Author's Notes:
People: *see the length is one of the short (?) chapters, and look at the date gap* … *look at Lilac*
Lilac: *smiles sheepishly* "…Uh, hi?" *slapped a million times by hands and fishes*

It's feels like it's been FORTY YEARS since I lasted updated! (;-;) I was trying to write all the chapters up and then update on a schedule but instead I got super sidetracked!(D:) How did this happen?!

*sigh* Well, on the bright side, I've improved my writing during those months...but you probably won't see much of that here, because this chapter was written quite awhile ago. Oh my gosh, why have I done this to you guys? (.-.) Alrighty, anyway, I deeply apologize for anything that you guys find lacking in this chapter. (also, I figured out how to use breaks, sooo...) Nevertheless, I hope you still enjoy the chapter!

Olimar's Experience on Guard Duty

Chapter 11

((Recap: Last time on "Olimar's Experiences on Guard Duty":
Olimar's group appears in a pitch-black room—unable to see a thing!
After a feeling of déjà-vu from Olimar, Sonic, and Kirby 2, the group decides on searching for a wall in presumed hall!
Olimar wanders away from the group before realizing this and turning back to the others.
But he trips and falls!
Sonic then helps Olimar up as the basic area was revealed thanks to a light—
…emitting from a strange, floating book?!
The book gives them a vague message and afterwards Kirby 2 and 3 decide to ride the book a bit!
However, Kirby 3 reads a chant off the book pages causing a violent wind to kick up just as Crazy Hand appears! …And then they disappear!
What will our heroes do now?))

SQUADAWOOSH!

The bright light-purple light flashed.

"…way," Olimar finished saying before blinking in surprise.

Crazy Hand floated beside him. "Uh, can yez repeat that?"

However, rather than responding, Olimar took several steps forward as he stared at the new room they were in.

This room had mint-green walls with doors and edges framed with white. The room had a wooden floor with several small, wooden chairs set up around a round table.

Though, the room, to some extent, wouldn't appear as dumbfounding to others, it had a slight resemblance to that of a simple classroom for children. Not much other than chairs, tables, books, and shelves, though.

"Oh, hey guys!" exclaimed a familiar voice causing Olimar to jump.

Startled, Olimar whipped around to see a group he didn't expect to see again so soon.

Just a small distance away stood Roy, Young Link, and Mewtwo in the same room.

"Oh," began Sonic, "so the book really did take us to our friends, after all."

"Yay!" Kirby 3 cheered.

Olimar sighed. "Well that's a relief."

"Hey, guys!" Roy called again, waving his arms wildly. "Guys, guys! Yo, guys, over here-!"

"For goodness' sake, Roy," Mewtwo interrupted, glancing at Roy. "They're only approximately five feet away."

Roy lowered his arms. "Oh. Yeah, I knew that."

Mewtwo rolled his eyes. "Of course you did…"

"Oh, so you guys got Young Link back," Kirby 2 noticed.

"Yeah," Roy answered with a nod. "It wasn't that hard, actually."

Mewtwo folded his arms. "Roy didn't do anything other than sulk in the previous room while I found Young Link in a wooden crate drinking Lon Lon Milk."

"Is it my fault you guys abandoned me?!" Roy exclaimed. "I was all alone with no way to get out!"

"Well, actually, I believe there should've been that Mario there with you," Olimar reminded.

"…" Roy blinked. "…He doesn't count as a person."

Then the sound of ringing caught everyone's attention.

"I'LL GET IT!" Crazy Hand volunteered, crashing into the nearby phone before picking it up. He spoke with a mock British accent. "Helloooo?"

"Hey, I have feelings, too!" blasted Mario's voice through the phone.

Roy frowned, appearing puzzled. "Wha- How did he even-?"

Mewtwo slowly shook his head. "You learn not to question these things after awhile."

Olimar nodded. "Agreed."

The group remained silent for a moment.

"…Sooo, Young Link," Sonic finally spoke up.

"Uh, y-yeah?" Young Link responded, with an uncertain expression; as if he weren't quite sure what to expect.

Sonic turned to face Young Link, taking a few steps forward. "Look, I'm really sorry for upsetting you before. It…I…I just didn't know that what I said would upset you so much." He paused for a moment. "…Heck, I don't even remember what I said that set you off like that, but whatever it was, I'm really sorry for it."

After a moment, Young Link managed a small smile. "Well, apology accepted. But, yeah, I probably overreacted," Young Link admitted with a shrug. "I guess…Actually, I don't even remember what you said that made me depressed."

