the afternoon to beg some homework help. And she happily took the blank black notebook as well – which was probably a good thing, or the security cameras might have caught Light burning it to a crisp.