Sonic blinked. "Oh. Well then, I guess it's water under the bridge from now on, right?" Sonic took another few steps toward Young Link before extending his hand. "Friends?"

Young Link stared at Sonic's outstretched hand for a minute. Then, he took it. Looking up at Sonic, Young Link grinned. "Yeah, friends."

They shook hands and let go.

"Alright then, cool," Sonic announced with a smile.

"Hurray!" cheered Kirby 3, leaping into the air with joy.

Roy laughed. "Yeah, what did Sonic say that made Young Link run off, anyway?"

Sonic shrugged. "Heck if I know."

"Same," Young Link agreed with a nod.

Though, it took Olimar only a second to remember. "I believe he said—"

"Don't," Mewtwo interrupted.

Olimar then realized that if he continued, that might start the problem up again. "Right, sorry…"

"By the way," Sonic said, "Roy, how did you get unstuck?"

"Oh, yeah, that's actually a funny story," Roy replied. "You see, this guy named Bob had owned a cat named Nashville-Sarasota and Mario to—"

"I'M INTERRUPTING YOU!"

All eyes stared at Crazy Hand, the interrupter.

Roy continued. "…So, Mario to—"

"I'M INTERRUPTING YOU AGAIN!" Crazy Hand shouted.

Mewtwo, Sonic, and Kirby 2 facepalmed in unison.

"Hey, that's not cool, Crazy," Roy told Crazy hand. He leaned back, crossing his arms. "Not cool."

Crazy Hand scoffed. "That's only because you're not cool."

"What?! I have more cool than you have in your…" Roy paused, pondering the rest of his comeback for a moment. "…Uhh, than you have in your….atom!"

Kirby 3 tilted his head, confused. "Wait, so is your body really cold?"

"Uh, I don't think so," Roy answered, glancing down at himself.

Mewtwo shook his head. "Never mind that. We should be finding Pichu and the others along with getting out of here."

"Oh yeah!" Roy said in realization. He then ran over to a nearby door and put his hand on the knob. "Good thing the doors actually work here."

He swung the door open, revealing the rest of the wall.

"Aw, thanks a lot, Roy! You jinxed it!" yelled Kirby 2.

Roy's eyelids lowered. "Doggone it." He closed the door and stood back, pondering. "Hmmm," Roy wondered aloud, "what would Ike do?"

((((((With Ike's Group, crawling in the Air Vent…))))))

Ike paused, forcing Kirby and Pit to stop behind him.

"Well," Ike began, Kirby and Pit appearing puzzled. "I would say the opposite, so that the door would be unjinxed," he seemed to be telling to someone.

"…Ike, who are you talking to?" Pit asked.

"Roy," Ike answered matter-of-factly.

Pit and Kirby exchanged glances.

((((((Back with Olimar's group…))))))

Roy blinked. "Oh, thanks, Ike," he responded with a smile.

The group just stared, watching as Roy faced the door once more.

"…Wait, what?" said Kirby 2, clearly having no idea what just happened.

"Just watch," Roy said over his shoulder before turning to the door. He grabbed the knob. "This…door…does not…work!" he declared, dramatically throwing open the door, revealing what appeared to be a dimmed room.

The group, minus Mewtwo, gawked at the sight.

"Whooa," Kirby 2, Kirby 3, and Young Link uttered in an amazed unison.

"What? How did he..?" Olimar raised his eyebrow quizzically, trying to figure this out.

Sonic scanned the entrance to the new room. "Well, it looks like we can finally get somewhere again," he stated before zooming in.

"Hey," Kirby 2 called as he and the others soon followed, "Wait up!"

((((((To Be Continued…))))))

Authors Notes: I have so many projects and so many ideas. It's awesome and a curse! D:
…Or maybe it's the fact I tend to procrastinate that's the curse…Anyway, I am SO SORRY! *headdesk* I need a schedule. I have so many projects and ideas I want/need to work on…AND NOW IT'S SCHOOL. AGAIN. WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN TO ME?

Anyway, here are the questions of the chapter!:

At the beginning of the chapter, who did you expect to be in the room (besides Olimar's group)?

Anybody remember what made Young Link so upset? (Seriously, I actually forgot and looked it up again…)

Why do you think Crazy Hand interrupted Roy (twice)?

Who do you think is cooler? Crazy Hand or Roy?

Why do you think Mewtwo didn't act all that surprised to the, well, randomness?

Okay, I'm still trying to figure out what I could do to fix my updating schedule, so if you guys have any suggestions on what I should do to schedule/update in a better pattern, let me know. Thanks! :)
